    food timing

Does it matter what time you eat your food?

The protocol doesn't allocate food at breakfast and i prefer spacing out each piece of fruit, veg and protein as little snacks rather than eating a lunch and dinner.

    What is everyones thoughts?

    Thanks!

You can break it up however you like, according to Dr. Simeons. The only caveat is not to eat 2 of the same item at the same meal.

Personally, I've had my apple for breakfast in all my rounds, and the other fruit for a mid afternoon snack. I'll sometimes eat my second melba with the second fruit, or I might have it as an appetizer while cooking dinner.

I eat my apple in the am but I do wonder about waiting until noon. Dr. S's intentions may have been to use up some stored glycogen by not eating until noon, which is part of the reason steak days work so well--intermittent fasting burns the stored up glycogen after about 12 hours, plus a little fat. Which explains why if I eat early on a steak day it doesn't produce great results. So maybe similar thoughts for am eating?

That would seem to be a fair point. EXCEPT that Dr. Simeons said, "There is no objection to breaking up the two meals. For instance having a breadstick and an apple for breakfast or before going to bed, provided they are deducted from the regular meals."

So hopefully that puts your mind at ease about your breakfast apple.

My doctor wanted me to eat the apple first thing because of some other issues (cortisol and such). So I just continued even after the issues were resolved.
