    Kelp Noodles (Sea Tangle Brand) No Tofu

    Has anyone used these on P2? They have 1 carb 0 fat 0 protein and 6 cals per 4 oz serving. the only ingredients are kelp and sodium alginate. They are JUST like cellophane noodles if you boil them and chill them with tamari red wine vinegar.

    I've had them once in P2. No effect one way or the other.

    The tamari is out in P2 though.

    I boiled mine until nearly 'tender' like rice noodles (they are crunchy when raw). Then I drained and added wheat free tamari (same as Bragg's Aminos chemically), grated fresh ginger and garlic, pinch of stevia, fresh lime juice and red wine vinegar; and 1/2 cucumber cut into quarter slices. Chilled in fridge over night and the noodles become like the vietnamese type of 'cellophane' noodles. Delish!

    Oh wow, I think I may experiment with these soon! It is so hard for me to go off protocol though, LOL. This is not really on protocol. But I guess I could buy a scale and see if it does anything. Mmm.

    Round 1 ended 3/25 30

    If you some them in hot water and lemon juice for 1/2 they will soften and you can use them anyway you like from that point.

    Any acid will soften them. You don't need to cook. So for instance if you warm them in some tomato sauce, they soften up.

    I like these better than the miracle (konjac) noodles.

    As for P2, it would be an experiment. Those that are salt sensitive may experience some water retention.

    Nutritional info:
    Kelp noodles do not contain cholesterol, protein, gluten, wheat, or sugar. Per serving, they typically have 1 gram of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, and 35 milligrams of sodium.
