Like eating dinner later, only eat at the table, never eat anything without drinking a big glass of water, etc. I also sometimes would save my fruit serving. I would freeze strawberries, throw them in a blender with ice and water. It was like a huge treat and I was still on protocol. You can't be victorious when you are a victim. Try and find ways t be successful! I also recommend to everyone to read Karol Truman's book "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die". It's great to help get to the root of our emotions. Good luck!
good idea about saving that fruit for later. i need to research that book. thanks!

update as promised. this works well for me: 500mg tyrosine and 6 g inositol 2x day on empty stomach (6AM and 4PM). took some tweaking to figure out what works and what doesn't. "The Mood Cure" book has all the details what supplements to use in what conditions and how. this fixed a life long problem and i'm hopefuly on a road to full recovery.

If you have the repetitive night time eating habits even you don't feel hungry then you may have this night eating syndrome. One of the plenty advice that I remember is to avoid caffeine and have some remedies to stress and anxiety.

the progress is slow. the night eating relapsed in the last couple of days (gained almost 2 lbs). my triggers are staying late at night and watching TV.
Looks like i can't do those if i want to lose weight.
    I'll keep you posted.

Update. Night eating almost disappeared for me. Even though I'm not getting as much buzz from the supplements as I used to. Too bad I'm not losing much weight these days. I'm afraid I reached a limit.

To avoid night snacking it is best to have a dinner because will think of food until breakfast. If I feel hungry at night I drink yogurt or a slice of cheese. It will definitely make you forget about hunger.

Update after a long time of absence.
I finally found something that works the best for my night eating and wanted to share: metformin 1500-2000mg/day. The funny thing is i tried metformin before a couple of times with no effects, but it was low dose 500-1000mg/day. Then i found online that 500-1000mg should be a starting dose and 2000mg is the target dose. I soon as i started taking 1500mg, i started losing weight again. i'm still a couple of pounds above the end of my HCG diet weight, mid 2016, but this is truly a lifestyle changer. Eating less and no more hungry all the time (especially nighttime). I'll update in a few more months.

I don't think I have a syndrome per se, but snacking in the evening is one of my faves. I don't eat after 7ish pm and I stay OUT of the kitchen for the rest of the night. I also don't watch as much TV which goes hand in hand with my snacking. I've been doing a lot more reading and staying busy and then go to bed early. All those things help with not succumbing to a cheat or eating past 7.

Glad you found a solution, jackblack!

I totally agree. avoiding TV and reading a book before sleep helped me some before and now there is not even a temptation anymore.

I see that no one cares here. Regardless, I'm updating this. I'm about a month on 2000mg metformin daily and lost near 9 pounds and i'm near my lowest weight (not counting adolescence). The night eating is almost eliminated. metformin makes me less hungry, but i make sure I go to bad early and don't watch TV at night (huge trigger for night/binge eating).

BTW, metformin can be purchased without prescription from one of the overseas pharmacies.

    Good luck everyone!

I think people care, just many don't post. Thanks for updating this, and am sure it could help others with same problems.

I am glad you found what works for you, and you didn't give up. I see this whole thread started over a year ago.

I can see the difference of NES as to where me I sometimes just think I need a snack late at night watching shows on my computer, but while on HCG I don't have this problem at all, and can control it.
And I don't need to eat to get to sleep either... but I do have trouble getting to sleep, unless I am physically tired.

So like a lot of you, I just don't snack after supper.

Good Luck on your journey and wish you great success

jackblack - so cool you found something that works for you! I am often tempted to eat late at night, like I mentioned before, but I find if I make some tea and just wrap up with a book for about an hour before bed, I get sleepy enough to just fall asleep. I find that drinking alcohol at night makes me want to eat more, so I curb that as much as I can.
    Good luck!
