Cool Planned Interruption 2019 - I DID GOOD!!!!

My honey decided to let me know that we were going on a trip to Costa Rica for Valentines/President's weekend, which was just after my 24th VLCD. Since I still had about 4-5 lbs. to goal, I decided to do a Planned Interruption and go into P3 a few days before we would leave on Feb 14 just to see how it would go before I left since I would not have access to a scale.

Well, I am happy to report that I returned only .4 above what I weighed on the day before leaving (which was 1.6 less than the amount on the day of my last injection before starting the interruption).

We were staying at a Wellness and Spa Resort which was secluded out in the middle of the mountains and coffee plantations - no TV. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The on-site restaurant specialized in on-site grown garden vegetables and fresh fish. They would make lunch and dinner for you based on the specific time you wanted to eat your meals and would cook it to order - no sauces, sugar, starch etc.

I ate and drank the following while at the resort:

Fresh Grown Pineapple (my favorite fruit - the sweetest I've ever had anywhere) and Boiled Shrimp Every Morning for Breakfast
1/2 bottle of Champagne on Valentine's Day
Grilled or Parchment Steamed Fish and Green Vegetables(Broccoli, Asparagus, Zucchini, etc.) every evening for Dinner
Two glasses of Sweet Red Wine
Costa Rican Coffee with a splash of goat's milk (sweetened my liquid Stevia that I took with me)

One of the days we went on an excursion to a coffee producing plantation where they served us breakfast, I had the following that day:

    Scrambled Eggs
    Fresh Goat Cheese Slices
    Fresh Pineapple

Later that same day, we went on a volcano & rainforest excursion and had a late buffet lunch where I had the following:

Coffee Wood Roasted Chicken (2 breasts, 1 thigh, 1 leg)
    Lettuce, Tomato, & Cucumber Salad
A Large Bowl of Fresh Pineapple

One of the days we also went downtown to the capital city - San Jose to do some shopping, and had lunch at a nice restaurant where I had the following:

A sizzling platter of mixed meats (skirt steak, chicken, boneless pork chop), and veggies
A Mojito (Rum, Soda, Mint, Lime, Agave Syrup)

I also drank tons of their excellent water, and did a lot of walking - at least 20 miles total for all the days, and had a handful macadamia nuts as a snack every day. The day we went to the beach for a few hours, I even had pork rinds as a snack. These are normally too salty, but I just went for it because I was hungry that day, and he bought a few small bags for us.

I am truly glad that I was able to enjoy my trip without feeling restricted, yet still attempting to make the best choices to minimize the gain so I wouldn't come back and be up 5 lbs. or more. - I DID GOOD!!!

I was willing and prepared to take the gain from the best pineapple I have ever tasted . They were also being sold by the roadsides there 2/$1, so it was too hard to resist.

Yes, I resumed yesterday after mixing a new vial, and doing a mini fat load day by eating a bag of Costa Rican Mac Nuts I brought home and a few chicken thighs - with no gain. I had zero hunger today, and my plan is to continue for about 7-10 more days.

    Absolutely.

Looking back, it does appear that I still kept my fat on the lower side during the interruption, which may have been the key for me. It wasn't intentional, just how it happened to go. I didn't really have any butter or oil since I always eat dry salads. My favorite dish at the resort was a baked snapper topped with Pesto which contained a bit of olive oil but that was all I remember having.

That was a great report on your interruption. How's it going since you have been back in P2?

It's been wonderful for the past five days since I restarted. Yesterday, I was shocked when I dropped 3.6 lbs from Friday, and this morning I was down 1 more pound. I think I'll be wrapping up the round by the end of the week with a few pounds to spare.

I hope the final P3 goes as well as it did during the interruption.

    Good Monday morning,

I'm down another 1 pound today. I'm losing faster this first week after the interruption than I did after loading when I started the round last month.

That seems to happen quite often. It makes me wonder if it isn't a good idea to plan an "unforeseen interruption" deliberately within a round.
