So today I had to walk past a huge box of donuts at work today. The smell was overwhelming! I walked, I did a double take, I looked back... It was pretty hard mentally! So I gave in... I grabbed the donut! I took it to my office discretely wrapped in a paper towel, placed it on my desk and looked at it. I gave it a long hard stare. I smelled it, I let it come to my mouth. But I couldn't bite into it. The longer I looked at it, the longer I realized that the potential setback of 3 days just wasn't worth it! I let it sit in front of me for quite some time to deal with the tempation, one-on-one and I began forgetting about it.

I finally tossed it in the garbage under my desk. Then 2 minutes later...looked in on it! (Not a trash digger, but Hey, I could still smell it) It seemed to be taunting me! (It's amazing how food seems to taunt you on this Protocol). I finally took it out... ripped it into pieces and tossed it in the garbage again. For good! I grabbed so hot tea and a Melba cracker to satisfy the craving and Viola! I was good to go.

The point of me posting this story is to encourage everyone out there to be stronger than their CRAVING. Ultimately it's a HUNGER over CRAVING game. Be bigger than your CRAVING and only eat for Hunger is what I have to tell myself.

My HCG must be pretty high quality because I'm not hungry at all and I surely wasn't facing that donut! I knew it wouldn't be fulfilling one it was all said and swallowed! Fullfilment for me would be seeing another loss on the scale which I am waiting for first thing in the morning!

    Til the next craving...

    Yvonne!

Awesome job I'm a believer in "it takes doing something 15 times to make it a habit" only 14 more to conquer!!! You've got this!

I love this! Yesterday while I was homeschooling, I thought about this. I thought you know, you can go two ways, give in, or be strong, and don't give in to temptation. I have been making a pitcher of water with lemon and cucumber slices and drinking it through out the day and by golly, it's a life saver!
I write down my temptations, I talk it out too. We got this you guys!!

Cool NO FOOD tastes better than being SEXY FEELS

This is very true. After you cheat, you only feel bad. The food doesn't taste as good as thought it would in your mind after you have eaten it.

I hate to play devilís advocate here, but here goes. When we use food as a coping mechanism, meaning weíre eating for reasons other than hunger, itís not a pull yourself up by the boot straps battle. As many of us have become overweight, Iím sure weíve all turned to food as a comfort, as an emotional outlet, etc and ďjust say noĒ doesnít always cut it. Iím sure weíve all heard how well that campaign against drug use went over in the 90s.

As a recovering alcoholic and addict, I stay sober based on the maintenance of my spiritual condition. I donít get to wake up and say ďIím not going to drink today; thatís that!Ē if Iím depressed, anxious, lonely, manic, etc. I have to engage in my recovery community, pray, meditate and stay busy to have enough spiritual sobriety to ďjust say no.Ē

Food (mainly, sugar), for me, has become an addiction recently as well. I have 3 kids and a full time sales career, and Iíve been eating my stress. I went to some meditation classes and prayed a lot before I started the hcg diet protocol, and Iíve lost 6.2 pounds in 5 days. I knew I was taking away a coping mechanism and breaking steadfast bad habits, so I wanted to be prepared.

To be fair, if this approach works for you, more power to you! Weíre all different. Just donít feel bad if it doesnít and you find your food-programmed brain wanting for satisfaction from calories, sugar and carbs. If you fall, get right back up and brush it off. Never stop trying. We are all on a journey!

Welcome SlimKatie, and congrats on your choosing hcg and your losses so far.

Also congrats on the success of all your daily battles.

Most of us agree, if you cheat, just pick back up and continue on with the diet. We all try to learn from the mistakes we make.
You have said it very well.
