    african american hair and skin

I posted this in the wrong section before, I think; let me ask again here. My two co-workers are African American, and they're starting the diet this weekend. They're afriad to give up their hair oils and special skin products. Is there anyone out there who has had success with products that keep African American hair and skin beautiful but don't mess with the weight loss?

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

This is an interesting question. I know someone who also expressed an interest in starting and I'm sure this question will come up. Mineral Oil is allowed, and I don't know if that's useful.

I know that I have been dodging creams on my Caucasian skin since September. But during my first detox bath I put a small amount of mineral oil (baby oil) in the tub. It worked like magic. I can't believe I waited months! LOL. Glycerin is what my recipe called for, and I have some but it wasn't handy. Glycerin attracts moisture to your skin. It's not an oil. It will attract moisture to the skin.

Another moisturizer would be Aloe Vera.

Sorry...they are female. Although, one of the lady's husband is thinking of doing the diet as well. It should be simpler for a man, I'm thinking, since his only real concern would be the hair oil and not all the lotions and face potions we women use.

I did mention baby oil to one of the ladies; she did say she might try that. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm glad you mentioned Aloe Vera; I'd sort of forgotten about the healing properties of that. It would be a great moisturizer for anyone, regardless of color, I would think. After all, it helps heal burns!

I am African American and am waiting for my HCG in the mail so that I may start. I want to follow the protocol well, but I am concerned about giving up my hair moisturizer. Mineral oil isn't something I'd put in my hair...

HA HA HA, actually it woudl depend a lot on the male. i woudl say that about 50 percent of them use just as much product as the women. but for a man i woudl say sack up and deal. for a woman... [quickly walks away inthe other direction with his mouth shut]

I wish you well on your hcg journey! If you find something that works well for you and doesn't mess up your weight loss, please let me know so I can pass it along to them. I think for now, my friends are just going to go ahead and use their hair oil and maybe use baby oil to see if that is okay for the skin. LOL, I don't think I'd want mineral oil on my hair, either! Don't know why I can't get them to log onto the forum themselves...I keep telling them how helpful it is!

What about olive oil spray or the mineral oil spray I think it comes in a blue can.

Hi, Xarmani. Please keep us posted on how you do! My two friends are not losing as fast as most people seem to on their first round, but they are losing. The husband of one of the ladies who's on the diet has only lost a couple of pounds so far; his losses have been very slow.
I hope you do really well...do let us know how it goes.
