    Cough Drops

I have a problem: For years I haven't been able to fall asleep without a cough drop in my mouth. I have tried sprays, etc but I have a horrible coughing fit right before I go to sleep at night, due to dry mouth. The cough drop I use is sweetened with isomalt. I can't find any with stevia for some reason. Will this ruin my p2? Any ideas on p2 safe cough drops would be very welcome!!

In reply to this and your 4 other identical posts, why not try a sugar free cough drop? Most do have about 5 calories each, but you probably won't do much damage with that.

Thank you for replying as I am highly concerned about this.
My cough drop is "sugar free". Isomalt is a sugar alchohol. How much do sugar alchohols affect weightloss in p2? Surely it's not as bad as losing a night of sleep - because right now that's the choice I'm facing.

How many calories does your cough drop have? If it causes you to stall or gain, stop taking it and try another type. Have you consulted with your doctor to see if there is any medical issue that needs to be addressed or is this just a quirk of your body?

Spoke with him just the other day about this. We both agreed it's probably not Sjögren's but there is really nothing else we could think of. Pharmacist says it's not a side effect with any of my medications. It's been happening since college.

It's almost certainly a food allergy. Dairy is a likely culprit.
