    Dry, rough, irritated hands

I have got horribly dried hands even just during the first 5 days of p2. I am looking for something that is safe on hcg diet and moisturize my hands. I on website the Alba Hawaiian Aloe & Green Tea Oil-Free moisturizer and am considering purchasing this, but not sure about if this is product is hcg safe...is anyone on p2 of the diet using this product? is it safe enough though?

I've had the same problem, but I read somewhere when I googled this the other day that coconut oil and vaseline is okay, it doesn't effect the diet. I used vaseline for the first time yesterday, because my hands and fingers were actually cracking, well anyway I still lost 2 lbs. when I stepped on the scale this morning. I also read that coconut oil, when ingested actually burns stored fat, but I haven't tried the coconut oil. I'm sure it needs to be the purest form, which no-doubt will be expensive.

I finally found something that works beautifully. It's called "Great Scott Medicated Skin Cream!" as in "great Scott it works!" I ordered some and it wasn't cheap but I did get 3 4.5 oz tubs of it plus a sample size for my purse for about $35. I had spent a lot more than that previously trying everything else so this has gotten me through 2 rounds so far with 1/2 of it still left plus giving away samples to my other hcg buddies locally. The only drawback for me personally is that it is not organic which I would prefer. But the scent is very faint and does not have a perfume smell at all to it. I prefer all fragrance-free things as well but I can use this without any issues. I even use it on my lips. I am on P2 now and my losses have been great using it regularly. The directions say you can even use this along with a paraffin treatment for extremely cracked hands which I have never tried as this cream has been good by itself. I already had dry skin from a thyroid issue before I started this diet so this cream has made a huge difference in how I tolerate this diet overall. Not feeling so sorry for myself when my skin isn't so miserably dry! Hope this helps!

My hands are so bad that they have scabs on them from where they have cracked and bled. I get under the covers at night and the skin gets pulled on the comforter! Thank you DuhPrincess, I will be ordering some for my hands and hoping for the best. Mineral oil just won't cut it for me. . .

Yeah, this stuff is thick and creamy so it covers well and soaks in without being so oily & messy to use. And I notice that I seem to be using less & less of it compared to when I first got it. My heels are nice and soft and I don't have to put cream on them everyday anymore. Although, I do need to mention that last year I took 4-5 long hot baths soaking in something mixed & added to the water called "MMS" which killed all my foot fungus (plus everywhere else I'd had issues with sores in my fat folds & scalp which is basically a Candida problem). After the 4th or so bath, all this thick gray cruddy skin peeled away from my heels and then my heels suddenly looked & felt like newborn baby heels again! And I had tried everything including a little battery powered grinder which only helped a little bit. My heels were still cracked, itchy & thick until after the 4th or 5th MMS bath then WOW! I am still amazed at how nice they are after all those years of shredding my nylons! But they would still feel kinda dry like the rest of me so this stuff has been nice for them on this diet.

My skin has always been dry and got even worse after a few weeks on this diet my first round. But using this cream in particular has given me the best results so far. It was so bad I considered quitting the diet cuz I couldn't stand feeling that uncomfortable all the time. I also tried the Alba Aloe & Green Tea (bought 2 of those first round) but the smell is stronger than I prefer. Also tried Baby Oil and then Unscented Mineral Oil but they were a mess to use because they don't really soak into the skin very fast or not really at all which is why they are "safe" on this diet. The molecules are too large to soak in. Found some oil-free Murad Clean Scene for my face yet it still has a strawberry scent which I like but it's still a tad perfumy near my nose & eyes. Have also used coconut oil but that too is messy to use. Some have had issues gaining when using it on the skin.

I am one of those people who already had a lotion pump by every sink plus by my LR chair so now I keep a tub of this stuff in the kitchen and my bedroom plus the sample size in my purse. I saved one jar in the cupboard only to refill smaller jars and don't dip my fingers in it at all to keep it fresh. I use a mini-spatula to refill travel size jars for friends who want to try it. It's 4.5 oz but looks like the size of a whole cup by volume. But because it is not paraben-free, I will just use it during P2 of my diet just to be safe. And each jar is still 1/2 full after 2 rounds and giving samples of it away. WalMart carries some nice clear travel size containers in the luggage/travel area of the store.

Thanks again! I ordered yesterday and I can't wait for it to come! I have never seen my hands do this before, it's kind of sad. I'm in Colorado which is incredibly dry this year: we've already had 10 times as many wildfires this year more than the normal, and it isn't even summer yet. I'm thinking of picking up a thing of curel while waiting for this, it really is almost a deal breaker on this diet! Which is weird because otherwise I'm really enjoying it.

There were instructions online for doing a Paraffin Treatment with the Great Scott cream. I've never done it, but it said to melt paraffin to safe temp, and after schmearing the Skin Cream on hands, dip hands into the paraffin and keep wax on your hands for a minimum of 30 minutes. Then remove the paraffin and re-rub the existing Skin Cream back into your hands. This is supposed to do a deep treatment for cracked skin. Thankfully I've never reached that point though my hair stylist is almost there with her chapped hands while on this diet. Hope this helps!

I think I will have to consider the paraffin treatment if I get to that point, I'm not sure I'm there yet. I have to say the Great Scott came in the mail yesterday and I'm in absolute love. I will have to post a positive review for feedback, not only is it working extremely well, it came in a decent amount of time, with additional samples, and even a handwritten thank you on the receipt. Now that is customer service that deserves a big high five!

    DuhPrincess, you're a life saver!
