Thread: Any Massage Therapists on Hgc Have Suggestions for Oil?

  1. #13
Hi, I am a massage therapist student and want to start the program. I am concerned about the possibility of not losing weight due to the absorption of oil in the lotions I must use on fellow students and they must use on me while we practice. I am also about to start practicums, which will be where I am working on the public, so buying the massage lotion that is HCG approved is quite expensive for the amount they provide vs. the amount I must use. I am considering using Elta's paraffin massage lotion (mineral oil based) as I have read this will work since it is not an animal based fat. What is the general consensus about the best way to approach this? I cannot use gloves during this time but I very much want to try this program.

I know this is an old thread. I want to start this diet but I am am a Massage Therapist / Stretcher. Our jobs are very physical and burn allot of calories. I think one day I tracked 830 cals on my fit bit. How will this work with HCG diet. Also I need to weigh in on this oil thing. Please please please do not use baby oil/Mineral oil. It is the WORST you could ever use on your body. It is made from petroleum, yeah the stuff car oil is made of. Yes it is used in many cosmetics and it is horrible. You would be far better off using coconut oil.

I think most people know how horrible baby/mineral/petroleum oils are for you. But many of us choose to use it sparingly during P2 precisely because it is horrible, a non-food based oil that your body doesn't recognize as fat. As we all know from reading Pounds & Inches, we have to avoid cosmetics and lotions that contain oil during P2. They can interfere with our weight loss and stabilization. And we know from experience that coconut oil use in P2, in particular, tends to lead to lack of stabilization in P3 and P4.
