TOOTHPASTE - what is wrong with my normal one?

I got one of the approved arm&hammer toothpastes, but oh GOD the smell of it is just like cat food and I almost throw up every time I use it. There is no way I can continue to gag through using arm&hammer

My normal toothpaste has these ingredients - Sodium monofluorophosphate, propylene glycol, PEG/PPG 116/66 copolymer, PEG-12, glycerin, PVP, flavor, sodium lauryl sulfate, tetrasodium pyrophsophate, silica, hydrogen peroxide, sodium saccharin, phosphoric acid, sucralose, butylated hydroxytoluene, water.

    anything wrong with that?

I use the Weleda calendula one and it tastes like liquorice.

I looked up the weleda one and it has Fennel Oil in it...

If there's nothing wrong with my current one I'd like to just keep using it, but I don't know if any of those ingredients are not okay.

I never knew there were restrictions on toothpaste. I've been using my same old toothpaste for two rounds now. No problems losing.

Fennel is allowed on the diet and there's bound to be something oily in normal toothpaste, if anything the Weleda one is way thicker so there must be lots more 'stuff' in regular toothpaste to make it so slippery. The Weleda one was recommended to me in the book I got from the naturopath when I bought the drops off them. If you aren't having any problems then just use your normal toothpaste. Are you on drops or injections or patches? I don't know why toothpaste is an issue but had thought it was mainly for people on drops.

    I'll be doing injections.

I'm just gonna keep using this toothpaste then. No one said if there was anything wrong with it so I'm not gonna waste more money on toothpaste lol

yeah, I use all my normal toiletries as well, sans shaving cream and lotion. Never used anything other than my regular colgate toothpaste and never had any issues!

Sucralose is an artificial sweetener that might cause you problems.

    Sucralose is sugar.

"Sucrose" is sugar. "Sucralose" is the chemical artificial sweetner Splenda.

I am surprised at all those horrible ingredients in that toothpaste! Propylene glycol is one of the worst thins for your body, socium lauryl sulfate is a carcinogen, butylated hydroxytoluene is BHT which is a petroleum based chemical preservative. You think of arm and hammer, and think it would be *clean*, but that toothpaste is cr*p! HTH

What she said, LOL. I don't know if that toothpaste will affect your losses on this protocol, but if you respect your body you really should consider using something healthier anyway. Its amazing what kind of chemistry lab crap mainstream companies get away with in toiletries and cosmetics. I love a toothpaste called Xyliwhite. It can be bought at many health food stores and online. It doesn't taste at all like the "healthy" toothpastes, and prevents tooth decay really well in my family!
