Thread: C25K Anyone?

  1. #1

    C25K Anyone?

I want to start this this weekend. I havent yet started the HCG, and in fact, I'm still waiting on a script for blood draw. So, I doubt I will start for another 2-3 weeks. If I start the C25K program now, any idea if this will really throw off my energy while on HCG? I know people who have always exercised are advised NOT to stop, and I know that people that never exercise are advised NOT to start....but what about a recent endeavor?

My advice would be to go for it! If you find you are struggling once you start the HCG, you have a solid foundation for walking every day. It's a good program.

not true- but you have to use common sense. listen to what your body feels it can do. most either need to scale back on exercise a bit, or increase their protein amounts- both have worked.

I am kind of doing it....I had already started running some and I can't seem to find the right day to jump on on...either too easy or too hard but I am GOING to do it! I am in P3 right now but will be back in P2 in a couple of weeks and just plan to add extra protein if needed. I have lost a lot of muscle using hcg and I don't want to be skinny and flabby! LOl!

That program is dangerous. I did it several years ago, and the next thing you know I was spending a fortune on running shoes, 5K race fees, 10k race fees, 1/2 marathon fees, marathon fees, etc.

    Have fun.

I'm also doing C25K and finished my second week, this is supposed to be my third week but I paused it because I'm starting HCG on Thursday. After reading this, I think I'll try and keep going, and adjust/pause if I feel tired. Since deciding to start HCG I've been "lazy" about habits that I've kept going since January and I know that that's dangerous, eg I've been slacking and eating chips here and there, and pausing C25K, taking the bus where I could walk. I know I need to stop this if I'm going to maintain weight loss after HCG and not just rely on HCG alone.

Just finished W2D1 and still going strong. I have my doctor's appoint Monday to start a 7-day detox, so I'm assuming that the HCG first dose will be the following week, when I'm in W4. At least by that point, I'm pretty much entrenched into the program, and I'll take it slow if I need to (eg doing Week 3/4 over and over again if I need to slow down). Hopefully I can keep it up. And I know if I can keep it up while using HCG, I can certainly keep it up afterwards, right???

Just need to continue through the awful summer humidity/heat. That will be the true test. I've found my goal also....a 4-miler pavement/grass mixed run through a country club in September. I havent seen it officially scheduled yet, but if its on again this year, that will be perfect! I really want to continue with the "bridge to 10k" and do that this winter when the weather is nice. I think having specific goals like this will be very motivating for me!

Update: Today is my VLCD2 and I thought that I'd go for a run, however, when I woke up and got out of bed and stood up, I knew immediately that I didn't have enough energy for it, even though I'm only on week2 of the program. However, I've had lots of energy for the rest of the day, so this gives me hope that I can try again sometime later this week when my fat is being turned into fuel!
