    Increasing calories for exercise

Hey, I'm curious. So, if we eat less than 500 cal, we enter starvation mode, right?
Well, what if we burn 100-200 cal at the gym walking for 20 min.... Should we up the intake so that we balance out to 500 cal after exercise is taken into account?

500 is already starvation mode- the idea is that we're burning stored fat for energy. i generally tell people to do what they are comfortable with. some people can exercise and still feel great. others don't, but still want to exercise- so they add additional calories. adding extra lean protein generally does not negatively affect weight loss for those who exercise.

starvation mode is an overused term with a very poor definition.

when you are on hormone and eat less than 500 calories it may be possible that your metabolism could slow to compensate which means you will not have the juice to perform activity at your 100%.

Exercise is very different. Assuming a energy replete environment ( which HCG provides) the body will increase its metabolism to compensate for the extra drain on the body during exercise. ( neat huh )

Another point to realize is that unless you have a heart rate monitor and a VOx2 model for your body you cannot know what your rate of caloric expenditure is ... sucks i know but those calculators are just flat wrong and esp the ones on machines which are actually lying ( or at least strongly misleading you ) about how much you have expended.

consider this. the body uses 80% of any caloric OUTPUT for basal activity.... ( whaaaaaaaa ) running your brain, heart, live, etc takes a specific amount of energy. that number is static at 80%. 10% is used to digest food, the remaining parlty 10% is used for moving all the muscles in the body..... These ratios do not change under any circumstances known to me ( allowing wiggle room) so .... out of a 2000 calorie day 1600 calories are used to run the machine. 200 for digesting the food you eat and 200 for moving the body around....
If you ask the body to work harder than 200 calories the body will ask you for more food, one way or another. if you are fat, and healthy then you are golden you dont have to eat to fuel the furnace. if you are fat and unhealthy you are actually SOL. Fix the broken machine and then you are golden again. If you are Normal weight, you must pay to play, ie you gotta eat.

    dems the facts
This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

I constantly weight lift and do cardio on protocol and maintenance, and did so on the past 3 rounds. I found it helped to measure my body almost daily since the scale would drop .2 but the inches were HUGE losses. I do use ISO-100 whey protein with very little additives when i weight lift. Then i stick to the 500 for daily consumption. If my workout is not too hard then i do not add anything. I find doing HCG with exercise (especially yoga) will help shape the new body coming your way

That sounds fantastic, but what if you don't have the energy on HCG to do this? I'd love to get back into the gym. I love lifting weights and love what it does for my body shape, but I just can't muster up the energy to do it? I'm on VLCD7 - will my energy level change? I'm getting a little nervous about saggy skin - I'm definitely losing inches because I tried on a pair of skinny jeans this morning that I couldn't even think about putting on at the beginning of December and got them up and zipped. But I don't want to look all saggy and loose, either.

I've seen discussions here about dose changing for more energy. I can't do that as I'm taking sublinqual tablets. The bottle says 300 IU daily.

I would love some help with this! Thanks.

    Chiki,

I only workout if i have the energy. Sometimes its the dose, sometimes its the food i am eating ie. apple vs grapefruit. I have never done tablets, maybe find some forums about the tablets so people with experience can suggest something... As for the working out, when i do have the energy, my "rule" is Burn 400cal drink one protein shake. So if i do 1 hr weights then 1 hr cardio i will drink one serving ISO-100 in between. Also some coffee or black ice tea (for the caffeine) helps before and in the middle of your workout.

Yoga and other stretching routines are great for P2. Any activity you can do to relax and let your body heal is beneficial. (Except deep tissue massage. That is forbidden in the document.) Remember that HCG is not specifically a diet...it is a hormone-healing protocol.

You don't need to ever increase calories for exercise in P2. The protocol mentions even very active brawny construction workers doing fine on the 500 calorie limit. Actually for most people, exercise will be self-limiting. You just won't have the stamina to do a whole lot of anything intensive. Your muscles will very quickly reach that heavy achy feeling you get from lactic acid build up.

I remember reading about the massage - any reason why? I get twice weekly physical therapy on my shoulder, but she's basically using deep tissue techniques.
Just curious as I had seen it mentioned but wasn't aware of why.

People think its because of the oils, but its more about protecting the fat layer that HCG is working on. You can read about it in the protocol here:

Interesting! I see how that's geared toward fat, most of what I have done is muscular and tendon. It's also in my shoulder and neck which isn't really a fatty zone. I can take oil-free lotion but I can't really see going without it for 3-4 weeks since it's crucial to me being able to work.

Your therapist could easily use mineral oil and you would remain on protocol. If you are on a therapy that helps you function, that is a good reason to continue it.

People also have found that they can continue most supplements and medications during their round without ill effects even though the protocol advises to stop everything but the HCG.
