    Canned Tuna in water

Can I use canned tuna in water for the VLCD? With how crazy everything is I want to know I have a backup.

Tuna is not on protocol. It is also specifically mentioned in the protocol menu items list (p.44) as not allowed.

..Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed.
Some have reported using albacore packed in water successfully. You would have to see how you do. No one will be able to tell you whether it will work for you or not. We also don't know what effect disallowed menu choices might have on your chances for a good stabilization, so something to factor into your decision.

This is a challenging time for food procurement in regards to specific items, so I understand the desire to have options. But my personal opinion is that we make a huge investment in time, effort and expense in doing the HCG protocol, which is not just about weight loss, but bringing hormones into balance. The HCG diet is a specific prescription to that end. The best avenue to success is not to do too much experimenting with it.
