Coffee without cream? What can i use to de-acidify?

Hi, I am not gonna pretend--I have a coffee problem--and I can't drink it black, I have to have something to cut the acidity. Typically I add heavy whipping cream (I try to do keto it just isn't working as I get older!)

My HCG is ordered from dietdoc but I do not know what to do about the coffee problem.

I have used Califia Coconut Almond Blend but dietdoc said no coconut milk.

    The ingredients are:
Ingredients: Almondmilk (Water, Almonds), Coconut Cream, Calcium Carbonate, Sunflower Lecithin, Sea Salt, Natural Flavors, Potassium Citrate, Locust Bean Gum, Gellan Gum, Monk Fruit Extract.

45 calories per 8 oz with 4g of fat.

What else can I use? I do not like my coffee sweet, I just need something to cut the acidity..

    Thanks!

The protocol does allow 1 T of whole milk per day.

Try a pinch of pink salt. It smooths out the coffee in an amazing way.

I do the whole milk allowed for the first cup, but after that I use the salt technique.

If that doesn't work, baking soda---but I think the salt works better and you don't taste it.

So my question is can I drink that Califia? Would it be acceptable? 1tbsp of milk and then salt is not going to work.

It is almond milk and coconut--The ingredients are:
Ingredients: Almondmilk (Water, Almonds), Coconut Cream, Calcium Carbonate, Sunflower Lecithin, Sea Salt, Natural Flavors, Potassium Citrate, Locust Bean Gum, Gellan Gum, Monk Fruit Extract.

45 calories per 8 oz with 4g of fat.

Have you tried tea? I generally switch to green tea during the diet. I have had better success switching to tea, than trying substitutes for HWC.

If you can't face tea and MUST have coffee, try a single, smaller cup with a smaller amount of your heavy cream. My last round was a reshaping round with very little weight loss. I had one cup of coffee daily with HWC, then switched to tea.

Almond milk is not on protocol.

Using it would be an experiment.

I have done the salt in coffee before and have to say it really does make a difference in the coffee, takes away that bitterness significantly. You may want to try it, and use the serving of milk that is POP in your coffee as well.

Another suggestion: have you tried cold brewed coffee? It is much smoother, less acidic, and easy to make.

If you haven't done the hcg diet before, I suggest you follow the protocol. Leave out the "Califa" and HWC - you will have much better results.

Also, read the Dr Simeons "Pounds and Inches" manuscript so you understand why he developed the protocol. The members of this forum can attest it works.

Canned Evaporated Milk - 1 TBSP is enough to give it a smoothness in P2 with no effect on losses. I've also occasionally added a TBSP of Baileys Irish cream in P2 and had no effect on losses.
