I did that my first time around and I almost quit all together because I thought I totally blew it. Now the night I had a whole pint of dark beer I was up 2# the next morning and that was bad but a sip or two wouldn't have been. I feel it's better to "cheat" tiny than drive yourself nuts and end up binging on a whole cake.

I'm on my first VLCD and I'm feeling pretty good about this and because I know that 23 days isn't all that long I'm not that freaked out. I did better on my load days than I did last time so hopefully I won't feel that crash in day 3-4. Somehow I still lost about 1 1/2# but I'm guessing that's because Sunday was the last time I had any alcohol. Beer is a big source of empty calories. 1-2 pretty much every night after work adds up. After I'm done with this and can open my diet up again (with limitations) I'm going to cut it out during the week. There's just nothing bad that can come out of that. I don't get sloshed all the time but I really like dark craft beers and there's a brewery like 6 blocks from my house. Sooooooo many calories. Gotta jet, everyone have a great day!
shoeaddict - from everything I've read if you are going to cheat with alcohol - BEER - is a no go. There is something about the way it metabolizes and of course the hops/wheat in it - you might try the gluten free beers that may have a better result. From what I've learned you should drink 80 proof liquor like vodka and club soda. There are some that cheat with a glass or two of wine and skip their fruits - I'd skip wine as well - the way it metabolizes - you are better off with vodka or whiskey. I'm a cocktailer myself and usually do it at least every Thursday at my Ladies Golf League - I will keep you all posted to what happens on my weigh in Friday and Saturday after I have my vodka's on Thursday. It will be interesting to see if I need to totally give it up. Shyla.

Good Morning everyone, well, its been the 3rd day of no loss. I'm going to try the Apple day and hope that works.....any advice on that?

Oh, and cshyla, I'm doing the injections at .25cc. (Insulin needed filled to the 25 mark, hope thats right). How long have you been on it? Also, my nutrionist says if you MUST drink alcohol (which is a no no, you should stick to gin {juniper} and tequila {agava} he said the reason is those two dont contain ANY grains like vodka and whiskey. Those two metabolize naturally because they breakdown a ton easier then your standard grain based alcohol.

Shoeaddict: Hey girl hey!, I understand where you're coming from but "we got this". Have you tried an apple diet? And shoeaddict: cheers to us; just stick with the plan.

I'm hoping the force can stay strong with this one over the 4 day vacation!

I'm having a hard time with extreme hunger but powering through it. I dropped my HHCG dose by a couple drops today and hopefully that will help. I'm dying for sweets but strawberries with stevia make me happy. The fatigue isn't near as bad this time as last so that's a plus especially since I have a pretty physical job.
How's everyone doing with the start of their HCG adventure?
I really think you'll show better results doing RX hcg. If you need help on where to get it to mix it yourself, let me know. I'm loving the Ovidac. I did Hucog the 2nd time and I didn't get the same results, probably a bad batch from the pharmacy I ordered it from.

vdubb - I'm so happy for your weight loss so far - it's awesome! Since you have a tendency to go off protocol perhaps you should look on the Rogue site to see if there are any options that you can make and eat to replace those things that have a tendency to take you off protocol. I hear people talk about cocoacrack and other things like that, so you might be able to find options that would keep you on track but give you a cheat that won't affect the weight loss. Just a suggestion. I'm not a sweet eater - my downfall's are the chips or anything savory/salty.

There are a lot of people who do modified versions of the diet and do quite well, I guess the thought is that since the protocol was created in the 50's so many other things have become available for people to eat that won't affect the loss. Just my 2 cents. Shyla.

    CHEAT DAY (vlcd 7) 265.1
    VLCD 8: 266.2
I agree - how could you not try the cake your 6 year old made - how sweet! You'll do just fine once you get back on the wagon. Like I suggested to vdubb - check out the sites that have recipes to help with your cravings for things not on the protocol. It seems to work for people. Shyla.

I'm worried about the fat around my under my armpit (side moobs). I'm sure that will come! Its good to not have a belly sticking out when you put your seat belt on. Yay!
vdubb - your weight loss is inspiring - how are you administering your hcg?

I had not heard about the gin and tequila thing - hmmm - interesting. Those are two liquors I used to love but have found they are not good for me - I do and say things I shouldn't when drinking either. LOL!! I'm assuming your injections are just right. I did my first round back in 2008 on what I found out was a homeopathic bottle of drops - I struggled and never made it to P3. The second time was in 2009 - I ordered hucog and mixed my own for sublingual drops with b12 and colloidal silver - I did way better that time but wasn't committed so therefore sabotaged myself after my 15 lb weight loss and gave up instead of getting back on the horse. This time I wanted to do the shots but my husband is the one who wanted to do this and at the weight loss clinic it was going to cost us $2100 together, plus he didn't want to do the shots so I told him that I will order it for a lot less money and mix our own. I'm loving it this time! I know it's only my VLCD-3 today but it's the best I've felt ever doing the protocol, plus this is the most I've lost in such a short period of time - from Monday morning to this morning I'm down 8.8 lbs so I'm really motivated! My husband, who I thought wouldn't be able to last this long is down about 9 lbs and he seems really excited about it. I agree with you mentioning the apple day for shoeaddict - but I think she may want to switch to the RX version - from personal experience it works better for me - I wish I was doing the shots but next time when I don't have to worry about my husband. I'd also like to try the MIC-Lipo injections as well - I plan on ordering some from NuImage sometime in the future, especially during the P3 stage. My final P2 date is June 29th or June 30th for 46 day round I believe. I lost 50 lbs doing Atkins years ago and it appears as if P3 is basically that. The key to P3 is no sugars and carbs and I know I can lose weight that way. I'm usually such a quitter, but I'm determined this time so I plan on spending as much time being motivated by people like you and the others on this site to help me stick it out. I didn't take advantage of this forum when I became a member of it in 2009. I was considering surgery but have decided I'd try this first and see what happens. I plan on doing 3 rounds - how about the rest of you? Shyla.
