anybody gain all the weight back plus more?

Help! lol i'm considering a 6 week round of this diet, but am very very very afraid that it's the same as other super strict diets i have been on, where after i went off, it was like i got hit by a fat-truck the weight came on so fast, PLUS MORE

i have read people saying that gaining weight is fast and easy after stepping off the strict low cal part

i have HAD weight loss surgery, but i'm not losing weight because i'm always hungry...

i just wish there was some sort of pill to take away my hunger

    any advice?

anybody that has gained the weight back plus more?

    pray tell?

    thanks you guys!

This is the only diet that has ever worked for me and kept the weight off. if you'd had weight loss surgery and regained, it's likely you have food intolerances to items like gluten and dairy. So you will need to be very careful.

Phentermine is a good appetite suppressant. It works for lots of people. You actually have to make yourself eat. However, figuring out the reason why you're "hungry" all the time is probably more beneficial in the long run. I finally realized I was an emotional eater. Once I started paying attention to the reason why I went for more food, I discovered my triggers and started working from there to fix the problem. if you're up to the challenge, journaling can help you be more aware of your triggers just an idea!

Wow, I am shocked and appalled that someone would suggest an appetite suppressant. I think the point of this diet, for me, is to HEAL my body. People seem to have a lot of success when they eat nutrient dense, nourishing foods. I know that my journey is not done, even though I am almost done with HCG. My plan for health is to follow a nutrient dense diet that eventually doesn't prohibit properly prepared carbs (sourdough, soaked, fermented, and the occasional indulgence in others).
Key word searches on this forum:
    leptin reset
    primal
    paleo
    grammy (and hormone testing)
    WAPF

If I could point you to resources outside of this forum they would be The Weston A Price Foundation and the book The Diet Cure. I don't know much about hormone testing, I have never had the money to get it done, but I have a strong feeling that it will play a role in your healing!

We aren't meant to be hungry all the time. We are meant to nourish our bodies with food. Don't just brush off the value of food and say that it is all emotional- sometimes your body is showing you that you need nourishing! This country is fat and starving at the same time.

Diet pills are NOT the solution!

Phentermine is a horrible drug. Once you lose your weight, I'd suggest you check out doing a leptin reset. That will fix your hunger. There's a subforum here about it. Good luck!

I wish I could answer this for you... but I will say, its like every other diet out there. YOu cant go back to eating like you did (depending on how you ate, especially if you have food intolerance's, eat ff or junk food, ect) you have to make life style changes! Good luck!

I took Phentermine years ago. I wasn't even overweight at the time. Dr's gave it out to who ever wanted it at that time. I did lose weight from it, but I did regain it all back plus more once I stopped taking it. Your body Also developes a tolerance to it and after a while it stops working. Those types of pills are not worth it. They are only a quick fix. Who wants to Lose weight and have it only be temporary?? Weight loss needs to be a complete lifestyle change and it requires dedication and the mind set that says "I want this". You can do it because you Have succeeded before.

I did this diet a year ago and lost 16 pounds. I felt great and felt good about myself for the first time in years. I was naughty and completely went off the deep end and ate whatever I wanted, started drinking mountain dew again everyday and gained 10 pounds back. I am very disgusted with myself because I completely blew it. I hate feeling bad about myself and i hate that i put myself back in that situation of having a low self esteem. I am back on it again to lose what i put back on
Plus lose an extra 10 Pounds if I can. There are so many ladies on here that will support you and help you through this again. You can do it!! Buddy up with me if you want! We can do this together

i lost 20 pounds, gained back 40 on my first round. that was my fault entirely for going back to old habits.
i've been stabilizing on the second round

well, it doesn't sound all that good to me, sounds like any other diet that you have to stay on forever (ie. 'make lifestyle changes') or you'll gain all the weight back plus a whole lot more, and i can't afford to gain weight after going to all the trouble of having surgery...

and no, i can't take speed, i have anxiety disorder and it would make my head explode!

i'm thinking i will just try and go organic and vegetarian and see what happens... i do think i have to start juicing or something to get more nutrients in tho, you're right about nutrient dense food...

i just watched a movie called 'hunger for change' and it's interesting but gives no clear direction really

ok, i will ask my doc about a leptin test thanks y'all!!! elainexoxoxox

You must make lifestyle changes to lose weight and keep it off permanently. There is no miracle that allows you eat whatever you like, as you found out with surgery. Most people who have surgery regain it because they don't change anything. Vegetarian eating is about the worst thing for you. You'd be better off to check out paleo eating. With your chronic weight problem, you almost certainly should never eat gluten and vegetarian diets are heavy in pasta and wheat products.

It's not a diet you stay on forever. But when you go to maintenance, you learn what makes YOU gain. And you learn how to eat properly for your body. You just don't understand it. I suggest you read Pounds and Inches.

well pretty much everything makes me fat, i HAVE changed my 'lifestyle' since surgery, i eat much less and don't eat stuff like chocolate anymore, i'm trying to eat less processed foods, etc

i will look into the paleo diet, thanks so much... i didn't mean vegetarian like pasta and such, i would get sick with yeast beast from that...

and i will read 'pounds and inches'... i have it, i'm just so durned tired, from not getting enuff nutrients i guess...

    thanks again!

oh gosh, i don't even think you can BUY grass fed meat in Canada, you can buy organic but i don't think that's the same thing, and my husband would KILL ME and cook me up for dinner if i asked for organic meat in that amount, he was looking for an organic chicken breast to make me some soup i was craving, and he found half a chicken breast, for $18!!!! it's sick that they poison our food supply and then kill us financially just to have a tiny bit of non poisoned food...

anyway, i do think it's the chemicals, like MSG and such that affect me badly, not rice and such, i do know that processed white flour and pasta is bad for me, but not rice, i once ate a diet of basically chicken, fish, rice and vegetables and NOTHING processed at all, nothing that came mixed with anything else, in a package, you know? and i ate a ton on that diet, and i dropped 40 lbs before i even NOTICED, i have searched high and low for the food list, but can't find it again... the paleo diet does sound good, but i would add rice and not try and worry about what the animals were fed... coz i have never once seen 'grass fed' written on a package in canada...

anyway, thanks, i'm just going to try to get back to 'real food' i guess, and i might do a round or two of this HCG thing, but if i gain weight after going off of it, somebody is gonna pay lolol
