Thread: anybody gain all the weight back plus more?

  1. #13
Elaine, Are you telling us you never read Pounds and Inches? It really should be REQUIRED reading for anyone on this program. It is the manual. HCG is not a quick fix and then you can gorge on whatever you want afterwards and keep the weight off. HCG helps us to lose fat but then we must become conscious eaters and aware of what foods causes our individual bodies to gain, stall, etc. This is why P3/4 is so critical, in addition to simply adjusting our eating habits.

This is an AMAZING program. I am so grateful for HCG and how much it's changed my body, cravings and perspective about food.

It WORKS, if we play by the rules found in Pounds and Inches.

HI, read weight loss apocalypse !! its amazing and explains the science that was lacking when Dr S wrote Pounds and inches..

    It also combats emotional eating..

THis protocol DOES work. However - if you are eating for non- hungry reasons you will gain it back . This would happen on ANy diet.

she also has youtube VLOG that you can watch under the same title.

Soooo worth reading.. If you want to have a healthy relationship with food I would recommend reading her book..

Eating rice and conventional meat is NOT paleo. It makes no sense to have a half-baked version of paleo, since that might make matters worse - high-fat and high-carb is not a recipe for success.

Google "leaky gut" for starters. Read up on what crap is in conventional meat. Conventional meat is high in Omega-6, among other things, and cannot be subbed for grass-fed - it is not the same thing, nowhere close. And vegetarians have the worst diet, since grains, no matter if whole or not, are deadly to your body. As for grass-fed - you can usually order that, or check with your local farmers or supermarket. I am in Germany, and can either get some cuts in our high-end supermarket, or order in batches online. Of course it is crazy expensive - but would you rather eat sick, overweight, toxic animals? If all else fails, switch to wild-caught fish, that is cheaper.

That said... the initial question was about HCG. It works like a charm, but no diet in the world can allow you to go back to eating crap and foods that you are (usually unknowingly) sensitive to. You will most likely notice severe food sensitivities when re-introducing foods in Phase 3 and 4. And if you don't stay away from those cuplrits, you will blow up again. Easy as can be.

hehe, i'm about 1/2 way thru 'pounds and inches'... i'm finding it very intriqueing but yeah, my eyes get tired, so does the rest of me

and i will look for 'weight loss apocolypse' esp the youtube channel coz watching vids doesn't make me tired thank you soooo much!

and sweetiepie, i never said anything about me doing the paleo diet, but will try to eat as close as possible to NATURAL whole foods... i'm a Christian and don't know if i believe all Darwin's theories anyway lol and the REASON i wanted to give up meat was because of nasty factory farming practices, so i know how disgusting it is... if phase 3 and 4 will point out what i'm sensitive to, that's great... i remember going off my last horrifically strict diet, and i had a teaspoon of peanut butter and gained 7 freakin' lbs... does that mean i'm sensitive? i guess so huh?

the diet i intend on eating after the HCG is a fresh vegetable/fruit juice in the morning to get my vitamins, and a salad for lunch, and my husband will come home and cook meat and veggies, and yes rice or potatoes with as natural ingredients as possible... and if i gain weight on that, then i officially give up

Yup, it means you are sensitive. Considering that a) peanuts aren't even nuts, but legumes, and b) PB usually contains large amounts of mold, not all that surprising. Many switch to almond butter instead, by the way. And you can make some mean bread-like things with almond and coconut flour; gluten generally is not ideal.

The least you can try down the road is keep carbs and fat far apart. And if possible eat no carbs at night. That is just not in line with how your body functions, no matter if you believe in evolutionary biology or not.

But first, let's get you on hcg. If you go for homeopathic, be very careful not to buy fake drops. It should say "hcg 6x 12 30x" or something similar on the label. If you go for Rx, the better... injections are really no big deal, and you only have to remember once a day - or use it sublingual twice a day.

The protocol really isn't that difficult. You start with hcg, then load for two days while taking it, while the hcg builds up to a necessary level in your body. Loading preferrably means fats and proteins, but you can also stuff your face with things you might miss. The third day, you start with 500cal a day, from allowed foods.

    That's straight from the protocol:

Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.

    1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

    2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

    3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

    4. An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

    Dinner :
The same four choices as lunch (above.)

I did better dropping the fruit and grissini after the first week, upping my protein a bit instead. I also didn't mix beef and tomates, and usually ate fish for my second meal when doing beef. This is not like a regular diet. You cannot make deals or start changing stuff. I even stalled when adding onions to some of my veggies.

This is done for 30-40 days; it is best to do at least 30 VLCD to stabilize well. Afterwards, you stop HCG, and continue eating VLCD for 48 (hhcg) or 72 (Rx) hours. And then... 3 weeks of P3, with no sugars or starches, and 3 weeks of P4, where you can slowly introduce these, if you want. Many of us switch to paleo, so actually stay on P3 for life.

The greatest advantage is the absence of hunger or cravings - if your dose is right. I felt crap for two days, with headaches, when detoxing from carbs. And then... nothing. I managed a bachelorette party on P2, a wedding on P3. No trouble whatsoever. I was just not hungry - now in P3, my eating has changed dramatically. Since I never cheated, I still have no carb cravings. Put me in front of chocolate, I wouldn't care. I eat way less than I did before, because I actually have a realistic feeling of being full again. I haven't done the leptin reset afterwards, since I am pretty sure just one month of HCG already took care of that.

Talk to me again in a year, obviously - that will be the deal breaker. Sticking to paleo will be what will hopefully keep my healthy after my 4-5 rounds of hcg.... but I know that I need to stick to it.

well thank you so much for all that info! i doubt that i will have the ability to go paleo after, we just can't get/afford that kind of food, and plus after a while, i just don't feel satisfied without rice or something in my diet... i'm watching those videos right now, that woman is a bit scary haha but yeah, i guess i will try this HCG diet at the end of the month, as i feel that i have quite a bit to learn first, and mentally prepare... one thing that i am happy about is that i had the weight loss surgery so that i don't eat tons after, now it's just a matter of finding what i'm sensitive to...

i do believe in evolution, just more MICRO evolution, than the darwin idea that everything came from slime, then turned into dinosaurs etc...

i also don't believe adam and eve were the first people on earth, coz remember when their kids fought and cain killed abel, and God sent cain away? and cain complained that people would meet him on the road and kill him... what people? if adam and eve were the first?

so anyway, i think i'll just 'let the mystery be' lol

also i've heard about this diet not leaving you with saggy skin after the loss, and if it saves me 20 grand in a tummy tuck, and all the pain and suffering that goes with a tummy tuck, i'm down wid dat lol

if you can afford paleo food, and are a cook, then that sort of 'atkins' type diet is easy to stick to for a long time, i was on a diet like that for years because of having systemic yeast

anyway, thanks again, i'm going back to watching the videos lol

Ooh, talking torah. Genesis actually doesn't say that there were *only* Cain and Abel, we presume there were other sisters - one midrash says that Abel was a triplet, and Cain a twin.

  8. #20
well then why didn't cain say that his brothers or sisters or 'family' would kill him? not just 'people on the road' lol

ok that chick from the weight loss apolcalypse videos is driving me nuts, i think she is mostly in it for her, and her idea that she is helping people, rather than actually helping people lol

she seems incredibly self centred and is telling HER stories, occaisionally coming up for air to make sure the person being 'interviewed' agrees with her...

anyway, i don't think i'm going to buy her book or watch her stuff anymore, i don't want that spirit on me lol (not talking torah, just don't want bad ideas in my head)

anywhere else to get good info on this diet? hmmm?

It is actually "whoever finds me will slay me". And Adam had many sons and daughters; incest was actually only outlawed after Mount Sinai.

I am unsure if you need any other book. Pounds and Inches has it all, and the gapy are filled in by the forum.

I don't really know why I am replying but for some reason feel compelled to. About a year ago, I too was very tired. I really had no idea what I was going to do with myself because in spite of my very best efforts I just kept gaining weight. I had no energy. Nothing was working. It seemed I would gain weight just looking at food, still gaining even when cutting intake down to 1200 cals a day. Somehow I stumbled across HCG and P&I, and it was intriguing to say the least. I found this forum and figured out how to find/order it. and I embarked on what has been quite a remarkable journey. Once I set my mind on what I was going to do, I told my Husband. I expected him to scoff and be skeptical. Much to my surprise he asked if he could join me. So here we are one year later... our combined losses total over 170 pounds. We are much healthier and much happier. I am so thankful to find the information on HCG and it has worked when nothing else could. My Husband tried Phentermine a couple of times in the past prior to HCG. He took the pills and dropped tons of weight. Unfortunately it made him irritable, difficult to live with and miserable and once he stopped taking it, he put all the weight plus more back on. I am thrilled after several rounds of HCG, we have had no problems stabilizing. I can eat more food now than I have been able to in years. I am not tired and sad anymore. I am living the life I had 20-30 years ago and enjoying myself.

I will say there is no diet on earth that is so forgiving that you can do it then return to your old eating habits without regaining weight. However, if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired and ready to make a change, HCG can help you. I am no longer addicted to carbs, soda, and all those awful things that used to hold me captive. I have given up a lot of foods I once thought I couldn't live without. I no longer care about them... So that is my experience. I hope it helps.

On paleo you can eat 3 meals per week "off protocol" and still reap the health benefits of 100% compliance. So in other words you could have rice or potato 3 meals per week. But you couldn't eat them every day and get the awesome health benefits. If man made it,don't eat it is our mantra. LOL Man grows and harvests rice. Adam and Eve ate what was growing naturally and ate meat. So berries, veggies, fruit, etc. Most rice is highly processed. My blood work has gotten amazing since I went paleo a year ago. I'd been trying to get the inflammation down in my body for literally over 15 years. My c-reactive protein plummeted to .1. And my homocysteine level fell into the normal range. FINALLY!

Your meat is probably fine in Canada. It's only U.S. meat that's grown in such a crappy way and has so much of the wrong kind of fat. What we tend to see her on the forum is that when people travel to Europe or out of the country, they eat what's there and return lighter than when they went. If they go on a cruise, that's different because they generally overeat. But staying active and eating natural meat, veggies and fruits is how our bodies are meant to be fed.

And with your weight problem you are either insulin resistant or verging to diabetes and don't know it yet. Grains are the worst things you can eat when you have insulin resistance. But only you can decide to take charge of yourself and get healthy. It's not hard. I actually didn't change my lifestyle after hcg because I've eaten low carb for a lot of years. so the only thing I changed was ADDING lots more fats. As we speak, I'm having my morning cup of coffee with 2T of unsalted butter and 1 tsp of MCT oil. All blended together. It is the color of coffee with cream and is so rich and yummy. I have two cups of that a day. I've added lots of coconut oil and butter to my life.

Your coffee still sounds weird. But - will try coffee with coconut oil in a sec, just to see if I can.

Germany is awful for conventional meat by the way. Especially poultry is impossible to eat, as most of the German/ European market is cornered by one single supplier (Wiesenhof) - and since we all want cheap, that's what we get. Horrid conditions, fed on genetically manipulated soy, and loaded with anitibiotics. They produce app. 270 million (!) chicken a year. After less than 4 months, they weigh 22 lbs and are ready for slaughter. Pork isn't much better, just more difficult to kick, throw, and abuse. Beef... depends. We mostly have the option of getting fresh cuts, and those are okay - still finished on grains, but pretty good. The second you enter the discount supermarkets, that all goes to hell, obviously.

Which is one reason I am also hesitant of envying you Trader Joe's. It is an American brand of Aldi, the largest discount chain in Germany. You couldn't pay me to buy there, since they have the most unethical business practices around.

But, enough of our disgusting food production. Just saying that it isn't much better over here. Not surprising, since the percentage of the monthly income spent on food has been dropping dramatically over the last 50 years. 40% in the 60s, still 20% in the 70s, and only 10% now. Plus we throw away more food than ever before.
