Thread: Giant Apples

    Giant Apples

When I shop for apples they are so big! I look for the smallest ones I can find but think they may be too big. I am on day 4 of VLCD.

There is no set size of apple you can have. Its up to you. You just can't have two at one meal.

I generally try to buy a size that works out to around 80 calories (or less) of my 500, but sometimes they are bigger, and then I adjust the calories by using a lower calorie veggie that day.

How do you calculate the calories in a apple?

You can find calorie calculators online that will calculate the calories per ounce. You will need a food scale and Google to figure it out.

I have an excel spreadsheet I use that calculates it automatically according to what you input.
    Download for Leez's spreadsheet:

There is a topic that has an even more sophisticated spreadsheet for tracking all kinds of things.

I buy the biggest Honeycrisp or Red Delicious Apples I can find. I usually eat one for breakfast on P2 sometime between 9-10am, and always have a good loss.

I don't eat a second apple or any other fruit though if I've had a gigantic apple .
