    New to the HCG Diet

Hi! My name is Linda and I finished my "Loading Days" yesterday and am beginning the 500 calorie phase of the program. Is this considered Phase 2? Also, I am getting my HCG injections from a medical weight loss center and they gave me a list of instructions. On the food list they have Egg Whites and Green Beans and I did not see these on this site's food list. Are they okay to eat? Also after reading this site I find it weird that the instructions they gave me say it is preferred that I eat mixed vegetables. That seems wrong according to what I have read about the HGC diet. Am I just getting to picky about the rules? Can somebody help me? Thanks!

Some hcg people stay strictly protocol not mixing veggies and no eating certain foods not listed on Simeons diet. I have done both and my resukts were very similar. I followed the list the clinic gave me which was including broccoli and cauliflower ... i didnt realize till my second round thatni wasnt following the orignal protocol. There are several groups here. As youmstarted loading in Sept there is a group Slim and Sexy Loaders and lots of cnversation and encouragement going on and also Leez has an Octobers loaders group, It is helpful if you follow these for encouragements and help, Much success to you

i have done 4 rounds over 6 years and done only strict original protocol. I am now doing 2.0 and it allows for more veggies, some mixing and more protein, but you do need to keep your veggie carbs under 30 and I think it is no fruit...so I would check out both the 2.0 protocol and the original and see what works best for you.

    uh oh I messed up!

    Hi April,
What happens if you mess up one time? I have been doing the diet perfectly and always staying at about 490 calories everyday and then yesterday I don't know what happened and I totally messed up and ate some peanut butter and tortilla chips . Is it going to really mess up the HCG hormone and it will be like starting over? Thank you!

Hi and thank you for responding to my post. Can you tell me what happens if I mess up one day? I was going great and sticking to it perfectly and then yesterday I don't know what happened but I ate peanut butter and tortilla chips . Will it totally mess up the HCG hormone and be like starting over? Thank you!

just get back on the horse so to speak.
Some of us have moved to 2.0 and it helps with some of that, at least it helps me. I would do my best if you need a little something extra to try to keep it within the same foods and not much of it. I would drink a lot of water, tea, coffee whatever it takes. Remember that some of what we are doing it helping to form habits, not grabbing for things like PB and chips when we have a need to fill. What you need to ask yourself were you hungry or bored..or was there another reason you grabbed for those things.

sometimes people see a second day gain from a cheat, this diet is sensitive to those things.

It's not uncommon in that first round especially to hit a wall and mess up a day. But all is not lost! You might see a gain and you'll likely see a stall of a few days but you'll start losing again and everything will be okay.

But I wouldn't be moving to 2.0 unless you just can't handle the standard protocol. The original protocol works for EVERYONE while the other variations only work for some. The younger you are the more likely 2.0 MIGHT work but it depends on things like thyroid and adrenal health. Very low carbs can really trash your adrenals/thyroid. And we know the original protocol rests the hypothalamus properly. The older you are, the less likely it is that 2.0 will work for you. It didn't work for me at all and many others I know.

Only you can decide for yourself what you want to do though.

    Good luck!
