Question Help with all the Veggies!!!

Hello All! I am starting my gorge on Saturday and I am VERY excited. I am getting married on September 7th and went to the doctor to see about appetite supressents and she turned me on the the HCG diet. It should be perfect for helping me get into the smaller sized dress in the beginning and getting to my goal weight in the long term. HOWEVER, please help me with suggestions on how to season your veggies? I know I should not have butter or dairy but I just can't imagine eating cauliflower, or broccoli without sometime of seasoning. Any suggestions would be great. I have ordered some Walden Farms Dressings but what else can I do?

To be honest, I don't really like veggies. I can stand cucumbers, onions, cauliflower and lettuce. OH LORD HELP ME! LOL

    Regards,

    Cher

I have a hard time with veggies also but I try to vary the spices I use and I also have made my own P2 friendly - lemon vinegarette salad dressing. I use MCT Oil which doesn't cause me any issues with my losses. I eat mostly salads. A few of the other things I do is saute shredded cabbage or 'frozen' chopped spinach.
I make Cauliflower "rice" which I saute with a little onion and garlic and other spices like Mrs. Dash. It is really good.

I've also spent alot of time on the website of Chef Toni [hcgdietrecipesmadesimple.com] - Her recipes are delicious and she has P3 recipes also.
Shout Out to Chef Toni - Love your recipes.

I can vouch for Mrs. Dash .... the greatest thing EVER... and they have so many different varieties now .... I steam my veggies with extra spicy Mrs Dash and it works wonders (for me) Mrs Dash on a piece or chicken or lean pork and then on the George Forman Grill and its like heaven ... its funny how things taste so good when we start cooking simply and dont have our usual "crap" that we eat normally (well thats how I find it) :-)

Welcome! I highly recommend you read Pounds & Inches if you haven't already. If the plan in P&I differs from the one your doctor gave you, I would recommend following P&I for best success. http://hcgdietinfo.com/HCG_Diet_Simeons_Manuscript.htm

As for vegetables, neither broccoli nor cauliflower are allowed on protocol. You can use Walden Farms products if they don't cause stalls for you and if you are comfortable eating that type of food. You can season your vegetables with herbs, salt, pepper, etc, or try a squeeze of lemon. I make soup or chili a lot in P2. I like cooking asparagus with water, salt, pepper, garlic and thyme, then pureeing it with a squeeze of fresh lemon for cream of asparagus soup, for example. For lettuce, I often make a dressing of mustard powder, a squeeze of orange juice and some herbs, or I make ranch dressing with dill, chives, parsley, vinegar and a tablespoon of milk.

Thanks everyone. I am glad that I posted this, because I noticed exactly what you said...no broccoli or cauliflower. I am so thankful for this site. As you can see, I am definitely a newbie! lol I will have to try the ranch dressing made wil dill, chives, parsley, vinegar and the tablespoon of skim milk. I am a ranch freak! Hopefully this will be tasty. :-)

Thanks! I will try Mrs. Dash. I had used it once before when I was on weight watchers. I forgot how great it used to taste. :-)

Tasty might be an exaggeration, but it moistens the lettuce

If you like spicy, then Old Bay can be your friend. I use it on chicken and seafood and veggies too. But be sure to read the label to make sure you get the correct one. One has sugar and one doesn't.
