Thread: Newbie says Hello!

    Newbie says Hello!

Hi, So I have my telemedicine appt tomorrow and then in theory my HCG will be on its way!

I am 48 yrs old and have Hashimoto's (I am on NPThroid) and my weight is just impossible for me to control anymore. My weight was 135 for years and I am now at 175. For a while I could lose by fasting but now even fasting isn't working.

    I am really nervous!

I am hoping to 1. Meet others who are about to start this protocol and find some support
    2. Get advice as I start this. I am nervous about injections, about the food choices--it seems so complicated. Also not very appetizing.

I am doing this because I just do not want to be fat and old already!

    Hi radst and welcome.

I was where you are with the thyroid issues and not even fasting working anymore. HCG was my miracle. Its been ten years since I started this HCG journey and I'm maintaining at a healthy weight. Even though I had periods where I did gain some, it was never back up to the 210 I was when I started HCG. I've done a couple short rounds since, and I stay between 135-145, currently about 138. My last "get back to goal" round was in 2018.

I think you'll find your anxiousness will dissipate quickly once you start into your round. The injections are quick and pretty much painless, and you'll feel satisfied on the simple plain foods allowed because the HCG will be doing its work and you won't be hungry. Prepare everything fresh if you can. It makes a huge difference in the level of enjoyment you can have from the limited menu.

Here's my best tip for injecting: Touch with your needle near your navel but at least an inch and a half away until you find a spot that doesn't pinch. The difference can be as small as a quarter inch away. Inject there. It will be painless, and you won't get a bruise. Something I learned from a childrens diabetic forum.

Hi! Ok! I am feeling better--but I do have a question about doe and length of time--I am going to start at 150? That seems reasonable? and I purchased 2 5,000 HCG. So, if I mix one i get 33 doses. Can I go 66 days back-to-back (provided I can last that long?) I really do want to be strict on the protocol so that if it doesn't work I know it's the diet and not my compliance. Should I have ordered 6,000 instead? I dont think they have shipped it yet....

The recommended max amount is 40 injections. Possible if you do skip days once a week you can stretch it a tiny bit but your not going to want to develop immunity. If you still have more to lose you are better sticking to protocol for recommended time and wait at least 6 weeks between next round. Leez prob more knowledgeable in this area but that is what I recall.

Rose is right. 40 dose days is the maximum round. The round is longer than that because you do one weekly skip day to avoid immunity for the longest round. You might have additional skip days for dose testing, or for women--heavy days of the monthly cycle.

Please read the manuscript before you start. Your provider has not given you the correct information. There is a link in the top menu bar. Specifically check the allowed food list. Most providers are expanding the options.

This article will help you understand why you need to observe the maximum round limit, and the importance of the waiting times between rounds.

150iu is a good starting dose. If you encounter strong hunger, we can help you adjust your dose. You did not make a mistake in ordering the 5000iu vials. You should mix the second vial at your halfway point. Alternately, you can do a 33 day round, and use the second bottle for another 33 day round. You'll just have to be aware that the HCG can lose some potency after about 3 weeks to 30 days.

When you mix, please mix in a 1:2 ratio (5000iu to 10ml bacteriostatic water) you will then pull to .3 or 30 on your U-100 insulin syringe to get a dose of 150iu. Mixing at this ratio will allow your dosing to be more accurate, and the extra water seems to help the HCG disperse better in your tissues. You will likely have to purchase a sterile vial to hold the mixture.

    Hi, and welcome!

Sometimes you can experience some hunger if you didn't load with enough fats. Even if you loaded well, it is not unusual to have some hunger the first few days as your body adjusts, however it should not be painful.

Painful hunger is usually a sign that your dose is not right. Can you please tell us what delivery method you are using and the dose you are taking?

Yes, its important to know the dose you are taking before we try to make any adjustments. Make sure to find out how many IUs your dose is. The amount you pull in the syringe is not important, because it depends on what ratio was used to mix your HCG.

Leez is absolutely the best coach you could ask for, she gives the best advice. And encouragement. Good luck, and once you settle into the protocol, you will find it is not bad at all. In fact the food is healthy, good for you. The hcg will eliminate hunger and craving as long as your dose is correct. Injections are easy to give. I love the hcg protocol. View it as a journey, not a destination, a learning experience, because you can learn so much during the journey. I recommend going back and reading a lot of old threads on the forum pages for inspiration receipes, advice, you can learn a lot that way. I used the forum that way this year. You'll find it is busy some times and not as busy at others. But a very helpful tool. At 48 you are still very young and should not be feeling old at all, so if weight is dragging you down, now is the time to get this done, and hcg is a wonderfull tool to help you get rid of unwanted fat, and help you feel healthier and younger. Good luck on your journey. I'm more than 20 years older than you, and this year have lost 55 lbs on hcg protocol and feel like I'm 48! If I can do it, you can too! Have fun, enjoy the process!
