    Newbie! Intro & Ques

Hello! This will be my first time trying the HCG diet. I read Simeon's manuscript and loved the physiology behind it, so I am really excited to try it! I will get my HCG drops tomorrow and start Wednesday. I have a few questions please!
    - I am looking to lose about 20 lbs. Do I do Phase 2 until I have lost 20 lbs (min 21 days, max 40) or will I continue to lose weight over Phase 3?
    - The manuscript says all food should be boiled or grilled to avoid oil. Obviously we can also steam. Is air fryer ok? Any other suggestions for cooking methods?
    - It say no cosmetics. That's ok, I am home in isolation haha. But what about hand lotion? Face lotion? chapstick?
I think that is all for now. Really glad I found this forum. I was a raw foodist for a few years about a decade ago and transitioning to that diet was so much easier with a support forum. So thank you to all of you!!

Welcome to your next amazing adventure. ^_^ The HCG protocol is really pretty compatible with a clean eating mindset. You basically eat plain, unprocessed whole foods in a very narrow variety range. It should be pretty easy with your raw food background.

    - I am looking to lose about 20 lbs. Do I do Phase 2 until I have lost 20 lbs (min 21 days, max 40) or will I continue to lose weight over Phase 3?
You can stop anytime after the 23rd dose day or before the 40th dose day. We do observe that rounds that are at least 30 dose days tend to produce the most solid stabilization.

You should not be losing weight in P3. P3 is about 21 days to stabilize your new setpoint. To do that, you need to stay within a 2 pound range of your ending weight from P2.

    - The manuscript says all food should be boiled or grilled to avoid oil. Obviously we can also steam. Is air fryer ok? Any other suggestions for cooking methods?
Air fryer is fine, just don't add oils. In my rounds I wore out one or two George Foreman grills. I found that meats and veggies tasted awesome when grilled that way.

    - It say no cosmetics. That's ok, I am home in isolation haha. But what about hand lotion? Face lotion? chapstick?
Any lotion that remains on the skin should be oil-free. Good ones: Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer, Corn Huskers lotion. There are tons of others. Anything that you use and then rinse off can be your regular brands including soaps, shampoo. Just be careful with any leave-in products. Chapstick is fine. Its not oil. Lip balms are usually petroleum based or beeswax. Both are ok on P2.

Please note that any suggestions I make are based on the Original Protocol.
