Thread: Phase 2 cooking

    Question Phase 2 cooking

So, I have been researching phase 2 recipes to shake things up a little because just plain chicken and white fish with a few steamed vegetables is getting pretty boring. I have found several recipes for soup and other things that call for either chicken/beef broth and sauteing meats with garlic and onion. I know the manuscript doesn't say anything about broth and I know you aren't supposed to mix vegetables so I am a bit confused. Also, I have also read about people making dessert recipes with plain Greek yogurt and that is obviously not on protocol either.

Can any of these things stall weight loss? Others don't seem to think so because of the plethora of recipes I have found; But I am in dire need of recipes that I can make that will still give me the max weight loss benefits of the HCG. Also, the last couple of days I was running out of my precooked protein (chicken and fish) and I had to replace one meal with 3.5 oz cottage cheese, one with a hard boiled egg and then I completely ran out of chicken and fish yesterday so I had one whole egg mixed with 3 more egg whites. I know these things are allowed only once in a while but I have still had a 3.6 lb loss over the past 2 days and hoping that the next few there isn't a stall.... I also don't like too many vegetables and my once beloved spinach is getting old quick. I just like the idea they have more fiber than the other vegetables on the protocol and I have read that including more fiber on phase 2 really helps your losses. Is that true?

Also, I read something about people stabilizing their weight in phase 3 better if they cut out at least one fruit a day in phase 2. I don't know what to believe anymore lol...... I am so confused Any insightful information would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

You can try reading this cookbook - Phase 2 recipes by Tammy Skye - Original Protocol

It has some good recipes and info

We are all different, so even with the foods on Protocol, each one of us may react differently to some of the choices.

I don't do tomatoes or shrimp. I also only do the apple or oranges, not strawberries. Only eat beef at one of the meals, never twice. I goofed that up once, until I seen Grammy posted about the beef. I sometimes do chicken twice a day, and cook it in lemon juice , ginger juice or cilantro and seasonings. Once I get a browned tinge on it, I like it.

I make up my own salad dressing vinaigrette, and use it on my veggies.

I think you just have to find what works for you, not others and stay on protocol if you can. Good LUck

Thanks so much! I will check that out!

Do tomatoes, shrimp and strawberries give you stalls? Or do you just not like them? I don't even want to try eating beef because I am too afraid of the outcome.... But I should try doing those things to my chicken... I put a teaspoon of green salsa on it today for a different flavor.... It didn't have any added oil or sugar so I am hoping I will be safe with such a small amount...

How do you make your own vinaigrette? I would love to know

Everyone is different. I lose really well on 96% lean beef. I also lose well on strawberries and shrimp. I eat strawberries every day. I’ve been thinking recently that cabbage may be a problem for me and MAYBE tomatoes. Not sure yet, but keeping a close eye on days I eat those now. However, if you don’t lose or even have a small gain on a day, it doesn’t necessarily mean you did anything wrong. You will have some of those days. It’s all a part of the process. You really just have to pay attention to your logs (weight/food) and after a few rounds you’ll start to notice patterns. For example, there are certain weights that when I reach them, I usually always have a stall for a few days.

Wow that's great! I haven't tried eating beef yet so maybe I will have to try that! I also like strawberries because of their low calorie content and I can never get sick of shrimp.... I will have to find some good beef recipes ...... Thank you!

HI Lexius. Yes they give me stalls. Like justglitterdone, I can do beef. I also do chicken and fish as well. I make my own vinaigrette in this recipe

    Code:
    Vinaigrette Dressing

    Ingredients

    1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
    1/2 cup water
    2 shakes celery salt
    2 shakes onion salt
    Ground pepper to taste
    3 Pkg stevia

    recipe 2

    1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water, to taste (will depend on how "strong" you like the cv flavor)
1/2 teaspoon sea salt, to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, to taste
    3/4 teaspoon garlic, to taste
    1/2 teaspoon stevia, to taste
1 teaspoon dried oregano, to taste
    1/2 teaspoon cumin, to taste
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)
