    New questions

Ok, so I've heard that you aren't supposed to have 2 kinds of vegetables in the same meal. Do we know why?

The protocol states that you aren't supposed to have any medications while on the diet. Is that accurate? Cause ibuprofen is my savior and tums.

We don't know why having more than one vegetable in a meal is disallowed.

There are only guesses. Some think it is because it would be too easy to overdo calories, others think it was just easier for the clinic staff to prepare simpler meals. But no one really knows. The manuscript doesn't tell us.

Dr. Simeons had his patients stop all medications. But he saw them everyday when they came in for their injections, so they were closely monitored.

Its pretty much accepted that you can continue with whatever medications are helpful to you without interfering with the protocol. The exception would be hormone medications. Since this is a hormone regulating protocol, adding hormones to it might cause slower losses. But if you are on on something that your quality of life depends on, its fine to make the decision to continue with it.

You may find that with the elimination aspect of the low calorie diet that you don't need the tums. The reason is the plain foods and lack of processing chemicals can give your digestion a better chance to regulate itself. Its worth a test to see.

I do recall reading in pounds and inches that antibiotics are ok during a round. It was under the section regarding dental work.

I take daily Meloxicam, for bone on bone arthritis in knee. It doesn't seem to have affected my losses so far. And if it did, like Leez said, if your quality of liefe depends upon it, you may have to make decision to continue.
Post not clear if you have started or not, but if you have, good luck. The protocol does work, but you need to be committed.
