Is there such a thing as too much too quick?

I started Phase 2 March 2nd and as of today i had lost 20lbs, an average of 2.85 lbs a day. I am not complaining just wondering if that is a correct number to be losing, as many people I've spoken to said that the normal weight loss is 1-1.5 lbs a day. Maybe because i'm so heavy to start with? My first weigh in was 438 and today was 418. Any feedback is appreciated.

Yes, the dramatic losses are related to your starting weight.

Also, some people start out with massive inflammation from food sensitivities, excess sugar consumption or health conditions. A big part of early losses are water, so inflammed individuals will lose more at first as the elmination aspect of the diet kicks in and inflammation is dramatically and quickly reduced.

I'm sure it is gratifying to see such a big change on the scale in such a short time. It is not out of the ordinary considering your situation.

Enjoy the quick losses. There is no reason for concern at this point.
