It's possible that you are fine on the dose you are taking. Some are able to tolerate that high dose. But since you have been battling extreme cravings, it is worth checking.

If you average out your losses and are losing somewhere around .5 pound loss per day, then your losses are good. The off-protocol days do mess that up a bit, so take that in to account.

Thank you Leez!! I didn't get hungry at all today until 7:30pm, an hour after dinner. I skipped my injection this morning since I haven't skipped a dose at all until after my 19th injection, which was yesterday morning. So since I wasn't hungry today until 7:30pm, do you think I should inject 125 in the morning or 150? For reference, I have been taking 220 every day.

So it sounds like your hunger/cravings were diminished from normal patterns this evening?

If so, then you should lower your dose tomorrow. I would lower to 175iu. You may not need to go lower than that. It will take 3 days at that dose to know if it is the right adjustment. So let us know how it goes.

I'm so frustrated. My hunger and cravings were diminished all day until 7:30-8pm tonight, at which point I became extremely hungry. I should have stuck it out, but I ended up eating almost an entire 11oz bag of pretzels. I should have instead eaten a container of a lean roast that I had portioned out. Now I'll be waiting another couple days to lose again. I don't understand how these hunger and cravings come so unexpectedly. Yesterday was perfectly fine with no cravings or hunger (ate perfectly, 600 calories). I ate the same exact way today, same calories, same meal times, same everything, no additional stress, but I didn't take a dose this morning and ended up super hungry at 7:30-8pm. I will try 175 in the morning.

Is it normal to get really hungry at the end of the day that you skip your injection? (I take dose every morning.)

If your dose is right on, you might get just a little hungry in the evening, but extreme hunger that gets worse as the evening goes on indicates a need to go up in dose.

I'm sorry for the confusion, it sounded from your report like you were having less hunger/craving problems than you were having previously. Less problems would mean the drop in the HCG level at the end of the day signals a need to drop the dose going forward.

A couple things could be happening here. You could just tolerate the higher doses well and indeed need a increase. Or, your HCG may be weakening, therefore causing you to need more. We generally say 30 days after mixing is about as long as it is good, but it can start degrading at some point after the 2-3 week mark.

Considering the above, it doesn't sound like dropping your dose will be helpful. In fact, having a perfect day yesterday seems to suggest that you should stay where you are or go a bit higher.

Newbie here. Came across this post and I'm sort of panicking. I just started the injections on Monday 2/4 and today's my first VCLD. My doc started me off at 200 ICU and I have pre-filled syringes. I knew that the original protocol was for 125 but I didn't question it at the time. Wondering whether I should take less? Not sure why he'd start me this higher level...

200iu is too high for most people, but some do ok on it. You can wait and see if you are one of them, or you can just drop your dose tomorrow to 100iu, then proceed at 125iu or 150iu going forward.

Doses too high cause extreme hunger and poor losses. So its better to adjust up if you need to rather than start high and have to drop down.

Thanks, I was a little hungry today (not too bad). I will try that and see how it goes.

    Too high dose?

Hi, I've been doing the HCG shots for 9 days. I have only lost 3 lbs. I did an apple day yesterday and gained 2lbs. I'm so upset. I did HCG about 2years ago and lost 10 lbs in 10 days. The dose is 250. Do you think this is too high. Should I go to the clinic and get a lower dose or just only give myself half the injection .

That is WAY too high. You should skip the next 2 days and lower to 150 iu.

I've been tweaking my HCG dose (injections, Diet Doc) for past week (today is VLCD8). Started @ 150 IU for 4 days (immediately hungry when I started P2*), then dropped to 100 IU for 1 day (maybe the worst day), then up to 125 IU for 2 days (hunger better, but not gone. That is, I woke up hungry, was hungry after eating lunch, but by 8 pm was feeling okay). Then I skipped 2 days (one was intentional, one was not--long story) but stayed OP. Those 2 days were best yet, in terms of not being bothered by hunger. Which made me wonder if it's the hCG or the mild ketosis that's responsible.

Anyway, today had another injection @ 110 IU. (Unfortunately I followed Diet Doc's mixing instructions rather than yours so it strains my eyes a bit to find this on the 1/2 cc syringe.) Today was fine; maybe not quite as good as yesterday with no dose, but I was/am mostly comfortable.

My VLCD2 saw biggest drop in weight (-2.2 lbs); otherwise I've been losing between .2 and 1 pound/day. (As of today = -6.6 lbs from load wt.) Not stellar for week 1, but at least I'm losing. I am concerned though about dosage. I'd like to lose about 60-65 lbs and anticipate 3-4 rounds. With such a low dose to start, I'm worried that I won't have much wiggle room if I need to adjust.

Thoughts? Does this sound like I'm on track and do you think low dose will be a problem going forward?

*BTW, I think I did a good load. Ate clean but rich (frittatas with eggs, cream and cheese; pate w/ crackers, full fat yogurt, etc.). I was surprised to be so hungry on VLC, but chalk it up to the high starting dose.
