    Thought for the day....

Some people say "If you can't beat them, join them". I say "If you can't beat them, beat them", because they will be expecting you to join them, so you will have the element of surprise.

Well, -2.8 pounds on Day 1, 17 and now 21.

What's interesting is that puts me smack dab right in the middle of my LIW and my last date weighed.

Sometimes I wonder if it might be better to do a 3-day moving average for weight gain/loss in P3.
Then I remember I got a C in high school math and go get another cup of coffee....

    LOL.

I see your point definitely, and while I am still taking a reading each morning, I am not fretting the weight changes overly until I see a trend. My plan is not popular on these boards, but I am a bigger fan of making relatively subtle changes to my diet/activity/water consumption than doing an egg or steak day. I feel that the steak day is an incredibly artificial way of forcing your body into doing something that we want to body to do itself through natural processes.

This might be crazy, I'm not sure.

I'm doing Byron's LR indeed, but am doing it as a non-vegetarian sadly. I'm choking down animal flesh for each P2 and P3, but as soon as I get out (tomorrow), I'm getting back to my regular non-meat consuming diet as quickly as my body lets me (read: unless there's profound changes, I'll be off meat by the end of week 1 of P4.

Have you tried eziekle bread? It's is the best! Even though it has wheat I never gain or have reactions from it. It is sprouted so I think it's magic!

Nope I never had and I might delve into it if I start bread again, but it's my addication (some crave chocolate, I crave fresh baked bread with fresh butte....drool), so I avoid it.

    Good advice though, thanks!

shhh...hide this under your hat....I'll give a quick update...

    My P4 Journey thus far...

    Day 1: 267.6 lbs.
    - Ate crappier food (3 Booster Juices, ate 2x breadless Tim Hortons BELTS, an Olive Garden Tour of Italy and 2x Hamburgers from Harveys with the bottom of the bun on each) like a moron with some self control. Part of this was just the fun of letting my hair down, but the other part was really wanting to see how much I would gain (a worry I had from the start of this diet) and how fast my body would bounce back.
    - New scale purchased. It works, it really works, like it doesn't just flip a coin and guess my weight.

    Day 2: 269.4 lbs.
    - A 1.8 pound gain after that much food? Okay, I can handle that.
    - Dropped the Byron Richard's Leptin Reset after doing it for all of P3. I saw no benefit to that point, which is not really a huge surprise since its results are healthsome, rather than being overt, but that's sort of the problem as well since you have to operate on faith that it does something. It's annoying to micromanage your food timings, and I felt I just did not need one more thing to track. Also, if I'm hungry and something is telling me I'm not allowed to eat, that rarely works out well for my ODD part of my soul.

    Day 3: 269.8 lbs.
    - Amped up workout just a smidge.
    - Went back to eating a full vegetarian diet.
    - Meeting with my homeopath regarding procuring hCG for my next round.

    Day 4: 269.4 lbs.
    - Meeting with my doctor regarding procuring hCG for my next round.
    - Got lab results and my cholesterol, thyroid and liver are wonderful.

    Day 5: 268.0 lbs.

    Day 6: 268.6 lbs.
    - Nachos and pizza at Boston Pizza with the estrogen unit.
    - Still thinking I broke my toe at this point, and deciding that the best way to deal with that is to walk on it and pretend it never happened and didn't exist (I must have ostrich DNA).

    Day 7: 267.8 lbs.
    - Decided that if I cannot get the hCG through my doctor that I will wait until my homeopath gets back in the new year (read: late start for my round) to avoid issues with the hCG losing its potency.

    Day 8: 268.2 lbs.
    - Sought out Edmonton chiropractors that would consider writing a script for Rx hCG, but the 11 I talked to all laughed at me.
    - Ate crappy food like a moron with purposefully and absolutely no self control. The 6.0 pound gain was a shock to the system and a wake-up call. Okay I'm done playing with the diet to see what happens when I'm naughty now.
    - Medications for gout filled after spending hours in the ER and the nurse telling me that I couldn't have gout, since if I did I would be screaming in pain. It looks like I had been walking/jogging/playing on it for the better part of two weeks. Hopefully I didn't do too much soft tissue damage. The drugs are amazing and work incredibly fast.

    Day 9: 274.2 lbs.

    Day 10: 271.2 lbs.
    - Controlled weight gain by eliminate or limiting some of the fattier parts of my diet (coconut milk, yogurt) and just eating a bit less.

    Day 11: 269.6 lbs.
    - Down 1.0 pound below my LIW. I love that this happened just through portion control and dropping some items, but not resorting to anything like a steak/egg/apple day.

As an aside, I'm allergic to correction days, unless I'm forced into them. I would much rather see my body step up to the plate, after I make minor adjustments in my eating/exercising, to deal with a weight gain, rather than artificially fixing it. This is not to say that I would not resort to one if need be, I certainly would, but I would hope to be able to fix it in another way first.

    Day 12: 271.0 lbs.
A bit down in the dumps over the gout thing. So last night I said f**k it, I'll get a pizza. I'm up 0.4 pounds this morning, but that might just be from my complete lack of physical activity. I learned that T-Rexes suffered from gout. This makes me feel very powerful!

My scale, which I have nicknamed Todd as an homage to George Carlin, is wonderful.

They put me on Indomethacin 50mg, which is an NSAID, for my gout. I added cherries to my diet today, since I've seen a lot of compelling evidence (thank you New Years Loading Group) that suggests that they help when you have gout.

Took the day off to rest my foot.

    Day 13: 273.4 lbs.
Took the day off to rest my foot.

Big time weight gain after my Boston Pizza, sausage and cheese pity party mourning my toe. Retrieved my pouting bottom lip from the ground and refocused on getting back to work on my health.

Plan in place to go to Europe in the summer of 2013 if my estrogen unit and I can get back to eating clean until then.

    Day 14: 270.0 lbs.
Back at work on "light" duties. I use quotes because they have the intention of it being light, but it didn't take very long before they had me running around all over the place on my screwed up foot. Perhaps if they felt the sting of a red hot poker jabbing them in the toe joint, they would change their minds.

Figured that I was freaking people out with my huge gains on my cheat days, so I figured I'd post how fast I was shedding pounds afterward...

    Day 8: 268.2 lbs.
    Day 9: 274.2 lbs. (+6.0 pounds)
    Day 10: 271.2 lbs. (-3.0 pounds)
    Day 11: 269.6 lbs. (-1.6 pounds)
    Day 12: 271.0 lbs. (+0.4 pounds)
    Day 13: 273.4 lbs. (+2.4 pounds)
    Day 14: 270.0 lbs. (-3.4 pounds)

Ordered HhCG from hCG Diet Canada at (343)883-1424 via phone order with a friendly lady named Christina (thanks Freedom for sending me their way).

They charge $287.00 for a 60 day batch of HhCG drops that includes taxes, shipping and other goodies (fridge magnet, diet sheet, et cetera). It's a company out of Ontario, so shipping from them is 2-7 days. Health Canada has shut them down since their HhCG drops have too much hCG in them to be happy, so they have been bought out by an American company, and I'm taking advantage of their supplies still being in Canada, so I don't have to deal with border crossings.

My plan is to keep the HhCG for January 1 as a backup to my doctor. If he caves I'll get him to do blood tests in late December and then go ahead with the HhCG drops. If that fails to take off, then I'll go back to Rx through my homeopath.

    Day 15: 268.2 lbs.
Woken up by the pain after pushing it this morning and took myself to the hospital at 3:33am to get a second opinion. X-ray, bloodwork, Toradol injection in my tushy, Tramadol pills for the pain and a new NSAID (Sdz-Diclofenac) are on board.

Breaking this down so it's easy to see my P4 losses/gains by day...

    Day 1: 267.6 lbs.
    Day 2: 269.4 lbs.
    Day 3: 269.8 lbs.
    Day 4: 269.4 lbs.
    Day 5: 268.0 lbs.
    Day 6: 268.6 lbs.
    Day 7: 267.8 lbs.
    Day 8: 268.2 lbs.
    Day 9: 274.2 lbs.
    Day 10: 271.2 lbs.
    Day 11: 269.6 lbs.
    Day 12: 271.0 lbs.
    Day 13: 273.4 lbs.
    Day 14: 270.0 lbs.
    Day 15: 268.2 lbs.

My goal is to get back to 267.6 pounds (the weight I was at the start of P4) first, and then get down to 263.0 pounds before New Years.

Swab, so sorry about the pain you are experiencing, I found something you may find helpful:

Jason from Durham, Nc replies: "I had what I now consider to be a gout flareup. I had had a few episodes over the last few years - I'm 40 and work out alot, ski etc and I'm always on the go and I'm 6'1 225. I never made the connection that it was gout - but now I know. Recently I had a flareup that was some of the worst pain I've ever endured. Brutal - as many of you know. So - I was reading these comments in the morning of the 2nd day with my foot just throbbing. I had to run around my office all day and was just miserable. I was so desperate for a cure, and upset that I had to go through this again I was beside myself. Thank you all here so much for sharing your experiences.

So I decided to do all the remedies at once and sent my staff member to the store to buy all of it - the ACV mother, alfalfa pills, dried cherries, tart cherry capsules and baking soda.

I mixed 10 oz water, 3 TBS ACV (Braggs), and 1tsp baking soda and swallowed the alfalfa pill and the cherry pill at about 11am. I was walking up and down the halls of my office the rest of the day. At 2pm, I took another dose like above and by about 3pm, I knew something was up. I sensed the pain in my toe was not getting worse even though I'd been on it all day, and it even seemed to feel better than when I woke up and got out of bed that morning. I had read so many testimonials that I figured it would work but I still wasen't even sure I had gout. That evening I had another mixture before bed and laid around with my foot raised up - no ICE though. By morning I knew I was going to be better. By the evening of the next day, just about all the pain was gone. Thanks again!!

What I noticed in the two months or so since is an improvement over my entire body. I have been doing 1 maintenance dose exactly as above every other morning or so and have never felt better. My joints are loose - everything was popping for the first few weeks which felt great. I must have so much buildup that accumulated over the years that it took 4-6 weeks to flush out. My girlfriend started taking it with me to be supportive, and it did wonders for her stomach problems as well. We both feel like we urinate more regularly and generally better.

    Here's another testimony:

Robert from Weymouth, Ma writes: "I thought I had fractured my big toe on my right foot. It got worse as I continued walking on it. Swelling up and getting red. So I went to the emergency room and they asked me a few questions and they decided to take a few blood tests. What they found was my uric acid was very high. I had Gout! I'm 43. First time I ever had it. Never thought I would. They prescribed medicine. I thought, nuh-uh.

Came to earthclinic. I found the apple cider vinegar "from Braggs" and "with the Mother ", baking soda, honey, dried cherry capsules, alfalfa capsules. I placed 3 tspns of vinegar into 8oz glass of water with about a teaspoon of baking soda (Hammer). Put honey in my mouth which made it easier to drink the concoction along with 3 capsules of both the dried cherries and alfalfa. Within the hour I felt the pain dissipate. Later that night I took same before I went to bed, and next morning the gout was substantially diminshed in pain by 50%. That morning I drank another serving, and during the day it got better and better. Basically over a period of two days the gout was completely gone. I am goin to continue taking this everyday just to keep my pH alkaline."
