    Weight gain

What are some typical reasons a person may GAIN .5 overnight? I understand how Weight can stall but this was discouraging. Is it normal?

I am assuming from your post that you are in the weight loss phase (P2) of the HCG diet, so this addresses the question accordingly.

It is not unusual to gain a little during the weight loss phase. It happens because your water stores are shifting. It is not fat gain. When your body is ready to release the water, the scale will go down again.

Yes I am in P2, officially 5 days now. Thank you, this makes a lot of sense.

molly, please don't stress over this slight upticks, like Leez says, water fluctuations. When you think about, seems more strange that anyone would weigh the exact same every single day. Salt/water retention. It all evens out.
