I've tried all kinds of meds to help the PCOS and had no luck with any of them. They all upset my stomach horribly and I just can't tolerate it. I'm really hoping if I can get this weight off and keep my sugar low to none I will get rid of some of the symptoms.

I also started getting laser hair removal last month...the facial hair is by far my least favorite symptom of PCOS!! Any of you ladies had laser treatments? Just wondering if it will be successful or how everyone elses experiences with it have been. Thank you in advance!
Hi Jenejenn. No I don't get hair on my face. My biggest pcos symtom is gain in tummy, infertility, and almost no breast milk. Sorry about your troubles! I hear laser treatments work well but cause some redness. Let us know if you get them.

I'm pretty blessed and was able to have children..guess I'll take the face hair over the fertility issues. I've got 3 beautiful children.

I am currently getting the laser treatments. I go in next week for my second treatment. Hoping to see some results!!

    Newbie... PCOS Victim

Hi, I am not currently on HCG yet, but I am definitely considering it since reading this thread. I was formally diagnosed with PCOS back in 2009. When I say formally, after getting off of Depo after having my first son in 2006, I was getting irregular periods which is normal when getting off Depo. Then all of a sudden I got not periods at all, so I would get nervous thinking I was pregnant again. Everytime I took pregnancy test it was negative. Then I started noticing increasing weight gain, thinning hair and the facial hair, so I went online and that's when I discovered PCOS. Overtime, I noticed around the time that I would usually have my period, I would cramp like crazy but nothing would come down. This went on for years until finally my fiance told me to get checked, sure enough I was right. They put me on metaformin, and literally a month later I concieved my second son.
Once my second son was born, I was on birth control, and so I was getting regular periods and my baby weight was coming off slowly, but coming off nonetheless. When my medicaid ran out, I couldn't get anymore birth control and after about 3-4 months my period disaapeared and the weight packed on with avengance. Now I want to do the hcg more than ever since I hear it kick starts your reproductive system.

Can you give me advice as to where to get hcg?
    Any do's or don'ts?
    Any side affects?

Please help, I'm desperate, but before I go all in, I want to have as much information so I know I'm making a good decision. Thanks for the help.

I get mine at alldatchemist.com but I hear they no longer sell it. I am worried i will not find it again. You might have to do homeopath but I hear they have stopped that as well. Do google searches for it.

    Pcos, hcg and me

I'm 34, have PCOS, Hypothyroidism and severe arthritis. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 6 years ago. I remarried and we each had a child but wanted more. No dice. I get my period and have even conceived but it never lasts longer than a month. Its been heartbreaking. I've gained about 90 lbs in 8 years. I've tried Atkins, no gluten, Phentermine, shakes. The best luck I've had was with counting calories, carbs and fats on my phone app. I also made a lifestyle change from a desk job to a retail job so I'm forced to be more active. I've lost 30 lbs that way and then stalled. . . For 18 months!

I started the hcg drops 6 days ago. I lost 7 lbs loading!?! and 5 additional lbs this week. My boobs are sore so I know its the real deal. Lol. I know so many people who got pregnant on this diet that I told my husband we have to be careful for the first time ever! I want to lose the weight before getting preggo.. if I do manage to.

I've already noticed some reduction in irregular hair growth!!

I put a shoebox marked "hcg" in the fridge and every night I put the food for the next day in it. That way I know if it's not in the box.. I can't eat it. I cannot cheat! I am bound and determined and tired of being fat and infertile.

Good luck to all my PCOS sisters! The app I use is MyFitnessPal app on Android market. Its amazing.

That sounds like me! Metformin was the only reason I was able to have my daughter. We tried for almost 2 years with no luck. I tracked my cycles for a year and a half, that is when I realised that I was getting mine every 16 days and that they lasted between 8 to 12 days, do the math on that! HORRIBLE way to spend your life! When my Dr. prescribed me the metformin I was pregnant within 3 months. he kept me on it until my daughter was born, I went down 2 pants sizes in my 3rd trimester, may daughter was healthy although not the 13 pounds they had estimated. Were you on the depo vera or depo lupron? When I was 22 they put me on depo lupron, this is chemical menopause. I went from weighing about 140 to 235 in less than 8 months, I got severely depressed, was a major moodswing, and just all around un unhappy person. The next step for me on that route is a a hysterectomy which I am now old enough for. Unfortunately when I got my tubes tied I was only 26 so I wasn't old enough or they would have done it. Things I have noticed with me, first off, yes I have been happier since I have lost some of my weight! I have not lost the amount I would like to lose but I lost a lot my first round. I think this is due to me being more motivated to reach my goal the first time. This time I have had a lot of issues not from the HCG but from girlie issues. I haven't stayed true to the diet, this is MY fault, wow, that sucks!
Advice would be to monitor your cycles. I had mine 2 times last month. This is not abnormal for me though, just irritating! when you have cycles that are usually heavy you will find that while on this diet, your iron will drop, that was what we have come to the conclusion on for me. My iron dropped, I turned a weird grayish color, I had been forgetting my vitamins. I wasn't eating iron rich foods though. Chicken and lettuce were not helping me. I started eating my spinach and broccoli ( don't really think this is protocol) but it was either that or get sick. The other thing is to call your OB and just check with them. I have had the same Doc for the past 15 years so all I have to do is call him if I am having any issues. Mine told me yesterday to stop the diet until my body is over all the crap I have going on. I believe that the cyst that I have had since June has a major role in my all around health. My body seems to be a lot more susceptible to illness since it is trying to fight the weird nonsense that cannot decided upon growing or rupturing. As of Sept, it was at 9 CM but it is more like a group if grapes than a sac. the rupturing is super painful and anytime it does this I get sick because of the toxins that are running through me.

Checking in I actually came down with the flu right after I started this round and it lasted forever! I am feeling better and have been on the diet for 8 days and lost 14 lbs. I am doing a 40 day round so I have a ways to go! For those doing the laser hair removal, please let me know how that goes. Glad to have women to discuss this with!

So happy for you! Yes I too have pcos and this is the best diet for me as well. Just finished my 2nd round. I am now in P3. I ovulated and got pregnant my first round. My second round I was hoping that would happen but it didn't. If you want a baby I suggest you do not be careful and if one comes then be happy and lose the rest after the baby. I say this because what if hcg is the ONLY thing that will help you conceive? You do not want to miss that oppurtunity just to lose more weight first. You now know about hcg and you know it will be there when you need it.

@chaosink, I also use myfitnesspal.com on my phone it is awesome, but as already know, counting my calories right is just not enough. Where did you get your hcg from? Everyone keeps telling me to go to alldaychemist.com but I don't see it for sale. All my pcos sisters, please give me avenues as to where I can purchase the hcg, so I can start soon! I have a high school reunion coming up in July, and I'm trying to look fabulous! Thanx

BTW - I too have PCOS and HCG is the only way I was able to lose 37 lbs. I have been off of it for a year and gained 15 lbs back - but I ate whatever I wanted to for A YEAR to gain that back. I am returning to HCG to get back into my summer clothes again - and intend to follow protocol this time as I have since learned more about PCOS and insulin resistance. Live and learn :-/
