Thread: PCOS- and getting pregnant after HCG

  1. #13

    PCOS.....booo =(

    I have PCOS...I gained about 90# after high school not know what was going on, went in had my hormones checked and sure enough my ratio was like 1:4. My hubby and I struggled to get prego and me being the selfish impatient person that I am went on 5 rounds of Clomid and was successful on 100mg cd 5-9. I had a healthy baby boy 7lbs 8oz. Sept. 2 2010 but I would recommend losing weight 1st you'll have a more enjoyable pregnancy! That's why I am here now I only gained 23 lbs from pregnancy but added to the 90 its out of control. I am waiting for my Hcg to get here to start round 1! I'm 265 lbs wow! 1st time I said that out loud is 145 a realistic goal for me on hcg I'm 5'7'' and can I lose 30lbs in the 1st round? Thanks for the help!

    Misterrollie, how come you had to come off of Metformin? I am on Metformin now, is there a problem doing both?

    My doctor believed that it could make me have a severe drop in my blood sugar due to the amount and type of food I would be consuming it P2.

    Yes, I purchased extra test strips when I started all this so I could monitor it closely. My sugar went into the normal readings and I felt great. I tried one day to just take D3 but it kinda sprang up again so I started to re take it. I just dialed it way back, I think it is 500 or 750 mg now along with a glipizide 2.5. Are your readings around 100 without it?

    My reading have been between mid 80's and 110 depending on what phase I am in at the time.

    Hi Everyone! I am so excited for you that you got pregnant. I have PCOS, Endometriosis, Autoimmune Thyroid Disease and Celiac. Basically, a few years ago I got REALLy sick and am currently in the process of healing. I am hoping that after HCG I will be able to be healthy enough to get pregnant. Good luck to all of you! It is really great to know that you have been successful!

    This is an old post, but I wanted to share this to encourage you! I got pregnant while on hhcg during a round of P2. I had lost nearly 100 lbs over several rounds by the time I realized I was pregnant. I believe it was the weight loss *as well as the foods* that did it. All my other children were conceived after weight loss while on low carb-the key being that all my children were conceived while eating whole foods, no gluten or junk food either and after getting a lot of weight off OR right after having had a baby and before the cysts could cover my ovaries again. (Also while eating lower carb & healthy.) Clomid and met never were enough for me without diet and weight loss, and all of my surviving babies were conceived without them.
