Hi Shay, depends on whether you are a diabetic or not. Diabetics need to watch their glucose closely since this is a pretty low carb regiment. It's not no carb, so it's definitely ok to do. Most keep a fruit handy to eat in between the meals. ... Not eating the fruit with a meal. That way you eat every 3 hours or so.

Hi ILuvKats ;-) I am on VLCD8 and am down 12 pounds..woohooo!! I am on RX injections and took a pregnancy test on VLCD4, which came out positive, but very very light. I had a spot of blood today (sorry TMI) when I wiped, which is something I only get when pregnant. So I took another test this evening and the test turned positive right away. I have never gotten a line this dark on past rounds, even after being on injections for 14+ days. I will probably go have a blood draw tomorrow to check my levels, but thought I would ask your opinion while I go completely crazy lol! I also posted this on Grammy's page, but thought it might be better to ask here :-)

is this protocol safe with adrenal fatigue?

I had adrenal fatigue and am doing much better now. I don't think it's completely gone but I have much better days most of the time now. Is this diet safe for someone who has adrenal fatigue?

Hi I am currently on Phase 2 day 4 of the hcg drops. I never knew that you are supposed to start the drops after your period and I actually started my drops the day I was supposed to get my period and still haven't gotten it yet...should I stop?

    Thanks!

I am currently on Phase 2 Day 15 and I have lost about 15lbs (started at 230lb and now at 215lb). I was diagnosed with PCOS about 8 years ago but I do not have a current MD to advise me on issues and by the time I can get into a new office I'll be long off the diet so I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issues as myself. I have a fairly severe case of PCOS and I rarely ever have a menstrual cycle. I have gone years in between cycles in the past but usually when I do have them they are very heavy. I started my cycle on day 0 immediately after loading. The first several days it was only spotting and has continued to get heavier since then. I am bleeding regularly and am noticing a lot of clots passing now but not as heavy as some of my periods in the past have been. I have found very little information about this online although one blog mentioned the possibility of the weight loss causing extra hormones stored in the fat cells to flood the system which could cause cycle issues. However I have read several alarming stories about Ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome with use of hcg to help with fertility but the symptoms don't match mine. I'm incredibly happy with the weight loss I've seen so far and I don't really want to stop the diet but I am concerned that in my situation I might be hurting more than helping. Any advise or opinions?

We take a TINY amount of hcg compared to fertility use where you take the entire 5000 iu (or 10,000 iu) in one shot. We have tons of people with PCOS who have done hcg without a problem. That's not to say you can never get any ovarian stimulation but it's incredibly rare. I know of only one person who has that issue in the 100,000 who have passed through this forum in the past 7 years. I don't think you need to worry. However, with weight loss as fast as yours (with any kind of diet) the fat cells do release some estrogen which might be the reason for your period. Some women seem to have their period the entire time they are on hcg (still very rare though) and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Hcg can cause fibroids to worsen so if you have that condition, the hcg could be aggravating it and causing the bleeding. If you're concerned, you should see your doctor though. Good luck!
