Hi, I would love some help deciphering my labs! I went in to get some drawn last month and they said they had some on file from 3 years ago and that it was unnecessary to get them done again, as they probably didn't change much (I saw a "certified mid wife" because the doctor had a long waiting list)! Anyway, I am going to make an appt. with an endocrinologist in a couple months. I asked her to look at my labs from 3 years ago though, and she said everything was normal, but a possible borderline PCOS. I asked if they tested free t3 and free t4. She said yes, but I don't see it labeled like that? Here is what I have:
Glucose, fasting 68
Prolactin 6.28
LH (Luteinizing hormone) 2.5
FSH 5.64
Estradiol 35
TSH .85
Insulin 5.24
Testosterone, Total .33
DHEA unconjugated 336
Testosterone, Free (Direct) Serum .6
Does everything look within range? Thanks in advance!!!
I also just picked up the labs I had taken 8 months prior to this. My sex hormone bind glob was out of range. It was a 15 in the range of 30-135. Do you know what this means? My physician never mentioned it to me!
Hi! Can I ask your age and what point of your cycle these labs were drawn? I can't believe any health care practitioner would say 3 year old lab values were ok......

Yeah, I thought that was a little off as well! I was 25 at the time. I have no idea where I was in my cycle!
Not sure why bio id doc(seeing him to morrow for diagnosis?) wont let me have spit test results PRIOR to consult, asked a million times. I paid 400.00 for it. aggrivating!
Suppose he'll give a hard copy to us tomorrow, or I'll go thru the roof, and scan and post here. Sorry, trust Kats and Grams more, and why shouldnt I, I don't know him?
Until tomorrow, Happy Balancing!!
Doing the best that I can , from where I am. All is well
That is SUPER aggravating!!

Ktanns, the sex hormones are almost impossible to analyze correctly unless you know what phase of your cycle you are on. The insulin is a bit high, especially for someone in their 20s...could be bordering on insulin resistance. You want to keep an eye on that one. TSH (for what it's worth) is great, and so is fasting glucose. I apologize for not getting this answer up sooner, I tried the other morning and the forum server was acting up again, and then I forgot to go back to it.

This is a protein that influences the amount of free sex hormones circulating in your body. I had to look it up to be sure. Your high insulin level might be causing it to be low. Also hypothyroidism can make it low. Your TSH is normal, but you didn't have a free t3 or t4 test done.

Thank you so much! I'll be sure to ask for free t3 and free t4 for my next one! Also, I am just now on day 2 of p3. How long do you recommend I wait before getting labs done? Thanks!!!
