So I went in to see the dr today,,different one since mine wasnt in, and she ordered bloodwork, another ultrasound as well as referring me to an endocrynologist. She was suprised that there really was no follow up after the last time, so hopefully we'll get some answers now

Doesn't look cancerous? Huh? That is scary. A well functioning thyroid does not have lumps and bumps in it. I'm glad you are getting another opinion.

And Brin, your docs comments about hcg reflect their mainstream opinion of the diet, not that it would interfere with your meds. I'm sorry they treated you that way. It was very non theraputic on their part. He can't fire you as a patient, because he can't prove that you are doing the protocol. (Hugs). I'm concerned most about how this will affect your whole relationship with him though.

It has put a strain on the dr/pt relationship to say the least. In the past, I have always been very candid with him, but now Ill just be going and getting refill scripts and saying as little as possible Had I known he was sooooo uneducated abt this protocol, I would have printed out all of the good things it says as far as helping w/bipolar symptoms..between his ignorance and my other dr not following up on the thyroid issue, *sigh* it has become apparent that I need to take the reigns of looking out for my own good health and stop trusting people just because they have a title..BTW,,since starting this round, once again, as before, I am in a fantastic mood!
As far as the thyroid issue, hubby is raging and talking abt lawsuits/etc..I told him to slow his roll until we have all the info, but can relate since hes the one that puts up with me!LOL

Brin, you are very educated about your body and your medical issues. (Big pat on the back). I think it's ok to be candid with your psyche dr about the issues that he is treating you for, but maybe be more reticent about issues that don't relate to his specialty, such as diet and hcg diet in particular. People can't be expected to be experts in everything. Just because he is ignorant about hcg doesn't mean he is a bad psych dr or that you should quit confiding in him about the issues that he is successfully treating you for. I'm glad the hcg helps your mood. There is scientific evidence about why that is so. Hang in there.....
