    Exogenous Ketones

Does anyone know anything about using Exogenous ketones with the HCG diet? I have recently been reading a lot about the use of Exogenous Ketones and have been hearing about people using them while doing HCG Phase 2. This lady was saying that ever since using the ketones she has consistently on a daily basis has had losses and does not have anymore stalls since starting Ketones on P2. Anyone have any experience with them? Anyone used ketone while on P2? What kind of ketones do you buy?

I have tried them and they seem to assist with speeding up the adaptation to low carb eating.

I have tried 3 brands: Pruvit O/S Max (best tasting), Ketond (lowest price) and Keto Burst.

The Pruvit Max comes in packets, I used 1/2 per day. The Max version includes MCT oil. It's available on Amazon and eBay in smaller quantities like 3 or 7 packets, so you can try it for lower investment.

The non-Max Pruvit, Ketond and Keto Burst are not mixed with MCT oil. Some are available with caffeine or without.

I found it to have the biggest effect after a meal that included carbs. I am T2D so I stall if my carbs are too high. I believe the exogenous ketones helped me avoid or shorten stalls.

Thanks so much for your response and advice on this. Do you think taking MCT oil along with ketones or buying the Pruvit Max version will be better during Phase 2? Pruvit is so expensive and I dont like having to sign up for their subscription. I wanted to buy off Amazon and even through Amazon it asked me to signup for a subscription. So I have been looking at Perfect Ketones (They dont have MCT or coffee in them) but they are much cheaper and no subscription or multi marketing.

    Hi Ready,

Make sure you know how much BHB is in the one you buy. Ketond and Pruvit have the same amount; I don't remember how much. Others may have lower amounts.

I bought Pruvit Keto O/S Max "Swiss Cacao" packets without caffeine on Amazon and eBay, something like 7 packets per order. It was more expensive by the packet, but smaller overall price than buying from Pruvit. I did look at the Pruvit site, but I don't remember a subscription requirement? I thought it was too expensive to use long-term, so I just bought enough to last me through P2. I ended up buying more and using it during my 2nd round. Again, I used 1/2 packet per day - otherwise I got too much MCT and it gave me stomach troubles. MCT oil in 1/2 dose does give me one big benefit - regular BM - which I didn't have in P2 before I started using it.

I switched to HCG 2.0 mid-way through my 1st round. MCT oil isn't allowable in P2 on the Simeons protocol. MCT oil is recommended in P2 for HCG 2.0 but you do count the calories.

I bought Ketond through their Amazon site; they included MCT oil powder in a separate package but it had Garcinia Cambogia (appetite suppressant) so I didn't use it in P2. The Ketond Caramel Macchiato flavor tasted OK and did not have caffeine or MCT oil, but I generally added Torani sugar free flavoring or sugar free chocolate syrup to it. Keto supplements generally taste salty and are sweetened with Stevia. I don't care for them in hot drinks, I either use La Croix or tap water. Note - they dissolve better in hot tap water, after dissolving, I add crushed ice then the tap water or La Croix.

I don't think the MCT oil is necessary in P2, but it is recommended by the doctor who developed the HCG 2.0 protocol, dr zach laboube.
