WOW Robin! What a great loss!! I'm ok if cell food works as a mindset. That's how HCG and original protocol works for me. Sometimes in the evening it crosses my mind to eat just a little cheat but knowing it will cause a gain, keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Lynn, will EFT work on evening cravings? Gotta get a grip before it kicks me!!

    Round 2

Hi all! I did my first round last fall. I was doing okay, but then I'd get these horrible cravings and couldn't resist. I'd been a low carber for some time, but my mom came out for my birthday right before I started hCG and cake & ice cream are apparently lethal to me. I blew up 10 pounds in one night. Anyway, so a week later I started protocol and I just craved and craved and craved. The only time I stablized and then lost real weight was when I went back to Ketogenic/Paleo eating. I was dropping and had an entirely unrelated medical problem so I had to stop.

So I've done poorly since, nasty little carbs. But I'm ready to go this time, and this time I'm starting over right away on a paleo/ketogenic WOE. Not torturing myself.

As it seems as though in P3 I'm back to doing the leptin reset, I eat a fatty high protein breakfast around 6 or 7 and then dinner again around 3 or 4. Somewhere in between I usually take either supplements or DE which I find fills me up if necessary. And I also go to bed around 9.

Lynn - no kidding about cholesterol...it's one of those things that got a bad rap and is actually so important for good health. I think low fat is much more dangerous.

Mo - You might want to look into DE to help with candida and sugar cravings. So many people said it helped them with candida.

Jnu. That's really interesting about the fat cutting. So you're doing fasting cardio in the am? I'm curious , what kind of cardio? I hope you and your husband can work things out. Have either of you read Harville Hendricks "Getting the Love You Want"? It's really helpful to open up communication leaving all our habitual ways in he corner somewhere, basically no judgement and lots of compassion.

Here's a shocker - down 2.5 lbs this am. 932. 9 68 61. So that's the 1.5 I had gained plus another lb. guess i should eat that way every day. was hungry this morning so had 2 slices of nitrate free Black Forest bacon, omigod, haven't had bacon in 6 weeks or so and its so Incredible and 2 double yolk pastured eggs fried in bacon fat, coffee with pastured half and half. This is the feeling I remember...feeling not stuffed, but really satisfied and with a sense of wellbeing. I am becoming a smaller and smaller fan of cell food!

JJ- enjoy your vacation and don't stress, you've got this.
The fasted cardio can be anything as long as I keep my heart rate between 120-130 range. So running probably wouldn't be a good choice. I usually do the bike, treadmill or elliptical. Supposedly it burns more fat, that's the theory anyways.

I will check out that book HCG & Siesta Beach

Mo, yes, the yeast are feeding on sugar and carbs, so I bet they go away best on SB. And I agree that Chili Rellenos are a great idea! Especially a la carte, so you don't have to pay for rice and beans that ou don't eat! The Nystatin comes from a doctor, preferably a wellness pharmacy, and the activated charcoal capsules are from the health food store.

Jnu: I am so happy for you and your training, but all the best with resolving your relationship issues. I obviously do not know you enough to know if the changes you have made are HUGE for you, between the weight loss and body building, etc, but as an outsider I would wonder if DH just needs to come to terms with it. Have you tried EFT? If the problems have to do with taking things personally or emotions getting involved, let me offer it as a suggestion. I find it is amazing, and I used it when my daughter and I were having problems, where she was trying to grow up and establish her own identity...and I didn't like her choices. It was great for our relationship. I have also used it for bosses, my mother, nail biting, and other things as well.

AFM: I am slowly, slowly dropping, so I don't really think of it as dropping. The positive thing is I am eating on-the-fly, and making choices that I think are in the 1000 ball park. My cholesterol was elevated at my last test (303), but is normally lower than that. My doc had me read this book that explains cholesterol, and that sugar/carbs are the real culprits behind heart disease. He was talking about statins, but I don't think he really wants me to take them. He is a wellness doc with natural/alternative leanings, and I think he wanted to make sure I had the real information to motivate me to take better care of my heart. He also sent me to a cardiologist, but I don't think I am going to go to the follow-up visits. Anyway, for anyone interested, the author is Stephen SInatra, The Great CHolesterol Myth. Here is a link to some of his info, but I bought the mobile edition from Amazon for $10. The drawback is I cannot loan it out to my mother or friends.
I have not tried EFT or even heard of it. Something worth looking in to. This all started with my grandma's death. My husband is exactly correct when he says I've changed. I have isolated myself from everyone, I don't want to do anything, I sit in the house or go to the gym. Me working nights is an issue cause we never see each other. He started that new job about 6 months ago which has him working long hours every week. We only see each other maybe 4 days a week total. He told me he's lonely cause I'm never around and when I am, I don't want to do anything. I'm tired from working nights so that causes an issue. I do spend a lot of time at the gym but cut that back. He told me not to quit the competition cause I told him I would. I'm gonna keep up with it but of i notice any issues then I will pull out. I have no problem pulling out of it. I refuse to throw away almost 19 years without a fight. I love him and can't imagine life without him. I have been doing a lot of soul searching the past couple days and realized he has very valid points and I need to put us first for now on. No matter how tired I am and I have to get off of nights as soon as I can

NO cod liver oil. I take two kinds of fish oil though.

I think what it helped me with was getting carried away and over eating, but it could still help with what you need. I would give it a try.

I have gains like that from wheat. If I had pizza for dinner I could gain 5 lbs overnight. Welcome.

Sometimes when we avoid doing things we know we should do, the simple act of doing them (even if it is for a loved ones benefit), can get us back in the mode where we want to do it and it makes us happy. Just a thought. If I were doing EFT for this, I would say "Even though I am isolating myself from everyone, I deeply and completely accept myself", then I would do the tapping the way they describe, and as I tapped on each different point on the body, I would say it again. Do you think the sadness over your grandma's death has taken over your desire to do things with DH? I hope that if you make yourself get busy with him, it will help you turn it around. Good luck whatever you choose.

Thank you Lynne. I think so. My grandma left a void in my heart that I can't seem to fill. on June 14th will be 1 year since she passed away. She died the day after my husband's bday. I know I need to accept it and come to terms with it and I'm trying my hardest. Some days are better than others. I found this quote the other day and it's so true. It's time I stop pushing my loved ones away and start focusing on the people who love me

Jnu, you made me cry. That is so true. Is there any chance that a little counseling would help you past the grief? All the best.

    Hi everyone!

Made it home and had a wonderful time in KY! Still fighting a bad head cold and sore throat. That made it rough, but it was nice to go away for a few days. DH is a super guy to travel with. Very considerate and all around a lot of fun and great guy!

Sorry Last , you shouldn't have let him get away!

I'll catch up on posts tomorrow, pretty tired tonight. Hope you're all doing well and enjoying your weekend.

Jenn NU ~ thinking of you and I wish the best for you and DH. Work together, it will all be o.k. XOXOX

A little funny for you all:

^^ Don't even say the word. I'll have to buy dozens, pour them on the floor, and roll in them like a dog.

Started this round Saturday morning. Am not loading- it backfires on me (I attempted to go back to hCG once in between these two rounds and all my body wants is more carbs- mixed with fat). Lost one pound overnight. I need to change my ticker and stuff (like everyone cares lol, I just want to see it tracking down again). I'm hopeful because paleo worked for me, until I hit an unbreakable plateau, which hCG plus paleo did break, except I had a medical issue- not related- and had to stop.

Anyone else here in the horrible position of having a houseful of high carb eating and junk around at all times, because of other family members? I need support for that. My husband doesn't want me thinner or more attractive, and he also sabotages directly, but usually it's just boxes of Cadbury eggs that don't need to be sitting out on the countertop! He's morbidly obese and won't do anything about it. But it's so hard to eat a different way, even knowing how bad carbs make me feel, when it's just right there.

    'Night!

The Koala face made me LOL I know that feeling

My house is always full of high carb treats, you just have to tell yourself you can have them but you are choosing not to. As soon as I stopped telling myself I couldn't have something and put myself back in control of the decision it was easy passing them up. Haven't been tempted by them for years. That doesn't mean I don't eat them and enjoy them from time to time. But if I'm in diet mode I buy them, I serve them, heck I even bake and decorate them but I don't eat them because I know I can eat them later, right now I'm choosing not to. Just a mind trick that works for me. I correct others that pull out the oh yeah you can't have that because you are on a DIET card too. I say I'm a grown woman, I can eat whatever I want, I don't want them. Shuts them right up.

I hear ya on Dh too, it's hard but you can't change anyone except yourself so do what you gotta do and he can just adjust to it.

AFM I lost 3.2 or 3.4 this past week, already forgot but happy with that. I'm back on low cal now but will probably go onto low carb again on Wed. Short cycles seem to be working for me so I'll stick to what's working.

Hi everyone. Still fighting the fight on this ridiculous cold/sinus. Going to the dr if I don't kick it pretty soon.

haven't caught up yet, but you all know I'm here with you.

AFM: gained +2 on our trip. BUT on a positive, I've been popping cold pills and eating out since Friday. So I'm calling it a win. Any other trip I NEVER came home with less than 5 lbs. of extra weight. Even a camping weekend!

I watched my cal/carbs/fats/protein as best I could, but impossible when eating here there and everywhere. Also found a new love of "bacon jerky". Delicious but, ofcourse more sodium than I should have. But, it was fun to snack on that and not feel crumby like chips or some high carb snack.

I'll try to catch up this evening.

Hi Poo ~ did see you posted. Cycling is working fantastic for you! So glad you found the right formula for you!!

Sage ~ DH, I think those initials could stand for DISTRUCTIVE & HUMILIATING. That's horrible that he's sabotaging you . Yep, like Poo said, he needs to adjust. You need to take care of YOU.

We don't think we are supposed to load on SB, anyway, so I think it is good that you didn't. Hopefully we low-carbers can help you stay away from the carbs. Can you stay away from carbs for a week? Cadbury eggs are disgusting to me, so that would not be tempting...but I can see where someone morbidly obese could feed their sugar cravings with them. They are like little cups of pure sugar (or is it HFCS?). Back in the day, my thing was Reeses Peanut Butter eggs, in spite of the artificial flavor and TBHQ. I think I am over them now.

Maybe your DH doesn't want you more attractive, but how about happier? More confident? Higher self esteem? Maybe he would like to eat more fats and stay away from the sugar? At least that would help you, and maybe him too.

My kids eat carbs, but I do the shopping so I can keep it manageable. We have ezekiel bread, organic pretzels, and wheatabix cereal on hand, and occasional organic gummies/ice cream/cookies.

Good Job! It is probably just water anyway!

AFM: Busy weekend, lots of cooking and spin-classing. Not sure if it is TOM or not. Time will tell.
