Ensure and boost. Terrible. Pure protein with 35 grams per can much better. Blend with ice and strawberries. Sold at trader joe or Costco. Vanilla versatile to add flavors. Low carb option!

We have no Trader Joe's or Costco here at all. I'll look to see if available online, though. Yeah, I'd looked at them in the past and remember them NOT being great but need something readily available, too. We're in a very rural area of CT, with a BJ's close, Walmart, and Shop N Save. Shop N Save does have a nice health food area, I'll see what they have there. I brought a little Jay Rob Vanilla Whey with me, and can order more of that (VERY expensive, though!!)

Even Target Carries it I think. I'm sure Walmart would but I've never been in one

I've been really hungry today. No hcg and no carbs = hungry!
I added a slice of Swiss cheese at 11am to get through to my 6 ounces of pork at 1pm.

Dinner is in the oven. 4 ounces of ball tip steak that I got at Costco, and I'll sauté up a cup of green cabbage from the farmers market.

Maybe I'll see a loss in the morning. Fingers crossed!

    Good Morning,

Moving right along .............. down -1 today. I'm not real impressed with the results, but I know a loss is a loss.
taking hcg 6 x 3. Calories were under 1,000 and I hit my macros with higher protein and lower fat , so will keep at these numbers a few more days and see what happens. Not starving, but hunger is more then I'd like. Was hoping hcg would curb that, but may need to increase a little more.

Last ~ sure hope you see a loss cause your macros look good.

    Happy Friday everyone!!

You did great JJ. I'm down 4 ounces but down is down. Friend from east coast arrives at noon and here till Saturday evening, then back next weekend. I didn't sleep enough but I did hydrate yesterday and eat well so I'm glad scale going down.
    Dinner out tonight.

Hey everyone...I'm popping over from the Lovelies thread because I have to say something to Blue.

When I read that you had blood drawn for thyroid while hcg in system I have to put in my 2 cents. Yes, I lurk. It's how I get ALL the info from JJ, Brick & Last on what is going on with them.

So here is my latest experience with hcg & thyroid...

I didn't change my dose while in P2 and I went hyper. Are you aware that hcg will normally elevate thyroid levels? Well, they certainly did for me. Long story short, doc insisted I drop dose & Grammy concurred (fr 120 mg to 30 mg) and ordered new bloods for 6-wk after LIW. Around that first week in P4, my weight really went volatile and I began having a hard time controlling the gains with correction days. I rode it out (angry, for sure) and gained nearly 8 of the 12 lbs I'd lost in that round. No control over this. I just had my bloods drawn and, you guessed it, my T3 & T4 levels were way too low altho TSH was within norm range. Doc agreed to up dose to 60 mg (began just this morn) but in the meantime I began THM One Wk Weight Loss Regiment last Sunday and have lost 4.6 lbs and sitting 3 lbs over LIW with 2 more days on regiment.

The reason I'm telling you this is I hate to see someone else make the same mistake. Grammy had told me she lowers her dose while in P2, but raises it back to norm dose I believe within 2 weeks of ending injections.

Blue, I don't want you to lose what ground you've already covered. Check into this, please. The weight I put on feels like FAT and all around my mid-section...I'm close to goal so I was tickled to experience somewhat of a flatter stomach. Those 8 lbs made me look like I was 6 mos pg with my belly hanging over my capris. Blick.

Now I'm late for getting ready for work, but I needed to post. Hope this helps.

Last--I was shocked to hear you had ended it with Guy. I must have missed something, because I didn't see it coming. Interestingly, I FELT it in your posts, but thought I was reading too much into it. So sorry. Enjoy your BFF time. As a mature, single gal, I know how important it is to finding a partner that makes you hum in all the important areas of life. I totally trust your judgment of what is right for you. Maybe he'll get with it, but in the meantime keeping on, keeping on.

Brick--I always enjoy reading about your remodeling woes and thrills. Congrats on your round so far and getting those stinking inches off those areas that are so hard to slim down.

JonJon--Here, here on getting the Pros to paint & improve while you and DH have fun on days off. We all DO work too hard not to enjoy. I hate, hate, hate painting and I'm considering my bedroom. I had pro do rest of house and loved, loved, loved it. I would have been a nutcase if I'd have done it. Hard-earned money well spent.

Okay, that's it for me. Ta-ta!
    Round 3:
    SW (8/1/15): 134.8 lbs. (+5 lbs R2 LIW)
LIW (8/29/15): 123.2 lbs. TOTAL LOSS -11.6 lbs.; 17.75 inches

    Went from a tight size 12 (164 lbs) to size 6 (123).

Apr 2016 Update: In the midst of Round 4 with a goal of ~123 lbs AGAIN, but more importantly, I'm looking to lose inches. 4/10/16: 126.6; size 6s loose.

Rose, it's great to see you pop in here! I think my thyroid changes in Hcg too but my doc doesn't know I use it so there is no conversation. I'm actually seeing if I can get off these Last 10 yet again and learn to maintain. Maybe I can. I've been in this 10 pound range for 4 years now. My swings used to be 145-152 over long holiday trips. With Hcg I broke my 42 year set point of 143 and got to 140 but can't hold it. I haven't figured out balance yet. I do know that on low carb consistently, I don't gain. It's when I invite in recreational carbs.
Oh the Guy thing. He was put on horrid meds for the last several months prior to spine surgery because he got where it was to painful to get out of bed. Not pain pills but pills for the neuro pain. Now he's had surgery and is getting off the meds but the doctors haven't found s way yet without a lot of mental distress. They also found he was in a hyperthyroid storm at the same time which for two weeks they have not been able to regulate. I didn't realize they had taken him off everything (wicked withdrawal from what I have read and seen in him) when he had his mini meltdown Monday night. I wish he had been able to confide in me but he felt like he had 100 cups of coffee. I'm holding my breathe in hopes that the guy I was falling in love with will resurface when this is over and they have his body regulated. It's a wait and see at this point.

roselady, LURK AWAY!! I absolutely appreciate your input and advice. I felt I needed to get checked here before my spine surgery on Oct 26. I have an appointment with my endo scheduled for Nov 9 that will need to be pushed back. I will not be able to travel from CT yet. Yes, I totally understand the levels can be falsely good, my total fear is that I'm going to utterly crash and blow up like a balloon amidst the surgery recovery. There's little I can do about it right now other than try eating clean and eating ample protein for healing. I'm more than certain when I do have the blood work for endo, the levels will be such that he will start me on thyroid meds. BUT - I did this round before the surgery was scheduled to hopefully combat the steady gains I was having. So, if nothing else, I was able to drop some and give a bit of room weight wise for when I return. And, I'll not be doing another round for a good year, unless I totally fuse well before that time. That'll provide the necessary time to adjust thyroid meds and all, too.

Last, wow, that's really a shocker about Guy! I, too, wish he would've been able to confide in you. That shows how important true communication is, my goodness. Hopefully he'll get himself straightened out and become more open and confiding. I definitely wish you all the best, truly.

Had the final review of surgery today. Hospital will call next Friday to finalize the time. Hubby STILL has the impression this is a quick in-out procedure - 3 level cervical spine fusion! Geesh, the FUP appt is scheduled for Nov 13, he's already pushing for me to be ready to travel back to FL THAT weekend! I just cannot believe this man. Very, very frustrated with him right now - he's being way too pushy, way to bullheaded, and WAY too self-concerned. Not a fan, not a fan

Last: I had no idea what you were dealing with with Guy. It is a shame he didn't talk with you about it. But isn't that like man? At least in my experience.

Rose: hi Rose!!! Ugh...not thinking about kitchen and avoiding hubby...time for his grumpy "this project is impeding on more important stuff"...sit at the table grumpy and not pay attention... Mood. As with all projects there are issues that aren't perfect but I say nothing...he is busy *****ing about it. Distance is best for now.

Blue: sounds like you are about as well planned as you can be. Keeping you in my meditations for a perfect procedure and speedy recovery.

We generally talk about everything. I think that the meds and whacked thyroid created an out of body experience. I'm much more hopeful tonight.

    Thats great to hear, Last!

Brick thank you, I'm trying. Being prepared certainly helps settle my mind.

Today is final VLCD, down to 152.2 this morning. Gives a tad of wiggle room which I really appreciate. I was looking at all the different protein powders last night, comparing all of them. Premier Protein shakes look decent, Pure Protein bars are pretty clean. We are doing some shopping in the big city today and plan on getting some of each.

Hubby said he thought he seen a blender here, if he can't find it, we will get a cheap one while out.
