Thread: P2 Mini Steak and high protein days?

  1. #109
I am so glad I found this thread!! Thank you so much for posting this info!! I tried a mini steak day yesterday and woke up to a 2.2 lb loss this morning!! Hooray!

I drank coffee with cream for breakfast, drank water all day long and ate about 12ozs of steak for dinner and a large apple.

Also, whoever posted the info about "Ultrametabolism", I read 16 chapters last night and I think I am going to try it once I finish this round. How are you doing on it?

Keep up the good work girls!

By the way, I think I started eating my steak around 4pm that day, so if you can just make a couple of more hours,, I think you will be okay!

by the way, have you ever heard of or tried the mac nut fat fast?
I was thinking of trying that too.

    Hi Bobbi

Someone on one of these threads mentioned that she was doing the "Ultra Metabolism" way of eating. It consists of 65 questions that you answer, and then you will be able to determine what path to take. The other poster said that it fit her like a "T"! All I did was google it and found it on the internet. I found the book at my local library. A cookbook also exists.

The reason I was interested is that I have been thinking during the last two weeks of how great I looked and felt when I follwed the "Fit for Life" way of eating years ago. It's premise is about proper food combining, and stresses a plant based diet, but does allow for animal protein (except dairy) if you like. I don't know why I strayed from eating that way, but years passed and I eventually tried eating an all raw diet, which lasted two years. The first year I felt fantastic! My eczema went away and so did my depression. But after two years, I started to feel terrible and couldn't lose the twenty pounds I had gained. I went to the doctor and found out I was slightly anemic, low vit D, low vit b12 and my hormones were were off. My doctor said I need to eat protein, so I did and felt alot better.

I've been eating a Paleo diet for two years, but was still unable to lose weight, in fact I gained 10 pounds! And I still have problems with occasional constipation eventhough I take Rx strength probiotics! When I followed the blood-type diet or the fit for life way of eating, I was pooping 2-3 times a day! I hate to admit it, but I think I need to add beans and/or tofu to my diet. When I do, I just function better. And before everybody gets on my case about beans and tofu, yes, I know all about the supposed downsides.

There are two phases in the Ultrametabolism diet. The first phase is basically an elimination diet, but the recipes look amazing! No gluten, dairy, eggs, etc. the usual allergen suspects. You follow it for 3 weeks. Then phase 2 you add back in those foods to see how you tolerate them..and siince every "body" is different, some may find that they can't eat certain foods anymore without it causing some inflammation or water retention. But you can eat lean protein, dairy, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies, and beans.

I don't know, I'm just trying to find the way of eating that works for me!! YMMV!

Thanks luv for the detailled post. I followed the F4L plan for a year and like you, felt great. It was hard to do at the time, because back then restaurants weren't very accommodating. I was actually thinking of going back on it so your post came at a good time. I shouldn't have stopped.

I too have been anemic so I couldn't become full vegan. I still like my meat but have cut back a great deal.

I will google it and check it out. Thanks again for taking the time to respond!
