    Thanks Bobbi

Ok, so down -1.2lb this morning. Not spectacular but not too shabby either considering I have already felt a couple of TOM cramps coming on. I usually gain 4-5lbs before TOM, so the Steak Day may have been my last opportunity to squeeze in a decent loss and for that I am grateful !!!

BTW, I drank 3L of water and thought I was going to drown. Ate the whole 14oz of beef, split between lunch and dinner. I didn't have any apples and had read somewhere that apple and tomato were intended for their enzymes, so I drank 2 shots of Bragg's ACV , which contains the apple enzymes *gag*.

I am a believer in the P2 Steak Day, and there was nothing "mini" about mine !

This is all so helpful. I'm doing a 23 day round kind of as a detox and I'm doing horrible. This past week has been tough, but I've been trying so hard. I think a steak day or mini steak day might be a good thing.

Both Saturday and yesterday, I was out and about with Husband and a friend who is visiting for the weekend. On Saturday, I didn't plan ahead sufficiently, and didn't have meats thawed to make myself take-along lunch and dinner. So, I decided to wing it. Basically, I had my usual breakfast, skipped lunch, had an apple for an afternoon snack, and ordered a 10-oz portion of fillet mignon at a restaurant, and a lettuce and tomato salad with vinegar and salt. I gave 1/4 of the fillet to Husband. Calories for the day were 501.

I wasn't doing it deliberately to hasten losses. I tend to lose 1/2 pound a day on the average, although at times that average is screwed up by one or two "goose egg" days a week. The reason I did it was because I was flying by the seat of my pants on a poorly planned day. However, there were several benefits to doing this:

    • Being able to sync eating schedules with Husband and friend, who ate brunch and dinner during the weekend, instead of having to eat meager diet food on my own schedule, and then sit and watch while they enjoyed tasty restaurant meals
    • Being able to see a REAL PORTION of food on my plate for once, instead of ending up spitting in anger at having to decimate an already small steak to meet the 100g parameter
    • LOSING 1.2 pounds one day, and another 0.8 pounds the next day. DOUBLED MY WEIGHT LOSS AVERAGE during those two days.

I reread Pounds and Inches, and I found the passage where Dr. S outlines the diet. He says that people shouldn't eat both portions of fruit or starch at the same sitting. However, HE DOES NOT SAY THE SAME ABOUT PROTEIN AND VEGETABLES. Here is the passage from P&I:

To be honest, faster losses weren't what I was after when I decided to combine my lunch and dinner portions into a single meal. I would have been perfectly satisfied with a loss of 0.4 on each day, seeing as it wasn't 10000000000% "on protocol." But, I can't argue with the results, nor with the gratification I had from figuring out a way that I can enjoy a meal out with family and friends, without feeling deprived in the least.
This sounds wonderful! I am going to try it on Saturday - since I will be going out of town and out to dinner. Thanks!

In my case, I couldn't do too many protein days or I would become "immune" to them. Many people on this site say that they have had success changing from one type of correction day to another 2 days in a row...I certainly wouldn't go beyond that, but when it comes to rogue there are not set rules as Margie has stated.

Of course this is all my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt...wait you had better not, 'cause sodium causes bloating LOL.
