    Red face Phase 2: Peanut Butter Day

    Hey y'all. Originally, I wasn't going to post this because it seems nearly impossible, but after testing it multiple times, I wanted to share my experience with you!

    I was stuck at 138 lbs for about 3 days and it was incredibly discouraging. I usually lose every morning, even if it's just 0.2 lbs. So one morning I was so fed up with it that I snapped and grabbed a jar of peanut butter and had 4-5 HEAPING spoonfuls of chunky peanut butter (all natural, no sugar.) I felt so guilty that I fasted the rest of the day until 8:30 am the next morning. This put me at a 24 hour fast.

    I fully expected to wake up to a huge gain. But to my surprise, I dropped 3.6 POUNDS!!!! I weighed and re-weighed and changed the batteries in my brand new scale and weighed again. Sure enough, it was a true loss. I thought "this has to be a fluke. I'm definitely going to regain all this water weight tomorrow." I ate a normal VLCD diet that day and woke up to another 1.2 lb loss. I couldn't believe it! I chalked it up to a lucky experience and moved on.

    Well just a few days ago I hit another stall, and since I have a significant amount of time left in my round (going over 40 days since I'm on hHCG.) I thought "why the heck not. I'd like to test this theory again." Well...I woke up at 8:30 am and had 4 HEAPING spoonfuls of natural peanut butter (nearly half the jar) and drank my coffee. I fasted the rest of the day until 9:00 am the next morning.

    SURE ENOUGH - dropped over 2 lbs!!! I ate my typical VLCD diet yesterday, and today I woke up to another 0.6 lbs loss. Two successful peanut butter days in a row.

    The first I thought was a coincidence. But after testing it twice, I'm sold. It works for me.

    I just had to share!!!

    Here to inform y'all that steak days work for me as well. Full steak days not mini steak days. I'll eat up to about 1.5 lbs of steak with all the fat on (broiled) and an apple later in the day and that helps my stalls big time!

    I do steak and peanut butter days as well if the cut of meat I got wasn't very fatty or wasn't large enough. Today I'm on a steak + peanut butter day (1 T-Bone steak + 1 heaping spoonful of peanut butter.) eaten in the morning at 10:00 am and then I fast for 24 hours until 10 am the next day. I expect to drop at least a pound, they help jump start my losses again.

    If you try and it works for you, let me know on this thread! I'm currently VLCD41 (planning to end on VLCD45!)

    You've certainly had an interesting experiment. It defies all the common logic about fat and HCG.

    Maybe the 24 hour fast afterwards has something to do with how its working for you.


    It makes me wonder if your HCG is actually real. Most people that eat gobs of fat in P2 have an opposite result to yours. If you were running at a caloric and protein deficit without the benefit of HCG, a loss after a pound and a half of steak would make sense.

    I also wonder how this works, as I thought Steak Days were in P3, not Phase 2.

    I always just worked through my stalls, let them run their course. But if it works for you, that is awesome

    I guess the true test of all this will be in phase 3 when I start stabilizing! My Steak + PB day took me down 1.2 pounds and kicked off my losses again.

    Yes, please keep reporting back. You're right--P3 will be the real test to see if you stabilize well.
