I've gone rogue before without great success. I wouldn't recommend going rogue. Rogue can really mess up your losses and stabilization down the road.

Ok I have not logged onto this forum in a while. But I saw this in one of my searches and wanted to share my Rogue round attempt and results. So I have been doing intermittent fasting and started eating OMAD (one meal a day) because of the benefits of fasting and insulin resistance issues. So I decided I would do a round of HCG with the OMAD with a 23/1. Which is 23 hours of fasting and a one hour feeding window - I eat between 6-7PM so I have 3 hours of digestion before bed. I did not want to do a huge session of the stuffing my face before moving into P2 since I was eating a higher fat diet so I didn't.... And ..... its working. I did only one day of P1 (high protein day no carbs and gained no weight) and moved on to P2. I am on P2 Day 6 and I am down 8lbs. I drink a gallon of water a day. 40oz of my water I use and make oolong tea. I sip chicken broth if I get hungry in the day but I have been doing pretty good. I am doing this because when I move into P3 I plan to eat OMAD so I am training myself now while I have the benefit of the reduced appetite. I do not eat fruit nor the melba but I never ate them in previous rounds. As crazy as it may sound I find it so much easier to not eat than to eat small meals. I am not fatigued or sluggish in fact quit the opposite. I can tell I am in fat burning mode because I am constantly urinating. I eat both my veggies and protein in one siting. I have increased my protein by 1oz so I eat roughly 7.5 - 8oz of protein a day. I eat over the course of one hour. Oddly enough even though I am full at the end of my meal I am not tired or sluggish. I am sleeping really well and have no issues with elimination. I believe I am getting the best of both worlds the benefits of fasting and the HCG. I just wanted to share and see if anyone else is doing anything similar. If you do not agree or can't phantom how this would or could work its understandable. Do not waste time bashing me. This is all about being rogue and low carb intermittent fasting is how many HCG'ers maintain their releases. I'm just training my body now. I'm not a fan of quinoa (feels like I'm eating air LOL) so I don't eat it. For salad dressings, I make the fat-free "Caesar" dressing, which is really quite good, or I'll take a tablespoon of guacamole and mix it with balsamic or champagne vinegar. I don't limit fruit to the Simeons protocol fruits, but allow myself one cup of any fruit - grapes, pineapple, blueberries, kiwi fruit, whatever. I keep Ezekiel bread in the freezer and once in a while will cut off 1/4 piece of bread and use that as a grissini serving, since it's a whole grain and not a processed Melba product. I allow myself any low cal veggies and don't limit it to the Simeons veggies. So broccoli, carrots, bok choy, green beans, eggplant, yellow squash and zucchini, mushrooms, etc. My P2 "chili" is black beans with mushrooms and tomatoes, and occasionally I'll have a portabello mushroom "burger" instead of my other protein serving.

I'm losing about 0.6-1# per day. Since there's literally *no* fat in a plant based diet (other than any small amounts of guacamole or nuts you might add), the losses are terrific and you can keep eating this way post protocol since it's the healthiest diet out there. It's the only diet known to prevent and even reverse heart disease.
I think its great you are doing what is right for you. However, women typically would not lose the same as men even on strict protocol and with your plan it might be less. For your personal reasons you may do well but unsure how long term it will work.

I know this is a late reply, but I have found that wine if I have stayed very strict throughout the day doesn't seem to have much impact. However it does affect the liver where fat is metabolized so I imagine it can slow it down. Also wine makes you want to eat ans it is hard to say no after a glass of wine! Probably better to stay away from it, although every now and then I let myself have a glass of white wine.

Throughout my hCG journey, I've definitely adapted some "rogue" habits, although they're on the lighter side compared to some. I did my first rounds back in 2010, and have spread out rounds over the years since then, with 2 abandoned rounds in the middle (I initially kept the weight off, but due to medial issues, stress, and depression, gained it back and have been working on losing it again for good over the past year via hCG and lifestyle changes). My first 2 rounds were POP (and hhCG), and I've experimented since then. I tend to have food (especially protein) aversions while using hCG, so these tweaks help get me through without torturing myself.

My rogue habits: I mix veggies regularly, sometimes eat off-protocol veggies (broccoli or zucchini usually, and very rarely green beans), sometimes eat off protocol fruit (oranges or berries other than strawberries), drink Jay Robb Whey Protein shakes regularly in place of eating proteins, eat buffalo and scallops as proteins, and don't trim every bit of fat off my proteins (if there is any).

My losses in my rogue rounds have been about the same as my POP rounds (19-22 lbs for a 30 day round). I had one round where I lost 24 lbs, but I was at my heaviest then and had more to lose, so I think that had something to do with it. I've never really had trouble stabilizing once I figured out P3 (my first P3 was a nightmare after a POP round with literally NO cheats. I added stuff in too fast and just sent my body over the edge. It took 20 days to stabilize that round and I was up and down for a long time. This forum was a life saver for me!). I'm lucky in the fact that so far, I don't have any food intolerances though as long as eat mostly "clean" (like many people, I gain if I eat nothing but refined carbs and junk for days on end, but occasional indulgences create no gains) so P3 is programmed for me at this point. Crossing fingers it stays that way.

Elf - I've definitely had days like that! As long as you get back on the wagon, you'll be okay. I'm having some personal issues in my life right now and I'm sooooo tempted to have some wine to take the edge off. But I can't have just one glass especially under duress. I'm only on VLCD3 so I'm going to push past the craving and stay on protocol. I have been known to have a vodka mixer (with la criox) here and there and still do fine with losses. BUT I really want to see my goal this round so I'm going to go as long as I can without even looking in the liquor cabinet. lol

    GOOD LUCK!

Natalie, when you are feeling stressed treat yourself each night to Bengal Spice herbal tea... it is so delicious and naturally sweet it is hard to believe it has no sweeteners added, It is our treat each night and very satisfying, Most grocery stores carry it, It has cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and other spices.

That sounds divine! I will definitely try it. It sounds like a chai tea and I love chai. The key is to replace most of the times I drink alcohol with drinking tea instead. I can do this. Thanks again for the tip!

The Bengal Spice tea from Celestial Seasonings is definitely yummy. I really like the India Spice one too. It's chai based, and the spices in it are really nice. Sometimes I add a few drops of vanilla stevia to it. The Bengal Spice is caffeine free, but the India Spice is not, just so you're aware.

In all the successful rounds I've done, I've been pretty strict. I did go out to dinner one night and ordered dry white fish and steamed vegetables. I think it was zucchini or broccoli if I'm remembering correctly. That's the only time I've ever had an off protocol vegetable and I remember it tasted so so good. That's kind of a sad thing about this diet...you get so tired of the allowed vegetables that you start dreaming of broccoli and zucchini and cauliflower.

I also frequently had 1 T of Mini Moo half and half instead of milk. At work, the choices are skim milk or mini moos for the coffee. I won't drink black coffee, but I won't give up coffee either. And I've never seen the point of skim milk so half and half it was.

I have often used cottage cheese or 1 egg + 3 egg whites as a protein choice, but those are allowed and I've had normal losses with the cottage cheese and excellent losses with eggs. And I've always done sublingual rx or subcutaneous injections rather than the original IM injections.

I did try one rogue round. I used shirataki noodles. I also skipped fruit and had Greek yogurt for breakfast in it's place. Basically, I was having the same number of calories with fewer carbs and more protein, kind of inspired by some experimenting hcgchica had done and by hcg 2.0. I did not finish the round. I think I was losing okay, not spectacularly, but I was kind of hungry and I think the freedom of eating off protocol made it mentally more difficult for me. Give me an inch and I'll take a mile. Give me shirataki noodles and Greek yogurt and I'll fall off plan entirely.

Also in the rogue category for P3 and P4, I'm not fond of steak days. I almost always do egg days instead. Sometimes I do pot roast days. I did a Greek yogurt day once, but I don't like Greek yogurt enough to eat that quantity of it again. All the correction days were effective at getting my weight where it needed to be, but egg days are the best.
