DebyKaye, sorry to hear that you are having such a tough time of it. I wonder if you aren't leptin resistant? Studies done with lab rats show that those who are leptin resistant will not drop weight even when deprived of food. One of the things that people are trying on the Leptin Reset diet is to "front load" protein for breakfast (50 to 75 grams). This is supposed to shut off appetite later in the day, so you're not as hungry in the evening. Also, no dairy or fruit for the first 6 weeks, no snacks, and last meal should be 3 to 4 hours before bedtime, sleep should be 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Coconut oil & omega 3 (fish oil) supplement daily. Supposedly by doing that for 6 weeks, your leptin signally may be restored (depending on how out of balance one is). Many of us are trying the Reset for P3, and some people are continuing to lose weight during P3 by doing this. Good luck, I hope you find the key that unlocks the magic doorway!
I so want to really follow that leptin thread but it makes me anxious! So much info! I do want to look into if for p3 and for when I reach goal (next round...wahoo!).

I know! There's so many pages and it moves very quickly. If I had to start at the beginning, I'm not sure I would read it. Currently, most folks are talking about Dr. Jack Kruse's leptin prescription. He has a blog http://jackkruse.com/jacks-blog/ and he also posts on Mark's Daily Apple (Primal Blueprint) under the screen name "Digital Surgeon". It's a ton of information, but it leaves me hopeful that stabilizing at a normal weight and correcting metabolic imbalance is possible.

CONGRATS DEB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a wonderful day you are going to have today! lol. Isn't it amazing how the scale can really determine our moods and outlook going forward? lol

Lisa - thanks so much for the link. I'll look into it. I knew Colleen had said in some forum post how that Dr. was posting in MDA but I couldn't find. I dunno about the no or very little dairy thing. ha! I am totally curious tho.

AFM: drop of .2 last night. It's something at least. I did 2TB of cocoa crack (and cooked my shrimp in coco oil last night as well) and have been remaining on the moderate to slightly large levels of ketones on my sticks. I am going to bump up to 3TB of crack today and see where I go ketosis wise.

We were supposed to go camping this weekend but decided not to. Boo! There were many factors involved in the decision making process. For one, the camp sites we usually go to will be in the 90's degree wise during the day (yuck) and will be filled w/ other campers due to the holiday weekend (double boo!). Also, there's still fire restrictions in that area.

The other area we were going to go to that will have cooler weather and fire restrictions lifted was a 4-5 hour drive. Then thinking about the traffic on the way back on Monday would make it a 6 hour drive. Then there's the gas expense....etc....not a huge deal but we figured to save that money, go camping on a non-busy weekend...blah blah blah.

Well, silly me, I say close to protocol, but I think I will use at least a tbsp a day of coconut oil with my meats, so I guess I'll be doin' it rouge anyways
I'm glad you're about to do another round. It's always interesting to see how rogue you are and still lose. Good job with stabilizing. Ain't it great? I'm vlcd 6, and having people over tonight. Was hungry til I ate a cucumber with ACV and lots of water. Gonna have all my protein at dinner, a small filet, and a big salad, with CO dressing, if I can get it to turn out okay. Will most likely have a vodka or two. Hopefully I will still have a loss tomorrow. Wondering if I should have a Jay Robb shake if I get hungry. We probably won't eat til 7:00 or so and that's a long way off. Or not...if I'm gonna have a drink? We shall see.

I had problems in P2 with hunger because I was taking too much. You said you decreased and it was a little better. I remember G~dizzle and I were going back and forth with each other trying to get our doses corrected because we were also having problems. I'm sure each round is different, so what worked previous for you doesn't mean it will be the same this round. Don't be afraid to keep decreasing. I had to decrease my dose by half of what was reccommended before I could get my appetite to stabilize. Hang in there babe and let us stand by you!!!

Hey G ~ plenty of room out here for ya!! LOL 3/4 of the way back of our property is woods so you could even camp in the wilderness. Congrats on getting back to LDW, too!!

I'm doing great ...... back to my pre-ALL vacation and camping weight! LOL Still 5.5 under LDW, but 2.5 away from my goal. I would love to get to 150 by Labor Day, but I'm not going to whine if I don't. Like I said before, 150 (to me) still sounds kinda high for a goal weight, but I wear a size 8 comfortably now right off the rack ..... so I'm good! I really don't care so much about what the tag says, but I just feel so great and healthy at this weight. Size 10 almost feels too uncomfortable????? Who'd-a-thunk it!! And my belly is flat!! I know it's the high protein. I told one of my sister's the other day that I think I finally "broke the code"!!

Take care eveyone and DebyK ........... need to hear from you. OR we'll have to take a road trip to Seaside!!

I think size matters so much more than weight. With all the inches lost, I am not so stuck on a weight and hope that somewhere in the 150's will get me in all 10's and 8's would be even better!

I'm doing another refeed day today. I've been stalled for 2 days and just having LOTS of cravings, constipated and dealing with dizzy spells...just feeling "off". So, hoping a refeed day will help me get moving in the right direction again. I have 12 more pounds to my final goal, so I don't want to move into P3 and do a whole other round. I'll keep you posted.

In p2, I do mini steak days or fage days to break a stall. I pull these out when I am 2 days at the same weight. I pull in fat. For a steak day, I eat up to 8oz of ribeye in 1 sitting. I sometimes do semi-fatty steaks such as a NY strip. I just make sure to pull in fat to shake up the body and metabolism. If it doesn't do the trick after that day I repeat w/ that same steak the next day and it 8oz all day long in bits and pieces.

For fage days, I eat 7oz of the full fat and like 14oz of the fat free. Eat it all day in like 4 sittings. I don't do berries or anything. The farthest I take this is adding raw cacao powder to it and of course, stevia or truvia to sweeten.

I just did a macadamia nut day to test it out and it worked for me.
I am 5'5 with, I'd say close to a med frame and weigh 136. I don't have a large frame I know that for sure. I am hungry, but I don't know if it's true hunger or just the fact that I am craving "normal" food. Does that make sense? This second round has been very hard for me than the first round. I was mentally set in the first round and very dedicated, never cheated, this round is very difficult for me and I cheated for the first time the other night at work with a couple mini snickers. Haven't weighed in since then, with working nights, makes it difficult to weigh in. I will weigh in tomarrarow morning. I have family here over the weekend with the holiday...very difficult to focus right now I will admit. But like I said, I don't know if it's true hunger or just the fact that I want to eat other foods

Hmmm, maybe others will chime in about adding in the shake. I have yet to try that myself. As for the drink, I was all about gin & mineral water in P2. Went the first week/week and a half w/o booze and then read a post on here where people were still losing while drinking vodka or gin-- of course w/o the sugary mixers. So, gin & sodas with a splash of lime are my new thing. Going to stay away from drinking for the first week of this round and then I will introduce it next Friday.

So today is day one and I feel like I am grounded or something. Going to try to stick as close to protocol as I can--for as long as I can. I think I'll try the coconut oil in a few days. Wanna see that scale move before I start with some tiny rogue things.

So, I found this interesting. I have been at the same exact weight for the past 3 days. This never happens. I fluctuate all over the place--give or take a .2 or .4 or whatever. Just crazy. I am starting this round 1.2 above LDW. Was hoping to get back to LDW before starting, but oh well. I'll remember that for the next P2--which hopefully I won't have to do, but 3 rounds seems to be the magic number sticking out in my head.

Alright ladies, I better get to the farmers market for some blueberries (guess I am still rogue'n it) and then I'm heading to Trader Joes to see if they have individually packaged 4oz chicken breasts. One of the gals on another thread I'm on said she found them, but she lives on the east coast, so not sure if we got the same stuff here on the west coast. Sure hope so, because prepackaged, individually wrapped, 4oz pieces of chicken sounds so much better than having to buy fresh chicken and cut it up. So gross. Granted I doubt its organic chicken, but I think ease is going to win in this case. lol.

Hope the scales are being nice to everyone. I feel hunger coming on. Grrrrr.

    Caressa,
Quick question...more of a thought. The first P2 round I did I added MCT's either in the form of mac nuts or choc delight. Apparently ketones are produced when your body is burning fats...and since mac nuts are mostly MCT's (medium chain triglycerides) and your body doesn't store them but burns them...I think the ketone strip could be indicating the burning of the additional fat you are taking in but maybe not the body fat you could be burning. My experience is that weigh-in's go much better when I don't take in extra fat (b/c my body burns less of my own fat). I ck'd with my Dr on my suspicions and she confirmed it. I hope I made this clear and didn't muddy it too much. I guess simply put, if you take in MCT's your body will burn them and reflect it on ketone strips but it doesnt necess. mean you're burning body fat.
Now I know this is the rogue thread but I just thought I would toss this out in case you slow down. I have seen people slow with nuts b/c of the extra calories. Nuts are almost pure fat with 9 cal per gram so if we are supposed to be around 500 for the day, things go awry fast! BUT who knows? I'm finding out that our bodies are very different from one another. Just hoping to pass along something useful...

Ah...interesting thought, Amanda! Didn't put 2 and 2 together w/ mac nuts and coco oil and ketones.

I am going to keep my eye on that. I have incorporated a lot more fat in this round and my losses (daily avg) is better than last round. Last round was r2 so that could also be the reason...cuz we all "know" that r2 is popular for lower losses for whatever reason. I've been "fat cycling" this round and have only had 1 true "stall" when I then broke quicky with the mac nut days.

I wonder if I can do a round again w/o any fats. lmao. I have been having too much fun w/ ribeye's, NY strips, coco oil...etc.

Ugh, don't say that, k?! I want to hear, OMG R2 is da sheeeeet! You lose SO much!

Lol. Interesting info Amanda. I haven't done the keytone strip thingy. I was trying to do the PH thingy, but kinda forgot about it. Whoopsies. lol.

Caressa, how much did you lose during your rounds? What day are you on now and how much have you lost? Oh all the decisions to be made about going rogue!

I invited a gal to come on over to the Rogue thread, so is doing this diet and juicing in P2. I hope she comes, because I want to hear her journey! I'd love to juice during P2 as well. So many decisions
