Hey Rusty, how are your loses when you go past the 40 days? Do you keep loRsing? Does it slow?
Hardee, I want it to work too. I think your right, I do stay more stable when I eat more. Been pigging out today. Nuts, watermelon, ice cream (i know, not protocol, but thats why I'm rogue) it wasn't that good anyway. I would prefer frozen yogurt but didn't have it. I need to get some bacon and some cottage cheese, and some A-1 steak sauce, yum. I got a couple filet mignon last week and ended up freezing them, couldn't have A-1. Probably loaded with sodium, probably why I love it. Want to eat something besides meat. Will have to get some charcoal and grill some, love swiss cheese hamburgers on the grill, tomato and onion. Oh, I had some swiss cheese today too.

Just be sure to check the sugar content on everything. I've been eating sf Breyer's ice cream. My steak sauce says 3g of sugar. I wouldn't do that yet if I were you. I'm just recently using things with that much sugar. Check the labels of different brands. A lot of the time you can find one that's way less in sugar then the others. I go as sf as possible. Sugar simply isn't good for your health in general. Even if I wasn't dieting I would limit it. I eat lots of cheese. I love bacon and sausage too. I eat cream cheese on a half of a CK bagel every day. It's great! I also eat a lot of buffalo wings. I make my own sauce and dressing with real bleu cheese too. Wings seem to make me lose a little. Make sure you stay below net carbs in p3.

No two weeks are ever the same. With going past 40 days, it isn't so much about the losses. Sometimes I gained a bit, but lost it the same week, sometimes I would have great losses, followed by stalls. The hard part is staying on track and focused. This is why I would never recommend anyone go over 40 days. It can be a real mental challenge!

Has anyone tried ground flaxseed in p2?

I hate it when you break a stall and lose around a pound a day for the next 5 to 7 days and then stall again. I did that in round 1 in the last couple weeks. I would like to go longer, but like you said its hard mentally, especially when you go up and down. I also understand why people stop weighing themselves every day. It does mess with your mood.

My family will atest to the "mood" thing. When I am on a downward cycle, I am a happy human. When I stall for a week, I am not so happy, and when I gain? Watch out!!!!

I really like P2, mainly because I don't have to think about my food. I really like steak and cucumbers dipped in mustard. So, for the most part, P2 foods don't bother me, in fact, other then mixing veggies, I stick to P2 stuff, everything else makes me gain!

Hi ladibug, It's great to hear that you're stabilizing. Isn't it a great feeling of success? Since I started the thyroid meds I actually dropped a few lbs quickly but they are slowing coming back. That's fine I am still below LDW. This past week and a half I had more "bad" stuff then I ever have in such a short time. Had to grab fast food a few times due to appts, ate out at Denny's last weekend, made lasagna one day, actually had some potatoes with my steak too and still a little below. Tonight my husband and I ate out for our anniversary too. I'll see what happens with that in the next day or two.

It's been one hell of a rocky road with the thyroid meds. Some days better, some worse while adjusting the dose. I have aches I didn't have if I get it wrong. I also get heart palps if I don't time it right. It is tricky but I'm sick of feeling lousy, run down and losing my hair. The hair is getting better but still a little loss. It has filled in a lot around the hairline so I can't see my scalp anymore. It's thin in the back but improving. It will take months for it to all grow back. I swear you really wouldn't believe how much I lost these 6 months. I can't believe I still have any hair at all left. I am still taking the iron supplements. From what I am being told, iron is probably the main cause of the hair loss. I didn't have any idea I had low iron. They say it's typical with thyroid issues though. If you take vitamins, make sure they have iron in them. My daily vitamin did not have it. Maybe I could have avoided the hair loss if I had been taking iron all along. However if it weren't for the hair loss, I never would have went and had testing done. In a way it may really have changed my life for the better. Talk about irony huh!

Hi, glad you're having better days, and less hair loss. I understand the hair loss. My daughter lost way more everytime she washed her hair then I did. She lost such big handfulls that I even put it in a baggie to take to the dr. I was really worried for a while because it was so bad. That is the one thing, only thing, that the synthroid did help. She still loses hair, but not nearly as much. At least this break seems to be going faster, almost 2 weeks into p3. Will up the protein this time on p2, cause don't really eat fruit often and don't do the melba, having a hard time with the veggies also. Will try to do some different veggies to get some in. Hopefully, it will go better for loses this round. Can you tell me where you ordered your thyroid meds from, the address or website? I need to check on getting some new bloodwork done for Kaitlin. Then try some new meds.
Going to go hurt some kids now, jk. Talk to you later.

hhi! I know that mini steak days are off protocol, but any senior members that have done this...please give me your input..

I did a mini steak day yesterday after a 5 day stall. I ate nothing until dinner (8 p.m) and only drank lots of water.I had a 10 oz steak seasoned with only black peper and grilled it and ate an apple! I havent had any bowel movements, and i was up .6 this morning. Have you guys lost weight the day after steak day once youve had bm? I mean i do have 10 ounces of steak still inside of me! haha..

Please tell me what you think. :-)

    Hardee,
I just wondered, is it always that way when increasing and adjusting the thyroid meds? Do you just play it by ear, and see how much works for you? Or do you have an idea how much to stop at? I read some more of it, have to check to see if I have read it all. It's kind of confusing, at least all the different tests to check all the different things. Can you tell me which tests you ordered, don't know if she needs all of them. I already know that she has low iron, and a few other vitamins. I saw where to order the tests but don't know which to order. Thanks, ladibug (Theresa)

Hey Zara! Just wanted to chime in about lack of BMs. I started taking 250 mg of magnesium twice a day, and that seemed to help "get things moving".

I am in P3, and did a steak day and it didn't do anything for me. I have done apple days on protocol, and had a couple of successes with that, but now I can't touch apples, 'cause they make me gain.

I would suggest eating clean, to see if that helps. Try the magnesium and maybe bunches of spinach or lettuce greens.

    Hope that helps!
