Thread: Round 3 Day 44 close to goal weight but picked bad goal, how do you choose...?

Question Round 3 Day 44 close to goal weight but picked bad goal, how do you choose...?

Second post ever, I am on a roll today! So, I was really hoping I'd reach my goal weight on this current round but I had very slow losses this time around (but never cheated, ever, on this diet). The company I ordered from messed up my order so I got a new vial for shots recently. My first round was a little longer than recommended and successful, so I thought I'd just hang in there again on this 3rd round to reach my goal no matter how long it takes. Now I am 2 pounds away from my goal but I am losing just .1 - .2 pounds a day on average now and it is taking so darn long.

Unfortunately, I feel like I also picked a bad goal, anyone else have that problem? I still see too much fat and 2 pounds just ain't going to do it. Because I have a fresh vial, I really want to keep going so I don't have to do this ever again... (yes, I know most people gain back some weight but here is hoping I am one of the lucky ones)... but even when I reach my goal I won't be happy. I could use up the vial and still have about 3 weeks left to keep going if I want. I think I'd need to get a lot more below my goal weight, maybe up to 10 pounds but I don't know, before I am happy. Plus, out of desperation, I just in the past few days switched to HCG 2.0 and reduced carbs to get me over the stalls. It helped a bit and I am now literally never hungry, but I know when I go back to eating more normal I will automatically regain water/glycogen in my muscles. So I almost feel I have to lose more so I can mentally deal with stabilizing higher, if that makes sense.

I'm torn between pushing on and giving up since I am over the 40 days. I want to be totally done with P2 but am sad that I see another round in my future. I guess on the positive side I could eat anything I want for two days some time in the future. If I just go P3/P4 "forever" I don't see how I can really ever eat real pizza again, just trying to find a bright side here

How did you all deal with unhappy endings of rounds? How do you all pick a goal weight?
Thanks for "listening", all comments will be much appreciated!

(Note I am intentionally not mentioning my goal weight in this thread because everybody is different and a number might sound good to one person but bad for another and I don't want to go down that rat hole here) . I will say I am female, 46 and post-menopausal due to surgery but taking HRT, also on thyroid meds. I'll also say that I took my optimal weight as a 20 something and just added 10 lbs for "old age", and that is how I got my goal. I had a lot to lose (over 60 lbs) and this was my best guess at the time.

I really hope to encourage you to end your round now and finish to goal in a separate round later.

I don't think you are being realistic in thinking you can keep going and lose another 12 pounds or more. It sounds to me like your body is telling you it is done losing because of the super slow rate of loss. If you continue, you risk immunity and then you would not have the option to do HCG again for a very long time, if ever.

Another thing to consider: getting to goal without figuring out how to maintain puts you in major danger of regaining. You can use the time in between this and your final round to get maintenance figured out. That waiting time is really a gift and is critical to success.

Some of us have had to come to terms with the reality that we can't indulge in things the same way we used to ever again. So you may not be able to have pizza in the same way you had it before. You'll need to find new ways to find the flavors that you miss. But the good news is that your tastes can change and you can still enjoy a lot of good food while still maintaining your losses. The metabolism changes from the time on HCG give you the opportunity for success, but you have to cooperate by giving your body the proper fueling it needs to keep things humming along.

I decided on my last full round that whatever weight I got to would be my goal weight. I was a little disappointed it wasn't lower, but I was so happy to finally get close to my best weight that I was quite happy. You do have to accept that your body after menopause is not going to look the same as your college days body, even if you are at a normal weight. I was over the moon that I can now wear size 6 jeans, and that helped reinforce the reality of my success in my mind rather than some ideal image I might have harbored. Its a big adjustment, and you have to give yourself time to ease into feeling comfortable with your body changes. Two pounds from your mental goal is pretty darn close. You may find that its just fine to end up there even though you probably resist that thought now.

Thanks, Leez. I actually woke up this morning with my stall broken so I have just a pound to go to my original goal. I think I can hang in there for just a couple days more. It is not where I hoped to be as far as appearance goes, but going to give myself a break when I hit it. I miss exercise and my fav Indian food which I found I can eat on P3 as long as I verify there is no sugar added or rice. I may be back for another round sometime in the future. Thanks again.

Glad to hear it. I think that's a much better plan. Wishing you all the best for a solid stabilization in P3.
