What is dry fasting?
That sounds like not a good idea while on hcg. You produce ketones on vlcd that need to be flushed out. Hence the need for lots of water. If you drink water in a short time i would be concerned with water intoxication, Is this something you are seriously considering on hcg or after?

I give myself 6 hours to drink my daily recommended water which based on my current weight is only 85 oz. I drink 33 oz (1 liter) in 2 hours. Water intoxication would be drinking more than 1 liter per hour. Since I’m not working out, I couldn’t drink 1 liter in an hour if I tried.
I always drink my weight divided by 2 in ounces. Never been one to drink more than what’s recommended. I know some people who drink a gallon per day because they think that’s necessary to flush, but my weight divided by 2 in ounces is perfect for me.
Everything I’m doing is within protocol. I’m just choosing to limit the hours in which I consume everything, but all within reason.

Dear Erin,
Aloha! Where can I read about your HCG journey? Thanks and congratulations on maintaining!!!
Intermittent fasting is actually a part of the HCG protocol if you follow the food list which is published as 2 meals--lunch and dinner. However, it may just be a coincidence rather than an intentional strategy, as it is mentioned that you can split up the meals throughout the day however you wish.
My only caution to those thinking of trying it is that if you already have thryroid or adrenal issues, intermittent fasting can adversely affect those conditions. It can also cause problems for those who tend to hypoglycemia, as Rose mentioned. So you just want to be aware of how you feel. If you experience any kind of distress, it may not be for you.

Please note that any suggestions I make are based on the Original Protocol.

I'm a huge fan of IF, but in the past when I've overindulged or am feeling like my immunity is weak, I'll do a day of tea and lemon water, followed by a day of fresh cold pressed juices. And by juices I don't mean the high caloric kind - greens with lemon and ginger, etc. which run about 40 calories for 12oz. They flush me out nicely and revitalize after say, a weekend of wine and higher fat foods, and get me back on track to feeling better. Just my 2 cents!

I am your opposite, Roselanoue - type 2 diabetic. I eat a ketogenic diet and I use the ketones as fuel instead of glucose. Fuel levels with keto are much more consistent so I don't typically get the low energy / glucose depletion crashes that I used to have.
The result of the keto way of eating (WOE) is a lot like what HCG was designed to do during pregnancy - keep a constant supply of nutrients available to the growing fetus.
