Thread: Feeling great, but have a lot who are worried about me......

Feeling great, but have a lot who are worried about me......

I'm on P1R2D9. I feel great! I've lost a total of 8.5lbs. I am getting prescription injections through a board certified OB/GYN. She is keeping a regular eye on my blood pressure (which has been slightly elevated), and my keytones (which are moderately elevated). Many of my friends and family do NOT like the fact that I'm on this diet. They are scared to death for my life. My good friend is a pharmacist and is sending me voice mails and emails re: the risk of pulmonary embolisms and other thrombotic events. Others are stating that it is not natural to be on 500 cals a day, etc. etc. I went into this feeling confident that it was a safe health plan, but I have to be honest, with all of my friends and family TOTALLY against it.....it's hard to feel confident. On another note, like I said, I'm on day 9 and I"ve lost 8.5 lbs., I have great energy, my clothes are starting to feel a bit looser, and I have HOPE. ANyway, if I don't have a massive heart attack or stroke (according to others), this will be a fabulous journey. It's just hard....I feel like I'm an experiment and everyone's telling me, "DON'T DO IT!!". One told me, "I"m desperate to lose weight too, but it certainly is not worth an embolism to me". ......(sigh) Discouraging. That's why I so love this forum..

Are pulmonary embolism's/stroke/heart attack something known to worry about on HCG?

My doctor said that yes, if you have a history of blood clots, you should not go on this diet. I don't have the history of blood clots/embolisms though, and I am LOVING the way I feel!

I say forget the nay-sayers. This is about you and your journey. HCG works, and there wouldn't be so many of us doing it if it was so dangerous. I would absolutely NEVER recomend a 500 calorie per day diet unless it was done in conjunction with HCG. I think the problem is that the 500 cals freaks a lot of people out right off the bat, but rarely do they look further into it. The science behind it is absolutely sound and is proven, but unfortunately there are too many people that will speak about it without any knowledge. But only you can really determine what's ultimately good for you, and as long as you are feeling good and doing well, just keep going. And when someone give you crap about it, my reccommended response is this- listen politely, thank them for the advice/concern, and smile at the knowledge that you've found what really works for you. Best to you, and happy losing!!

From my understanding, the threat of pulmonary events or embolism caused by hCG is the same as the threat of pulmonary events or embolism caused by pregnancy. In other words, you're 1000 times more likely to win powerball.

I am so sorry you have this struggle with those closest to you! Those who do not want to understand this (or couldn't have the control themselves) seem to find all kinds of things wrong with hcg. Stay the course. If I had listened to my DH back in September, I would still be unhealthy and unsure of what would work for me. But I am here to tell you, I have done 2 rounds of Rx injections (just like you), lost 35 lbs. and have never felt better! I no longer need cholesterol lowering meds, I know my food sensitivities now and I have learned to really listen to my body. I am hypothyroid and my numbers have remained level throughout all phases of HCG. You know what's best for you! Listen to yourself...how do you feel? Let the naysayers say nay while you say YES to the health and wellness you know you deserve.

Best of luck! We will be your support. Listen to yourself and act on what your body tells you.
Hugs and Smiles to you cmhailey!

Keep trekking, use this forum for support, and ask your family/friends and others to respect your decision. As your fat continues to be released, be not surprised when the skeptics begin to inquire more as to how they, too, can join the success.

Another point: Obesity is tied to numerous health ailments, diseases and fatality. Either way, we all will die - and I'd rather die fit than fat.

Hi.....just thought I would chime in....
I love this diet and as you can see by my ticker I have been doing it a little while now and I am on the home stretch.....
Stick with it as long as you are feeling Ok it is sooooo worth persevering with it.
I made sure that I followed Dr Simeon's "Pounds & Inches" and found this site excellent for inspiration recipes and advise....some you take some you don't as all our bodies are different....
I found that my system didn't like the short round and I should have followed Colleens advise which was to do no less than 30days.....Anyway we live to learn....
You are doing great and keep up the good work....
    Take care....Kym

Have the nay sayers ever checked the side effects of any meds they are on that are "safe"?? I bet they are more like to have a pulmonary embolism then you with hcg! Show them all! Look on the bright side if they are right (which I highly doubt) you won't hear them say "I told you so!" Lol

    Good luck and great losses!
