I'm right there with you. Yesterday was my birthday, but I started not feeling well. Laid down last night around 8 pm to rest. Went to bed at 10, and had a rough night. but this morning, I got up determined to begin, as I have been putting this off for about 2 weeks now. I still have a terrible headache and stomachache, and it's time for dose #2. ..ugh.

I've been feeling awfully crappy, too! Can't kick this migraine to save my life, and I can't sleep at night.. so eating all of this crappy high carb/fat/sugar food is definitely not helping matters!
I've been putting this off, too- and was going to wait until my sister wanted to do it with me, but she keeps telling me "well, after my birthday/daughters birthday/dads birthday/thanksgiving..." So I decided to take the plunge alone I am currently eating pretty much an entire box of mac and cheese, and relishing in the carbs and cheese that I will most definitely end up feigning for

So this is your second round? How did you do on your first one? Any pointers or words of advice?

    Also- happy belated birthday!

    Wow Kelley!
You're losing well for the first 2 days! I'm down about 6 pounds, but I ended up taking one more day to load (Wednesday) because my hectic day Tuesday didn't allow me to load enough (barely ate a thing!)
I am really impressed that you have the will power to stay on and even do this while balancing a family who definitely needs you! I admire that
I'm really excited about this- and nervous because even after a couple days, I'm craving carbs and sweets- which got me here in the first place! haha I just have to remind myself to look at the scale- and remember why I'm doing this.. it's only 6 weeks... it's only 6 weeks

Did you prepare any of your meals ahead of time, or are you making 4 meals every day for everyone? I was thinking about doing that so I won't feel the urge to cheat with something "convenient" if I'm rushed..

I'm glad to have someone to talk to during this, and get tips from- if you can do it, then I have no excuse!

    Here's so a successful phase 2!

    Day 3

Thanks Amy, We can do this! I wanted someone I could talk to help me through this so I'm less likely to cheat. For myself I boiled my chicken for the week ahead of time. I boiled it with Tony cacherys. That way I have it made and it saves me time between all house work and taking care of the little ones. Day 1 I had it plain with green beans, day 2 I cut it into small pieces had a tomato so I made the HCG chili. One night for dinner I had shrimp with brocoli soy sauce and red pepper flakes. That night I made my husand shrimp stir fry with all types of veggies. I cook my husband breakfast and he makes me coffee.

I actually made a chart that is on the fridge that I record my daily weight and have my measurements on there. When I see the progress on the cart and you know that its a fairly easy diet to stick to it helps. I take care of my family and I'm raising two beautiful children, but it's time I do something for myself!! Thats how I see it. If I don't do this now and stick with it, I'm going to forever think what if I continued that diet, how much could I have weighed today?

This is going to be a long and challanging journey, but we are all going to do well. One of the main reasons I'm doing this too is because I want to do a surrogancy for a family friend but need to be in a healthy bmi first. So that is another thing that keeps me going. Hoping sooner than later to call her and say "I've dropped the weight, lets make you a baby!!"

I am a big candy freak when you have a sweet tooth like I have had once. Make sure that next meal you eat some strawberries. I ate them slow and enjoyed every bite!

Wow, surrogacy! That is quite an undertaking!! Commendable, for sure.

That's a good idea- putting your chart on the fridge! I found myself meandering around the house, like I was looking for something, only to realize I was looking for a snack- and then I realized that I do this pretty much every night!! So I'm trying to drink a LOT more water to make myself feel fuller so I don't want to snack.. the weird thing is I normally don't eat a lot of food to begin with!

I hear you on the sweet tooth- mine is horrendous!! I think (am hoping and praaaaaying!) once I get passed the initial cravings I will be okay, and be able to appreciate the natural sweetness of fruit and such.. I already found myself thinking "wow, this orange tastes awesome!" this morning

I made some fruit pops with lots of different flavors- spiced orange, orange vanilla, strawberry toffee, yadda yadda- and they really seemed to help my sweets craving last night as I stared at the candy corn and jelly belly's my sister (who's my roommate) has sitting out. Tiny victory number one for me!
I also attempted some mayan hot chocolate w water instead of milk, and for being water based, it's delicious! so i get my chocolate fix!

I'm with you though, on the "if i cheat, how much COULD I have weighed" mentality- definitely an awesome one to have!

I am very driven on this diet! We both can succeed or goal weight!! We will prove to everyone nothing can hold us back!! (:

When I was a teenager, 80 lbs lighter, my dad told me he would pay me $10 a lb i lose, to go on a diet. My sister was going to pay me $5 a lb. I didn't do it. You can't do it if you aren't ready. But now I know this time it will work, for me, you and everyone here on this website! We wouldn't spend time seeking advice and help if we weren't ready.

I have charts everywhere, lol. I made alot on my xcell where I put what I eat daily with my weight, and another one that has measurements that I will be updating weekly.

I love that you can eat fruit!! Was on south beach before and I would cheat now and then because I wanted that sweetness, sugar!

So I'm gonna sound super fat but you know what helped me not cheat the other day. lol. Can't believe I'm going to say this. I made mac and cheese for son, so cheesy. I served myself a bowl and was just smelling it and smelling it!! I could almost taste it I smelt it so hard, lol. Then I looked at my chart, saw the numbers, smiled and threw it away. (:

Tell your sis to put her candy away or your gonna start niffing it! (:

I absolutely agree with you that if you're not ready to do this for yourself, you can't succeed.. I've tried so many diets before and exercise routines and all that, but I've always been chunky and overweight, and well? unmotivated!
I looked at the south beach and atkins and all those diets, but the limitations seemed like "too much" for me.. but at this point in my life, I'm so excited to "cleanse" my body of all the crap I've been putting in it over the years.
I feel so much better already and it's only been 3 days!

I'm proud of you for doing something for yourself! And you're losing amazingly! I'm averaging 0.5-1.0 pound a day, and i'm happy about it for sure, and just have to remind myself that yeah, it may be hald a pound, but in a week? that's 3 and a half!

I did the same thing with my sisters garlic cheesy mashed potatoes! I smelled them and hovered around in the kitchen "making my dinner" which was really me slooooowly chopping my romaine lettuce, and stirring my homemade italian vinegarette (which turned out amazing!) that didn't need stirring. She finally called me out on it, I was that obvious!

So you're not in the boat alone, girl! hahaha
my friend who turned me on to this diet just sent me a link for a cookbook today, and I'm so excited to use it! (It's where I found the italian dressing- which has like, 20 calories per generous serving!)
Sorry, I'm excited to have tasty recipes all in one place- I've been hunting and searching and only come up with small handfuls so far.

I've managed to walk by the candy so far.. it's almost rewarding to know that I do in fact have enough will power to say no to pure sugar!
It also helps that I found an app for my phone that you can plug foods in and it'll give you the nutritional value.. 1 jelly belly has 4 calories! haha

I'm a little OCD, so I have an excel sheet too, that has a ton of equations and things that it'll tell me in coordination w my weight loss- my BMI, how far I am from it, how much weight I have left to lose, et c.

I took your advice on the strawberries tonight! They were scrumptious! I mixed up some defatted/unsweetened giardhelli chocolate, cinnamon, pure vanilla, and stevia to dip it in.. oh man. that hit the spot!

When we are in the maintenance phase I plan to be on South Beach Diet, but still have HCG rules. Before I got pregnant with my son I had lost 30 lbs with that diet in 2 months! It was great, there are really good recipes that I have for it. Will have to go through and see if any are HCG friendly. If so, I will definitely send some your way.

I feel so great as well! I have gotten more energy! I agree with you about cleansing your body all the crap. This new life style makes me look back and remember all the food I use to eat in one sitting. Food that I could have survived on for a week with this diet, lol. So bad!!

Thanks for complementing my weight loss. You are doing good as well. I see it this way, any lbs lost is a gain!! Because if we weren't on this diet the weight we are losing could have been added to our starting weight. With me and the path I was heading I would probably be weighing 291.8 instead of being 272.2. My main slap in the face was when I noticed I was less than 20 lbs away from 300. Didn't and would never want to cross that line.

Felt as if I was going to pop tonight! I made my husband baked chicken but when 15 min were remaining I brushed on a small amount of bar b que sauce on them!! The house smelt so beautiful of bar b que!! I was so tempted, I kept repeating, "I can have one right, is it okay?" Then I just happened to see myself and I swear is if I saw a thinner me. I calmed quickly and thank God I had not eaten my fruit! Orange saved me, put paprika so I could feel as if I were cheating in a good way. WILL POWER!

Sniff a jelly bean for me! Lol. I don't think I can face candy yet! Those strawberries sounded phenomenal! Will enjoy mine tomorrow.

I found a recipe for P2 safe BBQ sauce! I haven't tried it yet, but it looks good!
I also found a teriyaki sauce!
Maybe you can try these so you don't have to just sniff all your amazing sounding meals! haha
It does use a veggie and fruit, respectively, but it might be worth it for some awesome flavor?

    Barbeque Sauce
    Ingredients
    3 ounces tomato paste
    ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
    3 tablespoons lemon juice
    1 tablespoon hot sauce
    1 tablespoon minced onion
3 cloves garlic crushed and minced
    ¼ teaspoon chili powder
Liquid smoke hickory flavoring to taste
    ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    54
    ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    ½ teaspoon onion powder
    1 teaspoon chopped parsley
Stevia to taste (Try a touch of dark chocolate liquid stevia for added flavor)
    Cayenne pepper to taste
    Salt and pepper to taste
Water as needed to achieve desired consistency
    Directions
In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients. Mix well and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for at least 5 minutes adding a little water to
achieve desired consistency and to make sure it doesn’t burn. Use as a
barbeque sauce for chicken or beef.
    Makes 1-2 servings (1 vegetable)

    Teriyaki Sauce
    Ingredients
½ cup beef or chicken broth (Depending on your protein choice)
    ¼ cup Bragg’s liquid aminos
    2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Orange juice (Juice from 3 segments)
    ¼ cup lemon juice
    1 tablespoon finely minced onion
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon powdered ginger or grated fresh ginger
    1 clove finely minced garlic
Lemon and/or orange zest to taste
    Stevia to taste
    48
    Directions
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce
heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until liquid is reduced. The longer you
simmer the richer the flavors. As the liquid reduces, deglaze the pan with a
little water or broth to intensify the flavors. Enjoy as a glaze or sauce with
    chicken or beef.
    Makes 1-2 servings (1 fruit)

    Thanks for the recipes!!

They both sound great! I'm going to have to make that bbq sauce soon! I think I'm going to treat me self every 25 lbs. I lose. Like hair cut, getting mani/pedi, weekend trip things to just say "good job"!
