Hello, all! My wifi is actually working today, we'll see how long it lasts this time...I live in an apartment complex and it goes in and and. Wish I knew more about that stuff.

VLCD # 11 here. Had a .8 loss today and was stoked!
I can finally fit some of my clothes again, I've been wearing stretchy shorts and dresses the last few months.
So I decided today to experiment with beef and see if I I'm one that loses or gains from it. I bought a package of two eye of round steaks and boiled one with some celtic sea salt, peppercorns, onions cut in half, and garlic cloves. I saved the onions and some broth for french onion soup tomorrow. I boiled cabbage in the other portion of broth. In a wok I used broth and sautéed garlic and ground peppercorns with a little additional salt and added the beef, cut into strips, at the very end. It was delicious!

Vitamin b-12 arrived today, about to do my first injection of that. It says to do 2 injections a week, is that usually what is done on the hcg diet?

Hondo1 My first week felt very long, as well. The last few days haven't felt as long, I think I've adjusted to the diet and am now able to follow it without thinking about it all day. Been playing the sims in my free time, it's a time vacuum!!!!

3TimeGirl Have you been measuring yourself? Don't let that small loss get you down! I get on at 2am because I'm a dancer. I get online on my phone when I'm at work and usually stay up till 3am.

Hekare So sorry to hear about your cat Hopefully things are ok! I have a cat myself it's so funny when I'm eating my pre-weighed meals and she doesn't understand why I can't give her a few bites. I usually just give her a couple tiny bites now.

Hope we all have a great day getting closer to our goals!!

    Hi everyone!
I'm just starting hCG and VLCD for the first time, and I'm now on day 6. So far I have lost about 10 pounds! I'm so excited, and I'm dying to see what the end results will be for me!
I'm so glad to see that there are others starting at the same time, I definitely think that having a support is necessary!
So far, I'm feeling pretty good. But I'm hungry nearly all day - from lunch time up until about the time I go to bed. I'm drinking TONS of water, and have even increased my protein to about 10 ounces each day, but can't seem to shake the rumbles in my stomach. Drinking tea has helped a bit, but hasn't made the problem go away. Any suggestions?

THANK YOU to everyone who shared in my happy dance with me! Today I was only down 200g/.44lbs but I'm still happy Looking forward to seeing what the scales say tomorrow. I'm also going to play dress ups with my son today... take his box of dress up clothes into my bedroom and he can try all of them of while I get out my massive pile of shorts and skirts and tops that I used to fit into and try them on so that I can do some more happy dancing! YAY

3timegirl are you goign to try anything to break your stall? a mini steak day or something? Or are a patient one who can ride it out?

215to135 you can also make your own quinoa crackers. Did your thighs melt off in the heat of the day?

Hondo oh how wonderful to go to a show in NYC! Oh I really need to get out and live lol Must put that on my bucket list. Have to giggle at you smacking your friend. Hard. LOL Cant' stand 'friends' like that!

Welcome and congrats on your loss so far that's great. You are not supposed to be hungry. Are your drops good quality? If they are then the dosage may be off. There heaps of info on the forum about being hungry etc and how to fix it.

    More Happy Dancing!

So what a great day it's been again! STACKS of my old tops fit and not only fit, look great I also got out all of my old winter jumpers and most of them fit too except they are a bit shorter then what I like to wear now days. Then there are my clubbing tops and some other casual tops which I dare say I will NEVER fit into again because I swear my 21 month old son could wear them.... Was I really ever that thin I could still put them on though which was fun! Woohoo for the HCG diet! Hope you are all having sweet dreams... Think I'll make this my last post (3 in a row is a bit embarrassing)!

So happy I lost 1 lb. overnight. The past 4 days I had lost under 1 lb. and I was beginning to think I was past the point of losing more than .8 lbs. after the first few days, so this was a really happy morning for me. Hope to see more of them! I did have fish last night for dinner, so maybe that has something to do with it. Hope everyone else has good results!

SoulFire - sometimes I write more than one post in a row too. New things just keep occurring to me and no one else is online to fill in between. Glad you're having so much success going through your closet and finding things that fit.

kbobsled - Welcome and congrats on losing 10 lbs! I agree with SoulFire about checking the quality and/or dosage of your drops. I hardly ever feel hungry unless I go 6+ hours between meals or snacks. Not trying to "harsh your mellow", but hate to hear you're suffering needlessly....

    Good Morning everyone,

Today is VLCD 4, and was down 1.3 this morning, which means I'm 6.9 lbs below my post-load weight, and 2.3 below my pre-load. I have to say, I'm thrilled to have lost a little over a pound the last two days but I'd also be lying if I didn't admit I'm a little bummed I'm not pulling some bigger numbers now in the first few days. I really shouldn't be complaining with TOM here and having just switched from hHCG drops to injections in the middle of my first week-I'm lucky I'm losing at all! Just have to remind myself that my losses are in the average and this is still way faster than anything else. I'll stop being a baby about it now

lysma: 10.4 in a week is AMAZING! you must feel so so good. Just thinking about all the clothes in my closet that would fit me when I'm down 10 makes me giddy. Congrats!

hekare Congrats on losing your loading weight! Amazing how quickly it comes off right?! I hope your cat is doing ok poor little guy.

saria171 Congrats on the .8 loss and your "new" wardrobe! Seriously, that is the best feeling ever. For me that's always the moment that I realize all my hard work has paid off. The numbers on the scale can be so abstract but pulling up a pair of pants that used to be too tight makes it real. So happy for you.

Farrah30 hope you are enjoying your loading! I'm a little bit jealous, even though I JUST finished mine a few days ago...sigh...feels like a million years ago...

kbobsled 10 lbs in the first 6 days?!?! WOW!! that is incredible. I hope my losses pick up like that! Re: being hungry-maybe it's a dosage thing? I was pretty hungry the last few days also on the hHCG drops-had a massive headache yesterday. If i hadn't switched to the injections I was planning to play with the dose. My bottle had said start with 10 drops 3x a day and if still hungry switch to 6 drops 6x a day. So maybe you need them in shorter time intervals? Just a thought.

soulfire Unfortunately I don't think the 1.3 I lost last night melted from my thighs, but I guess it melted from somewhere, so I'm happy! So glad you're enjoying all the new clothes that fit I'll be thrilled when I'm out of stretch pants and flowy dress land.

Hope everyone wakes up to good numbers this morning and has a relaxing Sunday!

    Morning!

Lost .8lb this morning. I was kind of expecting more since I lost nothing yesterday, but still, not complaining. That makes a total of 4.0lb from my starting weight and 5.8lb from my post loading weight for the first full week of VLCD. Certainly not as much as lots of others on here, but I'm really trying not to get discouraged by it and keep plugging away. Maybe it's slower for me because I don't have a ton of weight to lose?

Yesterday in NYC was fabulous. My 16 yr old daughter and I actually got through the entire day without arguing! That is a miracle in itself! We did some Madison Ave window shopping after that, which she loves, and I was more than happy to do with her. I kept looking at all the styles I would be able to wear after I got to goal weight (not that I can afford those prices, but it was nice to imagine!) But it was good for my motivation. Dinner turned out quite easy for me at a seafood restaurant. I ordered plain steamed lobster tail (had to guess at the amount to eat as it seemed like a lot of meat to me, so didn't eat it all), didn't use the melted butter, and grilled asparagus with plain lemon juice and spices rather then the bernaise sauce that usually accompanies it. It was delicious! The only rub in the entire dinner was my assisine SIL, who, as usual, totally pissed me off. We were all dressed pretty casually (not jeans, but I was wearing a cotton shirtwaist dress, my husband and son were wearing polo type shirts and khakis) and she comes waltzing in in her Channel suit (I kid you not) suggesting that I might be a tad underdressed! Meanwhile, it's 98 degrees outside (I don't think she has any sweat glands) and there are tons of people in the restaurant in shorts! So naturally I'm starting out on the wrong foot with her - nothing new there. When she started questioning me about not eating the butter, the bernaise sauce, etc., I basically told her to mind her own business and not much transpired between us for the rest of the meal. (it was a good thing she was sitting across the table from me, rather than next to me, because I might very well have taken 3TimeGirl's advice and shoved her off her chair!) Anyway, thanks to all of you listening to me rant and rave about her here - feels good to get it off my chest!

kbobsled Great job on the 10lbs - I'm a little jealous! I do think you ought to talk to Grammy here on the forum about your dosage, as you shouldn't be hungry. She has a group called 'Grammys Groupies' or something like that where you can ask her about dosing.

3TimeGirl Got my fingers crossed that you've past the stall by now. Just don't give up, please
We're all here for you so use us if you get really frustrated. If you're about to put something in your mouth that you're not supposed to (like I probably would be doing in your shoes) PM me! I'm around all day today. And thanks for the mom's tip regarding my duplicitous behavior around my daughter. Can you send me a copy of that rulebook you quoted from??

SoulFire You are too much! You really are on fire! Totally stoked up about this and your loss. It's so much fun reading about your excitement, so don't stop, even if it means 3 posts a day.

llsyma Your first week's losses are incredible, despite the added beef. I'm really impressed. Again, so sorry about your friend. I'm glad they have extended family to help out thru this horrible time. Tall & thin spouses: I didn't mean to imply that mine wasn't supportive of losing weight, just that he's pretty traditional and doesn't keep up much with modern medicine and I know what his reaction would be to hcg shots - it wouldn't be positive! Like I said, he has always told me there's no way I can ever lose without exercising. That works for him, which is great, as he does triathlons, but but at this point I have a really good idea of what works and doesn't work for me. And yes, I agree that my SIL needs a total attitude adjustment! And thanks for the idea of putting ACV in seltzer water. Never would have thought of it but tried it yesterday and it made getting the water down a lot easier and actually loved the taste! Macy's is having a sale here today on SodaStreams, so I was going to go over and buy one, as I'm sick of lugging home bottles of seltzer. Had never heard about them before, so thanks for that too.

hekare So sorry about your cat. But diabetes is manageable in cats - I had one that lived to 15 with it. Not easy, but doable. And congrats on shedding all the loading weight! I hope your mood swings are a bit easier to handle today, or gone completely by now.

Saria171 Keep me posted on your beef experiment. I love beef and I've also heard that it can go either way on this protocol. I've eaten a fair amount of it this first week and am wondering if maybe that could be a cause of my less than hoped for losses.

Farrah30 Good luck on your first day of VLCD!

I'll be thinking of everyone and wishing good thoughts for you all today! Thanks for being here. It really helps me stay on track.

I'm sure that's what it is. Don't get discouraged...you're doing great! And you did so well having dinner in a restaurant. I haven't tried that yet!

Pretty similar to my DH. He is a tennis player and has played everyday this week DESPITE the 100+ degree weather we've had here. He also is quick to point out that I need to exercise to maintain weight loss etc... but he's seen me stick religiously to diets while STARVING and miserable and exercising but still be unable to lose and stabilize. I've talked about hCG for six months until he became more comfortable with the idea - but he did want me to get the prescription from a local dr. and do weekly check ups etc... So he's still old-school too. But he's glad to see me able to lose weight while not suffering from hunger etc...and he's glad I'm cooking more primal/paleo style food for him! He loses weight so easy its disgusting! AND he can snack endlessly in the evening and not gain! Wish I had THAT metabolism!

And yes, I agree that my SIL needs a total attitude adjustment! What goes around, comes around. She will get hers at sometime in her life....

And thanks for the idea of putting ACV in seltzer water. Never would have thought of it but tried it yesterday and it made getting the water down a lot easier and actually loved the taste!
I think it's strangely tasty too. I like it with just a bit of cinnamon added to it. I was curious and researched it a bit. ACV was the original "sports drink" for farmers in the fields before the age of refrigeration and bottled soft drinks. Colonial era women preserved berries in it and mixed it with plain water.

Macy's is having a sale here today on SodaStreams, so I was going to go over and buy one, as I'm sick of lugging home bottles of seltzer. Had never heard about them before, so thanks for that too.
You're welcome! Glad Macy's has them on sale. DH has started drinking it too and says its refreshing. He likes it plain (and so do I - but the ACV is good for me now...) Sparkling water is also good with lemon juice in it. I've never tried SodaStreams soda flavors, but might when I've got kids around.

I'll be thinking of everyone and wishing good thoughts for you all today! Thanks for being here. It really helps me stay on track.
Couldn't agree more. I'm stoked about hCG and my weight loss - but don't want to have my friends think I'm crazy and endangering my health etc. Even the one friend I have that also struggles with weight wouldn't approve because she had to have gallbladder surgery after being on Nutrisystems. Her doctor said low calories caused her a problem. Much nicer to make friends on this forum to discuss it with!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

have tried to post this three times already....grrr!

Congrats to those who are showing steady losses and those who have broken through stalls! For those who are plodding along with part of a pound here another part there, what helped me put it in perspective in my first round, was that HCG is still so much faster than anything else I've tried! I've been on diets where a pound a week is pretty much the best you can hope for. With this diet, I got spoiled that first week, and started doing the math: "at this rate, I will lose 45 pounds in 28 days!" But how incredible is even 10 pounds in 28 days?!

I woke up .2 down, but honestly, I fully deserved a huge gain. I won't detail what I did, but I definitely slipped....on my second day! Why am I sabotaging myself? Because of all the R2 horror stories? Because I know I"d be happy with just 10 lbs this round? Because I haven't felt this premenstrual in over a decade? Because my head's not in the game and I just need to commit and get this done? I was so good about protocol my first round; I didn't cheat until the very end, when it was time to move on anyway. What's going on with me?

Thanks for the well wishes for our cat. This is going to sound horrible, and who could prefer the alternative, but I honestly can't believe my husband is so adamant about treating him. I'd like to think I'm not heartless, but we don't have the thousands of dollars to throw at this. Of course, now that he's already spent $600 on it (this week alone!), he's committed to the special diet that costs twice as much, the weekly testing, the insulin, the whole thing. And while I'm detailing how selfish I am, we've just reached the point where the kids are grown and we could actually plan to have a few date nights here and there, or even run off for a weekend, and I just see all that flying out the window when we're spending all this money and someone has to give the cat an injection at 7AM and 7 PM. Right now, I don't even trust my feelings about this, when I seem to spend all day weepy or raging, with no in-betweens...

Here's hoping a strong day on protocol makes everything rosier in the morning for all of us!
