Second Round

Glad to hear you made it through P3 without too much angst. ^_^

If you are doing the protocol the way it is intended, you always do 40 day rounds until you get to the last one, and then finish off with the shorter round for the last 15 pounds or so.

People on the forums seem to have good success with doing an interruption (4-13 days) after 23 injections and then finish up the remaining 17 dose days afterward. If you plan for that, you can decide to end at 23 days anyway. It leaves your options open.

Leez, question on resuming VLCD after a PI as I will be doing my first one next week. After the break where you eat P3 for the 5-14 days, do you eat P3 the first 2 days (hhcg) when re-starting hhcg, and then on day 3 start back on VLCD? You still need the hhcg to build up in your system before resuming the 500 calories, correct?

As long as your interruption is less than 2 weeks ( not counting the transistion out of P2 days), you start right back in. No loading, no P3 eating. Right back into P2. Some people ignore that and load again anyway. However, since you have been eating fats during your interruption, your body is ready to resume

Ok great, thanks. I was going back and forth in my mind on what was correct, and this makes a lot of sense so thanks so much for clearing it up for me as a first timer doing a PI. My interruption will only be one week, maybe 8 days on the outside since I’m not sure I’ll be able to restock for P2 until the day after I get back. I’ll be well within the 2 weeks, though it’s nice to know I have a little cushion if needed. After my very unstable P3 preceding this round, I don’t want to veer too far off for too long. I still have a long way to go.

Some have reported that they felt they stabilized easier in round where they did an interruption. Let's hope it works that way for you. :)

@Leez after reading your Response, I went ahead and purchased another 23 day Round to ensure I do the proper 40 days. Not planning to do any type of interruption. I don't think I'm skilled enough for that. (LOL)

I will do the Protocol the way it was intended.

I think you will be glad you made the decision to do the 40 dose round. There is something peaceful about it and your body gets a longer break from its regular processes so that when your hypothalamus resets after the long rest, it resets solidly. I think it also gives you more time to get used to how satisfying plain simple foods can be so that when you resume regular eating during and post P3, it is easier to establish healthier choices without feeling like you are still "dieting". Those bad-for-you comfort foods won't have the same power over you anymore. And that is worth a lot.

All my rounds were long ones until the final one to goal. I had a few set backs after reaching goal before finding my maintenance rhythm, but I never ballooned up again. Just had to deal with a small regain a couple of times. So my reset was successful.

Just had my Consult with the Doc and I will be getting my other 23 prescription filled so I can do the entire 40 day round.

Ready to Go!

Well, my very first PI seemed to go well. No crazy hunger like I experienced in my last P3 (which makes me hopeful for a much better P3 this time) and I stayed within the 2lb window. YAY! Back to P2 today which is a little harder to get back into than I anticipated since this was the plan all along, but this too shall pass. Onward!

TWise, I think you are in the first few days of round 2, if so, i hope you are settling into the rhythm without difficulty.

Glad things are going well for you MrsWoody. Staying in your window is a great comfort during an interruption. I have not done one myself, as it seems easier to me to keep going than to have to restart P2 after a short time. Glad you managed it!
