    Starting round with knee injury

Hey group! Its been a while since I've been on. I'm needing advice on starting another round. I recently had an injury on my knee. It's been a month and its healing very slowly. I slammed my knee into a huge rock on the beach. I'm still trying to figure out if I tore my meniscus. I was wondering, if Its not a good idea to start another round right now. Will it slow my healing process? I want to be successful in this. I recently gained way to much weight and I cannot for Into any clothes, I have never been so big before.

    Thanks everyone for advise!

You need adequate protein to heal properly. The amount of protein you get in P2 is just barely enough to avoid being protein deficient.

You might be able to add in some bone broth (counting calories as part of your 500 allowed) and get some extra protein in that way. I've used bone broth in the protocol successfully.

I agree! So so you think I can start a round at the moment? My doctor suspects I may have torn my meniscus but were unsure as my knee has been swollen and I've been unable to do the test yet. That was several weeks ago, my swelling has come down and knee is much better. I still think I may have torn something though.

As someone who recently had knee surgery (April 12) you may or may not have an immediate care plan. Usually depending on the outcome after the initial injury they will work through physical therapy or injections to reduce swelling and get your ROM and strength back. Since the injury is recent unless you are unable to do daily activities I don't think they would jump to surgery. If they do I am 17 days post op and doing physio working on strengthening the knee. The only thing that I am aware of that can 100% diagnose a torn meniscus is an MRI as not all soft tissue damage will show on an XRAY.

Depending on how it goes for you, you may be at the start of a long battle or hopefully it resolves after the initial injury and you can move forward.

I am just waiting for bloodwork to be done (also have thyroid issues) and am planning on starting a new round even though I am technically still in recovery to surgery so in the long run it is up to you. I do plan on having more protein and following more of the 2.0 protocol so that I have extra calories to help.

You say your knee is healing slowly. That would be a concern. If healing is your priority, then that should answer your question.

Also, if there is a possibility you might need surgery soon, it would not be a good idea to start a round and then have to abort it.
