Do any of you find yourself wanting to avoid going out with friends because of the food thing? I'm going to a friend's house for dinner and a movie tonight and I don't want to go, because I will bring my own food, and then I have to explain why, and then it becomes this big conversation, and I'm so tired. LOL It's so much easier to stay home and eat. Am I the only one?

    You're not alone!! LOL.
Maybe do what Pensee did when they went to the lunch cook-out. Said they were a little ill and that's why they weren't eating
Then you can easily explain why you are only drinking water and bring an apple or what you will to eat one, saying it's the only thing that settles ok on your stomach

I am the same, I just don't want to have to explain it all...I went to a family dinner and didn't have any way around it. It turned out fine and not as big an issue as I thought it would be ... but I do understand it's easier to avoid than feel like you're going to have to defend your diet

But maybe the 'stomach' thing would get you out of the issue

I am with you. I have a Christening and receiption following at an Italian Restaurant. Sigh. Knowing I can't avoid social situations forever....I'm going to eat salad before hand and then just push my food around on the plate. It is challenging. But I self mantra I have got to please myself and not worry about everyone else. Go and stay strong! You can do it!

Hello to all u motivators....I have been trying to find a group to belong to and hope that i can be included with this one....i am a first HCG'er and started about the same time. Any and all help will be useful and greatly appreciated. So far just everyday choices and explaing to family & friends is hard enough but my mantra is "quitting is NOT an option".

    Cheers!

    Smile My First Post

Hello... This is my first post on this site. I have been browsing for the last couple of days and registered today. I am very glad to have found this place because doing this alone is very hard. I am currently on a doctor-monitored sub-q HCG 125 I.U. I did my two loading days on 6/16 & 6/17 and began my first day of VLCD on 6/18 which puts me at day 7 of VLCD. I am down 11lbs. Sad to say that I was down 10 by Friday and it has taken me another two days to just drop one more pound. I know progress is progress but it was a let down to see the weight loss almost come to a halt. I have stayed very strict to protocol and no cheats.

Today was a hard day. I don't know why, but I had all kinds of cravings. Every possible thought on why I shouldn't be dong this on my vacation passed through my mind. I even considered stopping for some crazy reason. I know it will all be worth it in the end and reading through these forums really helped me remember that.

I would really like to maintain support since I am the only one around my friends and family who is on any sort of diet, let alone this strict of one.

Thanks for listening... or should I say reading... :-)

@Delited welcome & all the best. I like your mantra.

@Ricanstar welcome here too.11 # in 1 week I great! Are u serious abt being disappointed & wanting to quit? This diet is also emotionally taxing & we all ve our bad days. But what other diet makes u lose a pound per day? U r having great results. It's normal for losses to slow down after the first week. But u are going to love the results. Especially the reshaping. Don't get discouraged. And don't get fixated on the scale. If u stick to protocol u will lose no matter what the scale says. Most people say that they lose inches when they start to stall. So look in the mirror, take measurements, or try on clothes that are too tight & c if they fit better. Do whatever it takes to motivate urself. U can do this. Quitting is not an option

    Welcome to the new faces!!!

Well, guys, I didn't go. I know I can't stay in forever, but last night I just felt like it would be too hard. It was easier for me to just stay home and focus. Maybe next time...sigh...

    Hey Moxie...
You did what was good for you... you knew your 'focus' area, that's good, if you thought it would be to hard then you just weren't ready and really made the right choice to stay home and continue focus!!
Making it through this is hard and making a choice to stick to rather than go and feel that you might have cheated or it was going to be to much on you...then yes stay home, you'll work it through!!

Mox, u r the only one who can decide whether u r ready to go out there. But u should eventually. It's important to get some emotional toughness while on the diet, to b able to keep the weight off long term. U ll b able to do it eventually (took one half successful & 3 messed up attempts on P2 though ;-) and u please feel so proud abt that new freedom of not having everything edible jump into ur mouth just cause it's on the table :-)
    All the best.

Good Morning everyone and welcome newcomers. I am in that second week rollercoaster teetering between 2 oz. I'm thinking it could be the prednizone, TOM coming, stress, or maybe the inches are readjusting. Either way plugging along.

Have a Happy Monday and may the whoosh fairy visit soon!

Good Morning to All and hoping you had a successful weekend. I had to entertain unexpected dinner guests on Saturday night so I ordered in Indian food which smelled and looked amazing but I did not have any while company was here....sipped on green tea, served them, played with their lil ones so that they could enjoy dinner and I didn't have to explain why I was not eating. However after they left....I cleaned up, put away the left overs and decided it was too late for me to prepare and something for myself to eat so I just had a big mug of boiling water with lemon in it. Daughter was out, hubby went to sleep so decided to sit and watch tv and unwind for a bit before hitting the sack....but then that little bad voice in my head got the better of me and I cheated by nibbling on half a samosa..not cuz i was hungry just because i was tempted.
Sunday I got up weighed and realized i was down but less than a 1 lb....disappointed because i didn't have enough calories but cheated. New day, new start, right? Drank plenty of fluid, had proper lunch etc but then had to attend a Bday at Chuck E Cheese (which is a horror in itself). Watched the kids play, everyone gorge out on pizza, pop, beer & cake while I sipped on hot water. Everything going great until my neice and nephew-in-law announce to all the guests why I am not eating and that they are loading as well to start the the diet on Monday. No problem that they want their friends n family to know but I really didn't want to explain the whole protocol, the 500 cal, HCG etc plus I just wanted most people to see a newer smaller version of me when it happens now they will know and expect results and/or see failure. This is about me and not others but oh well...gotta deal with it.
Good news: P2D7 down 10.4 lbs (including load) which -7lbs not so shabby i think.

Anyways here to a new week of successful loss. Cheers!
